Chapter 4 - IV - The Shattered Hope

The vertical hierarchy of the hunt was finally over. There was the predator that towered above, the one who eat and the ones that will be eaten by it's fang. The game of hunt had been unfair from the start. For the broken prey lay waiting below, it's a turnover. A short and ironic ones for an ending. The man adrenaline finally burned out, leaving only just a cold reality of the given fate. He looked to the sky and cried for the third shout, but only this one, he shout in silence as his lungs has torned by the blood sprout. A quite and crushing sorrow. He lived for a short time, breathed the air for a while, and not even taste the water of the river as his thurst had collide. A well joyful ride of an ending.

The beast loomed over his shattered bones, its jaws opening, it's nose widen, and fang shines. The man closed his eyes for the final time. Perhaps death wasn't a punishment anymore. Perhaps it was a gift, the only thing left that could finally sever his pain.
