Chapter 6 - A night, an anomaly, and a sun

"That's some strong booze," Moonlight said just as Sunny's eyes slowly came to an open with a groan.

It felt as though he was returning from a dream that lasted too long a moment.

Luna helped him to sit up and helped him to some sweet concoction.

*Sugared water.*

A voice echoed Sunny's head the moment he swallowed.

"Right," he thought to himself, "I'm just going crazy, nothing much."

"You've been gone the whole day," Moonlight said. Her tone was more intrigued than concerned. "How was it? Like how good?" She leaned up close, her eyes gleaming like those of a child.

"I had the weirdest dream," Sunny grumbled.

"Disclosure of system users is prohibited, " The voice echoed in Sunny's head again.

"Well now we have to go drink it," Moonlight proposed.

"No." Luna's voice had a finality to it, like a mother restricting her child from making a mistake she would be regretting.

"Geez, such a mom..." Moonlight's eyes rolled.

"Sean came by searching for you, he's in the living room. Are you sure your in a state to actually be with him?" Luna asked, looking down at Sunny who was now feeding himself the sugared water.

"He wouldn't do an-"

"He would, trust me."

Now Sunny didn't know what to say. But he couldn't just stay here and be a burden to the two ladies.

"I'll be fine," He said, getting off the bed.

"There she is," Sean said, sitting among some four other men, with ranging body builds.

"Not a she," Sunny growled.

They laughed.

"Well, can we leave with Sunny without any intervention now, your highnesses?" Sean asked, sarcasm flooding his tone.

Night time always did soothe Sunny. There was something about not relying on the sun, or it being constantly overhead, watching him. Watching like a killer readying to finish a job he hadn't finished back then.

The night now, however, did feel rather different. There was something eerie about it. There was something in the air, something that made Sunny rethink going back to Luna and Moonlight's place.

There was someone following them. Nobody else in the group seemed ot notice them, Sunny did.

Every few steps, Sunny stole a glance back. Whoever it was, with the pace at which they were walking, they were approaching them much too fast, almost unhumanly.

"Anomaly detected."

Sunny's heart sunk. His knees went weak with each step. He looked up at the sky, hoping, begging that tentacles wouldn't sprout out of the sky.

They didn't.

When he lowered his gaze from the sky however, a chilling thought crossed him. He turned to steal another glance. The person following them had vanished.

He held his breath.

He hoped he was just hallucinating.

The street was somewhat empty, saved for the group and some approaching people.

They couldn't be anomalies, they didn't have the tentacles nor were they giant monsters.

If they tried anything, they could be handled.

Sunny looked around him. Muscular men, apart from him, the smallest one had an above medium build. They could handle a fight. Hopefully.

They were girls, the approaching group that is, it sounded like a group of girls.

"Dude Sunny, are you even listening?" Sean's words snapped him right back to reality.

"Huh?"

"You gotta tell us how it was, staying with the moons. I mean, you're even wearing their clothes."

Sunny hadn't noticed that he left their apartment while still wearing the night gown. This definitely wasn't going to help his case against the girl allegations.

Sigh.

"It was just fine," He said.

The approaching group finally got close enough for them to be seen under the street lights.

Those were not normal people.

Nobody else in the group seemed to notice.

Their faces were upside down, with their mouths at the top, noses in the right place and eyes at chin level.

Sunny looked forward, pretending he couldn't see them, realising nobody else in the group could.

He gripped the gown tight, his hands shaking as he did.

"Task:Eliminate the anomaly."

"Fuck no," Sunny thought to himself."

Just as the groups were about to cross each other, the air shifted, everything seemed to slow.

"Mmmm, man blood," the ladies said in unison, as their group stopped, slowly turning their heads to face Sunny's group.

The men froze in place.

The ladies reached, each grabbing one and lifting them effortlessly in the air. Their mouths opened, from the forehead stretching over the whole face, revealing rows of razor fangs.

The first dug into the chest of the man they had taken. Within no time, the air was filled with the screams of the men. They were bigger that the ladies, some even being twice their size, and yet they were completely defenceless.

One of the ladies grabbed Sunny by the throat, lifting him off the ground single handedly.

Her eyes popped out of their sockets on the chin and went up closets assess him.

"What are you?" She asked.

"A girl," Sunny gasped past his frantic attempts to breathe.

After a moment, she grabbed the garment of the night gown Sunny was in and tore it off with one swift motion.

"A man," she said, her voice coarse. For once he actually would appreciate it if he was called a girl.

"Help-" He tried to cry out, but only managed a chilling whisper.

The girl pulled him close, her tongue sticking out and meeting his face. With one lick, it tore the skin off Sunny's face.

He wanted to scream but only cold gasping breaths escaped his lips.

He tried tearing her grip from his neck but that proved as fruitful as ripping steel in half using his bare hands.

The screams of the other men were instantly drowned out by Sunny's internal screams.

The girl reached out yet again, her grip remaining tight. Her nails dug into his chest like blades piercing air.

She grabbed, and with another swift motion, his skin from the chest down past his ankles was torn off, revealing his blood drenched insides.

She grinned. A wide grin, a demonic grin.

The pain wasn't scream worthy. It was beyond that. This was something in a whole world of its own.

Sunny stopped struggling. He couldn't struggle anymore, his whole body went weak.

All he could manage were frantic gasps in an attempt to breathe with the cold air directly hitting his insides as the other men's screams faded away to near silence, leaving the noisy eating and laughs of the women.

The lady holding Sunny opened her mouth, stretching over her whole face and in went Sunny's skin.

She let out a satisfied sigh and faced Sunny yet again, his blood dripping down her face. She let out a toothy grin before speaking.

"System user," her tone was flooded with excitement.

Her other hand grabbed both of Sunny's legs, holding him in position, his chest and stomach exposed.

His vision was blurred. His head hung.

He got a clear view of the other ladies greedily fiesting on the corpses of the other men.

It was the same fate that awaited him.

Maybe he should have taken Luna's word and stayed with them instead.

Thud! Sunny hit the ground before his consciousness faded, forcing him back awake.

The pain flooded in. He wanted to scream. He opened his mouth but only gargled whispers came out.

Looming over him was the lady. She was screaming, waving herself about, blood gushing form where he arms used to be.

"Anomaly G-14L," a familiar voice pierced the air before the lady's head fell right next to his.
