"Despicable..."
Accelerator hissed the word through gritted teeth. The pain in her stomach was so intense that even simple arithmetic felt impossible.
"Lowlife?"
Yuuya squatted down. He grabbed a handful of white hair and slammed Accelerator's face back into the dirt.
"If beating you makes me a lowlife, then what are you? You've killed 10,000 Sisters. You're not just a lowlife; you're a butcher."
"What a waste," Yuuya sighed, looking down with genuine contempt. "You possess the strongest computing power in Academy City. You control the vectors of the universe. Yet... you are so incredibly stupid."
"You were fooled by a man in a white coat. It's pathetic."
Accelerator's face was pressed against the concrete. Her red pupil shrank to a trembling pinpoint.
'It's not working...'
'The Reflection is definitely active. My skin... my clothes... the vectors are set to reverse.'
'So why? Why can't I block him?'
'It feels like... the vectors are being absorbed. No... negated. Kinetic energy, electrical energy, light... everything that touches him simply vanishes.'
'What kind of monster is this guy?'
'He defies physics. He is a walking error in reality.'
"Haaah... haaah..." Accelerator struggled to breathe. "Killed... so many? Heh. Yeah. I did it. So what? They are just puppets... dolls without souls... Don't try to be a Hero... you third-rate scum..."
Her vision blurred. She felt Yuuya's weight pressing her down.
She was helpless. If this guy wanted to, he could crush her skull right now.
For years, she had been the monster. She had broken limbs and crushed skulls while victims begged for mercy. Now, the roles were reversed. And she didn't know why.
"Looks like you've calmed down. Good."
Yuuya grinned. He saw the fight leave Accelerator's eyes.
He looked at the treasure chest icon floating over the esper's body.
'Accelerator... frail body, androgynous features. In the anime, the gender was unknown. But looking closer...'
'Let's verify.'
Yuuya grabbed the collar of Accelerator's black-and-white shirt.
RIIIP!
He tore the fabric open.
Accelerator froze. "Hah?"
Yuuya blinked. A large question mark appeared above his head.
"This is..."
Underneath the torn shirt was not a bare chest. It was a tight, white sports tank top. A modest, feminine undergarment.
Yuuya slapped his forehead.
"My worldview... is shattered."
'So the rumors were true. This isn't just Accelerator. This is Suzushina Yuriko.'
'Accelerator isn't a skinny boy; she's just a malnourished girl.'
"Hiss—it's actually a woman," Yuuya muttered, feeling a little awkward. But he didn't let go. He straddled her waist to keep her pinned.
Accelerator glared at him, her face flushing with rage and humiliation.
"Damn you..." she rasped.
"Swearing isn't nice, Yuriko. Unless you want another punch."
Yuuya released her hair, sitting back slightly.
"How pathetic. You still don't understand why I'm talking to you instead of killing you, do you?"
"Heh. Pretending to be a Hero?" Accelerator spat. "Stepping on the Strongest to save the Princesses? It's disgusting."
"Or are you just jealous? Can't stand seeing me reach Level 6 before you?"
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. No."
Yuuya clicked his tongue. He reached out and pinched her chin, forcing her to look at him.
"You think the Level 6 Shift Project is about making you a Level 6?"
"Don't be silly, kid. Use that supercomputer brain of yours."
"Do you really believe that killing 20,000 'Level 1 Slimes' will level you up to Level 100?"
"Don't make me laugh. That's RPG logic, not science."
Accelerator froze. Her eyes widened.
"Think about it," Yuuya pressed, his voice dripping with mockery. "The Tree Diagram calculated this? Bullshit."
"If combat data was the key, why not fight Kakine Teitoku (Dark Matter) 20,000 times? Or fight me? Why kill clones?"
"Why did you never question it? Because you were desperate. You wanted to reach the 'World of Light' so badly that you turned off your brain and believed the lie."
Accelerator's breathing hitched. Her pupils trembled violently.
She wanted to refute him. She wanted to scream that the calculations were absolute.
But... the logic held.
Killing weaklings didn't make you stronger. She had killed 10,000 Sisters, and she hadn't felt a single change in her power.
"I..."
"The experiment is a cover," Yuuya whispered, leaning closer. "The goal was never Level 6. The goal was to deploy the Misaka Network."
"They needed to create 20,000 Sisters and spread them across the globe. But they needed a reason to manufacture them. You were the excuse."
"As long as there are enough Sisters, the plan succeeds. You were just the tool used to justify the budget."
He patted her cheek condescendingly.
"And once the Network is ready... someone like me comes along to defeat you. To end the 'Experiment.'"
"Do you understand now? Tool."
Accelerator's mind broke.
The foundation of her reality—her suffering, her sins, her goal—crumbled into dust.
She wasn't becoming a God. She was just a garbage disposal unit for a project she didn't understand.
"So..."
Accelerator let out a dry, broken laugh.
"Hehehe... Hahaha..."
Tears pricked the corners of her eyes.
"So you are the one sent to defeat me? That means the Puppets are enough? The quota is filled?"
"You bastard... You damned man..."
"I killed 10,000 of them... for nothing?"
