"Don't worry. There are plenty of schemes waiting for you."
Yuuya looked at the girl standing amidst the wreckage.
"It's impossible for you to live a peaceful life now. Even if you quit, researchers will always come for the #1. You are a rare specimen."
"Besides... this world is far more fascinating than you believe. Don't be scared when Aleister's true plan begins."
He stopped there.
"That's all I can say. If I reveal too much, the Chairman might actually send the Hounds to suppress me."
99% of Academy City was unaware of the Magic Side. Aleister worked hard to keep it that way.
"So..." Accelerator narrowed her eyes. "You're saying I have to pretend to cooperate? I have to act out the experiment while you steal the dolls?"
She snorted coldly.
"Are you an idiot? Why say it so openly? The researchers are listening."
Accelerator paused, her expression twisting.
"Them..."
The word tasted like bile.
The researchers...
She remembered their faces. She remembered the way they smiled at her in the lab when she first hesitated.
'Don't worry,' they had said. 'They are just artificially created dolls with no self. You can treat them as guinea pigs.'
"They lied to me..." she whispered, her voice trembling with suppressed rage.
The images of the slaughter flashed through her mind. The smell of ozone. The fear in the clones' eyes—eyes that she was told were empty cameras.
They told me they were dolls. They lied to make me pull the trigger.
"That is Aleister's method," Yuuya said softly, watching her realization. "Despicable. But efficient."
Accelerator clenched her fists until her knuckles turned white. An endless chill descended over her, followed by a burning, volcanic rage.
What a joke.
You think you can manipulate me forever?
I will ruin your schemes. I will tear that smug facade off this city's face.
The seeds of rebellion were sown.
"But you don't need to worry about the researchers hearing us right now," Yuuya interrupted her thoughts, pointing a finger upward.
Crackle.
Blue arcs of electricity danced like sprites at his fingertips.
"I fried the surveillance bugs and the satellite uplink the moment I arrived. Electronic devices are fragile."
Accelerator stared at the lightning in disbelief, snapped out of her spiral.
"Electromagnetism? But you have Spatial Movement. And Physical Enhancement."
Her eyes widened.
"A Multi-Skill User?"
In the Dark Side, "Multi-Skill" was a taboo. The brain couldn't handle two Personal Realities. Experiments to create Dual Skill users always ended in brain death or insanity.
Yet, here he was. Using three.
"You really are a monster," she muttered grimly. "A lowlife monster."
"What's your real name?" Yuuya asked suddenly. "Since you're joining my team, I need to know what to call you. 'Accelerator' is a title, not a name."
Accelerator looked away.
"Name? I've long forgotten something so trivial."
She used to have a name. A cute name. But it didn't match the monster she became, so she discarded it.
"That won't do. How about this..."
Yuuya grinned.
"We'll call you Suzushina Yuriko."
"Hah?!"
Accelerator bristled. "Don't make decisions for me, you bastard! Who gave you the right to name me?!"
"Whether you accept it or not, that's your name now. Or..."
Yuuya raised his fist significantly.
"Do you want another negotiation?"
"Damn it!"
Yuriko cursed darkly. She was powerless against the one person immune to her vectors.
She sighed, defeated.
"You can eliminate all energy... You must be a Level 6, right?" she asked, looking at him with a mix of fear and curiosity.
"Level 6?"
Yuuya shrugged. "It should be coming soon."
"The so-called Level 6 (SYSTEM) means understanding the Will of Heaven in a human body. It means controlling the AIM Diffusion Field to the point of distorting reality."
"Vector Manipulation can achieve that."
But internally, Yuuya knew the truth.
Level 6 was just Aleister's attempt to create an artificial Magic God or an entity like Fiamma of the Right.
But unlike a Magic God who could rewrite the universe, a Level 6 was limited to the "Phase" of Academy City. Once outside the AIM field, they would revert.
Yuuya's power—the Star Grail—was different. It was universal.
"Finally," Yuuya said, his expression turning solemn. "I have one last order. I hope you will execute it perfectly."
Yuriko tensed. "What? Is it a dangerous mission? Assassination?"
"If you don't do it, I might have to force you."
"Just say it!"
Yuuya looked her in the eye.
"Next time we meet, you must wear a Maid Outfit."
He paused.
"The lace kind."
Silence.
The wind blew through the destroyed container yard.
[Platinum Treasure Chest Condition 2: Have Accelerator wear a Maid Outfit.]
The System was a troll. But Yuuya was a man of commitment.
"Wha...?"
Yuriko's face went blank. Then it turned black.
"I'm serious," Yuuya nodded shamelessly. "I hope I won't have to dress you myself~"
"Despicable..."
Yuriko's red eyes filled with murderous intent. She turned around, shaking with rage, and walked away into the darkness.
She looked incredibly lonely. And incredibly pissed off.
"Success."
Yuuya watched her leave.
"The Misaka Sisters issue is resolved. I've secured the strongest vanguard for HARMONY."
"Now... the only problem remaining is logistics."
He looked toward the Windowless Building.
"Where am I going to hide 10,000 clones?"
