Chapter 70 - Chapter 66: The Prototype

"A hidden room... obviously suspicious. Let's go in and take a look."

Feeling like an explorer finding a treasure chest, Yuuya stepped into the darkness. His vision adjusted instantly. A green glow illuminated the room. In the center stood a high-tech cultivation pod, far more advanced than the mass-produced ones used for the other Sisters. It was made of reinforced tempered glass, glowing with the luminescence of the nutrient solution.

Yuuya's eyes widened. There was indeed a clone inside. But she was very different from the others. While the standard Sisters were middle schoolers (copies of 14-year-old Mikoto), this one had long, brown hair that floated in the liquid, reaching her ankles. Her figure was mature and well-developed—a vision of what Misaka Mikoto would look like as an adult.

Yuuya approached the glass. He reached out and pulsed an electromagnetic wave. "Can you hear me?"

The Misaka Clones were all Electro Masters. Their brains could receive electromagnetic waves. By converting his thoughts into specific frequencies, he could communicate directly.

"If I'm not mistaken... this is Misaka 00000. The First True Clone. The Full Tuning."

She was the initial product created by the researcher Amai Ao. All subsequent Sisters, and even the prototype Dolly, were based on the data derived from her. However, because she was the "First," she suffered from severe somatic instability. She could not survive outside the pod.

"If I hadn't found you, you might have withered away here in the dark." Yuuya admired the sleeping beauty. "Number 00000... having grown so fully, you must have normal human emotions, right?"

Flutter.

Inside the pod, the clone's eyelashes trembled. She slowly opened her eyes. Seeing the stranger, she didn't panic. Instead, she reached out curiously, like a cat touching a mirror for the first time. Her hand pressed against the glass. She blew a string of bubbles, mouthing something silent.

Yuuya cupped his ear playfully. "What? You said you want to be my wife?"

Misaka 00000 blinked, looking puzzled. Then, she revealed an innocent, angelic smile.

"Heh. Looks like she really does have a personality." Yuuya nodded, pleased. "She'll die if she leaves the life support system... so I'll have to steal the whole thing."

He shoved his hands into his lab coat. A deck of playing cards appeared in his hand. They were ordinary cards from a Bronze Treasure Chest, but in his hands, they were razor blades.

Swish.

With a flick of his wrist, the cards vanished. Slice. Slice. Slice. The cards embedded themselves into the thick cables and pipes connecting the pod to the mainframe. The reinforced steel conduits were severed cleanly, as if cut by a laser.

Zzzzz...

Sparks flew. The machinery short-circuited. WHOOP! WHOOP! Red warning lights flashed. The alarm blared. Inside the pod, Misaka 00000 looked around, startled but not afraid.

"Oh dear, the alarm. Time to go!" Yuuya placed a hand on the glass.

Snap.

[Move Point: Mass Teleport]

Thirty seconds later, a furious researcher rushed into the room, throwing his tablet to the ground when he found the room empty.

...

Rooftop. A Skyscraper in District 7.

Hum.

Yuuya appeared on the edge of a high-rise roof, the heavy pod settling gently beside him. Misaka 00000 stared out through the glass. The sudden change in environment confused her. She pressed her face and hands against the glass, gazing wide-eyed at the neon nightscape of Academy City. Because she was pressed against the glass, her "assets" were... squished.

"Hoh..." Yuuya rubbed his nose, appreciating the view. "At least a C-Cup. Maybe a D? The original Misaka would cry if she saw this."

It was a bit too stimulating. "I should get her to a doctor before I get distracted."

Snap.

...

District 7. The Hospital. Dr. Gekota's Office.

The frog-faced doctor was busy recording data on a clipboard.

THUD.

A massive, glowing tube filled with green liquid appeared in the middle of his office.

"Yo! Doctor." Yuuya grinned, leaning against the pod.

"Gah?!" Heaven Canceller jumped, clutching his chest. "You...!"

The doctor sighed, scratching his bald head. "You brought a cultivation pod this time? Your sudden appearances are going to give this old man a heart attack."

"Spatial Users are always misunderstood. It's hard for me too," Yuuya shrugged shamelessly.

Then, his expression turned serious. "Doctor. This patient... her condition is tricky."

He explained Misaka 00000's origin—the genetic instability, the reliance on the nutrient solution, the inability to breathe outside air. Heaven Canceller listened, his frog-like face impassive. He walked over and tapped the glass.

"Genetic defects? Somatic instability?" He adjusted his glasses. "Not a problem. The Gene Repair Serum you gave me previously should be adaptable. I can cure any biological ailment. As long as they are still alive, I can save them."

His voice was calm, authoritative, and left no room for doubt.

"Doctor... I feel bad for your selfless dedication," Yuuya said, scratching his head. Even a scumbag like him felt a little guilty asking the doctor to do all this pro bono.

"It is what a doctor should do," Heaven Canceller shook his head. "I do not turn away patients."

"Still. Treating her will cost money. Equipment, power, medicine..." Yuuya snapped his fingers.

Clatter.

A pile of gold bars, stacked half a person high, materialized on the doctor's desk. Heaven Canceller's eyes widened. "Did you rob a bank?"

"How could I? These are honest earnings!" Yuuya lied smoothly. "I found a buried treasure."

"This..." The doctor looked at the pile of gold with a wry smile. "This is enough to buy thirty hospitals like mine. I don't need this much."

"Just store it for me, Doctor. I have nowhere to put it." (A lie; his inventory was full of it).

"Fine. I will accept it as a donation to the hospital." Heaven Canceller nodded. He looked at the woman in the pod. "I need to transfer her to a proper ICU tank and begin the stabilization process. You can leave now."

"No, Doctor!" Yuuya stepped forward, his face serious. "I can help! If you need to transfer her... you might need someone to lift her! I am very strong! I don't mind getting wet!"

Heaven Canceller looked at the boy, then at the naked woman in the jar, then back at the boy.

"Get out." The doctor laughed, pushing him toward the door. "You're just going through a teenage phase. Get out of my operating room."
