Chapter 19 - The Place Where Systems Fail

Raiyen stands at the heart of the Dead Zone.

The sky burns red.

The ground is fractured and unstable.

There are no humans—only pressure.

Earth's control here is weak, yet oppressive. System Agents move slower than before, but the weight of the planet itself presses down on him. Raiyen clenches his fist as his Soul Flame pulses unevenly. The Second Point within his chest trembles, dangerously unstable.

From the shadows, Korrin's voice echoes with urgency. Stability is critical. One wrong push could mean collapse—but if Raiyen maintains control, this instability could become an advantage.

Raiyen understands the risk.

Control… or destruction.

The Second Point surges again. Reality bends. The ground twists upward, red energy spikes tearing through the Dead Zone. Raiyen inhales sharply, fighting the instinct to unleash rage. Korrin tightens her shadow around him, guiding his focus.

Not anger.

Precision.

The power manifests violently. Black-white Soul Flame flares from Raiyen's chest, releasing a telekinetic shockwave that hurls an Earth Defense Agent aside. Even without full control, the damage is real. Korrin warns him—raw output isn't enough. He needs clarity.

Raiyen closes his eyes.

Instead of destruction, he visualizes understanding.

The Second Point responds. His heartbeat accelerates. When his eyes open, they glow with a new pattern—interlocking crimson and black rings, layered and deep, like an abyss staring back at the world.

Korrin speaks the name softly.

Abyssal Vision.

The Rinnega.

With a single glance, Raiyen sees the battlefield differently. Distance, movement, energy flow—everything is exposed. An Earth Agent five hundred meters away becomes transparent to his perception. He sees its future movements, structural weaknesses, gravitational vectors, and hidden system traps all at once.

This isn't sight.

It's reality being read.

The Second Point remains unstable, shaking his body, but the eyes hold firm. Raiyen balances on the edge—maximum awareness, minimal release. The shadows tighten, guiding his Soul Flame so it enhances rather than consumes.

The Earth Agent recovers and detects escalation. Raiyen moves calmly. His new vision calculates distance and timing instantly. When the agent attacks with a gravity spike, Raiyen dodges, counters, and repositions in a single fluid sequence—no wasted motion.

High above, the Observer watches in silence.

The edge is finally usable.

Raiyen pushes the Abyssal Vision deeper. Invisible rifts, unstable ground zones, and system logic unfold before him. His mind begins syncing with the Second Point's structure—but something holds him back.

Aira.

Her image flashes through his thoughts. His humanity anchors him, preventing the cold perfection the Second Point demands. The vision sharpens instinct and foresight without erasing who he is.

"I see everything," Raiyen whispers.

"But I remain myself."

A second Earth Agent appears—larger, denser, surrounded by an anti-energy field and terrain control. Raiyen studies it calmly. Distance. Weakness. Timing. All laid bare.

He releases just a fraction more Soul Flame.

The Abyssal Vision tracks every energy exchange in real time—the agent's shield, the fractured ground beneath it, the instability in the Dead Zone itself. Raiyen moves once. A precise pulse. The agent staggers. The terrain shifts.

No lethal damage.

Control is maintained.

The Observer acknowledges the truth: the Second Point can now be weaponized without collapse—if Raiyen's discipline holds.

Raiyen steps back, breathing steady. He understands now. The Second Point is unstable, but not uncontrollable. The Abyssal Vision is a new layer—a tool that lets him walk the edge without falling.

A soft pulse radiates from the Second Point—not an attack, but a warning. The limit is approaching.

Raiyen briefly sees Aira again in his mind. With this vision, he can perceive threats before they exist.

"I can protect her," he murmurs.

"Even from here."

On the horizon, the Dead Zone warps violently. Red distortions tear through the sky as Earth's systems escalate their response. The Second Point pulses harder, resonating dangerously.

Korrin's voice lowers.

Something bigger is coming.

And this time, Raiyen's eyes will be tested.
