" of all days, it had to be today, " Kurt blurted out tiredly as he left the drill field. It hadn't been long since he arrived, and now he was bombarded with work that he didn't plan for
He just needed rest like a long sleep in his bed, but the bastion had other plans, throwing him into training the second batch of soldiers, and when he thought he had his hands full, a recruit was added a few minutes ago, and worse still, he was still a child, which was what pissed him off even more.
He cursed as he walked fuming and barely keeping himself in check, but all those pent-up angers faded as soon as he walked into the hall; in front of him was a kid who didn't quite look like what he was told. The description read skinny and weak, but what he was seeing was a healthy child riddled with small cuts staring straight into oblivion.
His steps were slow and silent as he walked into the hall, observing with each step he took grey hair, brown skin, grey-bluish eyes, and a somewhat healthy body. When he was a few steps away, he noticed the face was pale, too pale to be normal, and even the eye seemed to have lost its life.
He didn't need anyone to tell him that the child was in a trance or was locked in a mental attack. Without wasting time, he reached out to the child, placing his hand on his shoulder, carefully using his essence to cancel out the interference, freeing him from his state.
just as this happened the child turned towards him, his eyes bright but at the same time felt wrong looking into it he was suddenly overwhelmed by dread, the kind that he couldn't shake off very much close to fear at the same time was like a premonition like he was staring at a blank slate and there was nothing to see but that feeling kept bugging him.
it was foreign to him, but he quickly shook the feeling off. "Are you alright?" he asked, watching the eyes of the child return to normal, but the face still retained the same pale attribute, and his eyes showed genuine confusion, like someone who was completely lost.
"huh "

"Huh?" Ash looked around, trying to shake the sudden change off, he was suddenly free and back in the hall but this time he was standing at the center of the hall instead of the bench at the side and there was someone behind him giving him a bewildered look " huh " he wondered asking himself how he got to where he was in the first place.
That was when it happened
he suddenly lost balance as if all his energy was being sapped out of his body leaving him disoriented, the ground suddenly felt far and before he knew it he was already on the ground completely spent and unable to move " ill be damned " Ash cursed out in a low tone trying to move, he managed to turned and saw the man looking at him totally confused.
" I think I will spend a little while down here " Ash said calmly, it was obvious that it was his captain who had come to pick him up to join the others but with the problem which he had found himself wasn't in any way good " you seem sick ... are you sure you are alright ? " the captain called out to Ash again.
"I'm not sure, " Ash replied, now being surprised, he was expecting a scoff or a harsh remark, but he had an expression that showed concern and worry ' yeah I think I'm going to die soon ' he thought, trying to feel his body and with the little energy he accumulated, managed to get on his butt.
" was the training that difficult ?" the man asked giving him a pitiful look, Ash managed to crane his head to give the man a proper look, this man looked like one in his early thirties but not looking too young or too old at the moment having a clean face devoid of hair showcasing this well chisel chin that went well with his fair skin and green eyes and he was tall which wasn't a surprise all adults he had met were tall but he gave him the feeling that he was towering over him even though from his pint it was just by a few feet.
He snapped out of his daze looking at his feet " It wasn't that much, I've endured captain Kruger's hell I can manage myself" Ash replied sincerely knowing that he was somewhat saying the truth, yes Kruger training was harrowing and he survived for a few weeks but this was worse and he was barely keeping himself conscious with willpower, the energy he had was now sapped by the strange vision or whatever it was leaving him weaker than what he was previously.
" I see … that means you are not normal then it might be easier then " he said in a tone giving him a meaningful as If contemplating what to do with him ' what's with everyone and that curious look " Ash thought showed how annoyed he was about how curious they always were about him, firstly it was Sir Nicholas then it was Kruger and her ever changing attitude now it is the strange captain who seemed too good looking for his good, he didn't know what they saw making Ash could only give out a tired but silent sigh.
It took a few more seconds after the words he heard settled before he finally processed what he heard. Since he was obviously tired and exhausted, he didn't register the words the captain said. "What would be easier ?" he asked, feeling odd, and at that moment, Ash sincerely prayed he wasn't up for another torture.
