It's been a week since the gate opened in the outer part of the bastion, and the place hasn't been the same, mostly with the disappearance of the youngest member of the squad. The worst affected were his two friends, who didn't seem to know his whereabouts, and with the rumors going around, there was almost no way of knowing.
Some said that he found a way to escape the facility since he didn't look brave enough to enter. Others claimed he had been killed by a monster that came out of it, since there were a few dead bodies found around the scene of the crime, specifically outside, and they were night guards, but the assailant seemed unknown.
Another reasonable piece of information that was going around was that he entered the gate, which was one that Lily and Tian did not want to believe. At this time, they were in the field training, but the air felt different without the little one to keep them company.
Now it was just the two of them training till they couldn't move , " I am going to clear the gate , and you can't stop me " Tian said while short of breath moving to evade as much hits as he could that came from Lily , anyone who heard him said this would be surprised since it was obvious that Lily would be the kind to make such a decision not Tain who rather like to use rationality in his decision.
Lily on her part was vehemently against it and that was the main reason that they were in the fight in the first place, as she tried hard to persuade him into not going with a beating since words were not going through " if there is any who should be going into that thing … it should be me but I didn't because there is something that we aren't seeing here "Lily replied landing a kick direct to his left rib sending him a few step back.
Even if she preferred ranged fight , that didn't mean that she wasn't good when it came to close-range combat; she was even more powerful when it came to close-range combat." I don't care about what you say , I have to rescue him ...he is going to die in there and no one seem to care even you " Tian was enraged pushing his body low to the ground to avoid a hit and closing his distance to Lily only to be knocked down with a kick to the head slamming face first into the ground.
" lets just stop this and think things over ….. we are not sure he is even inside and worse still you can't even barge in even if you wanted the place is shield shut " Lily said tiredly , this time Tian calmed down a little but Lily could see the defiance in his body " I cant lose another like this .... not again " she could hear him mutter under his voice , the pain was evident but they both knew they were powerless.
Just as they were about to calm down properly a voice sounded not too far " good thing that kid died , atleast we have people being serious , bad thing he didn't die in my hand it woul..." the voice was familiar with everyone in the division in fact almost in all the outer bastion as a strong person from the lower class being promoted by ' instructors recommendation ' and a strong member of the melee division ' Ken ' but his title didn't save him from the jaw cracking punch that landed in his jaw sending him reeling.
Before he could even recover, he found himself weightless before being slammed face first too the ground, all of this happened quickly; it took only twenty seconds for all of this, but anyone who looked would have thought it took less.
The moment they heard this, Tian was already off the ground, and without thinking too much, moved with great speed thanks to being enhanced with mana, slamming his fist hard into Ken's face, and Lily followed after grabbing his hair and slamming him face-first into the ground.
But didn't stop, she kicked him in the stomach, sending him across the field. She could take an insult from anyone about herself, but hardly kept it in when it came to Ash. She moved to land another hit when she was grabbed by Tian, who now used rationality in his judgment.
He knew full well that fighting wasn't allowed between members of other squads, and it came with strict punishments. "Let me go ….. I want to kill this idiot, " she screamed angrily, trying to get at him, but Tian managed to hold on. "That is even worse ….. its your turn to calm down, please, " Tian pleaded this time, holding her back with all he could.
He too wanted to continue his swing on Ken but he knew that he couldn't even most especially at the moment when they were grieving one of their members , they could accidentally take his life in the process . the both of them harbored great hatred for the guy since he arrived always making his way into the scout division training ground to pick on him and it grew worse when they found out that he was the one who had almost got Ash killed.
And now Lily had most likely gotten to the limit to which she could handle his bullsh*t that he was exhibiting, Tian was barely enough to hold her back but they got lucky and there were others who came around including two assistant instructors who were present to finally bring her down.
Ken, on his part, couldn't do anything other than leave with a fractured jaw and in the most embarrassing way possible, not being able to put up a fight against any of them, with all eyes being on him; this fact alone meant that he wasn't going to be showing his face anytime soon.
"The captain is back, and he asked for both of you. "One of the assistants met them while L ily sat trying to clear her head; their thoughts immediately went to the fact that they fucked up. Tian seemed remorseful, and Lily didn't seem to care .
"We are here on your orders , sir, "both of them said after their greetings were made. Their captain now looked sleep deprived to an extent that looked like he could have gotten out at anytime holding onto life very tightly. " I have gotten leads on Ash's whereabouts, " he said with a tired sigh.
