Chapter 50 - Chapter 50 Mother

Fuyuki nodded, then rode on Entei and went with Cubone to their dwelling.

The mother and son lived in a small cave. When Fuyuki arrived there, he indeed did not see Marowak.

Instead of seeing Marowak, they found a pile of tree fruits inside the cave.

"Cubone, what are these?" Fuyuki was slightly taken aback, then asked.

"Cubo!" Cubone explained, "These are all things its mother brought back from outside not long ago!"

"Did your mother say anything to you?" Fuyuki asked.

"So it seems that Marowak left late at night," Fuyuki mused to himself.

Tears welled in Cubone's eyes as she shook her head: "cuboo..."

"Don't worry, maybe your mother is just trapped somewhere. Let's look for her in the forest first!" Fuyuki comforted her.

"cubo…" Cubone wiped away the tears in its eyes. Although it was worried and sad, there was no other way now. It could only place its hopes on Fuyuki.

Along the way, they encountered many Pokémon.

"Come on." Without saying much, Fuyuki rode on Entei, carrying Cubone, and began to roam freely through the forest.

Nidoking family, Electivire and Magmar, Rhyhorn, Butterfree, Magneton, Oddish,

They saw Fuyuki and immediately looked over.

Fuyuki mobilized all the Pokémon he could to help with the search.

Most of the Pokémon in the forest had received its help, and upon hearing this, the Pokémon readily offered their assistance.

As the Nido family searched through the forest, they called out the name of Marowak.

The butterfree flew into the air and used its compound eyes to search through the forest.

Electivire and Magmar, these two mortal enemies who often fight each other, have begun to cooperate.

However, after searching for a long time, all the Pokémon found nothing.

The clattering sound seemed to disappear suddenly.

That would be troublesome. Although Marowak might not want to be captured because of Cubone's existence,

"Could it have been captured by a human trainer?" Fuyuki couldn't help but frown.

However, human trainers often knock out and defeat Pokémon before capturing them, taking advantage of their inability to fight back.

They are collected into Poké Balls.

"cubon..."

Cubone was so anxious she was about to cry.

Just then, they arrived at the territory of that Growlithe.

Seeing so many Pokémon gathered together, Arcanine also ran over to join in the fun with a curious expression.

"Woof woof?"

Upon seeing Arcanine, a solution instantly popped into Fuyuki's mind.

As everyone knows, Arcanine is a Pokémon with an exceptionally keen sense of smell.

This is why they are used as police dogs in the human world, working alongside humans.

Thinking of this, Fuyuki immediately said, "Growlithe, Cubone's mother is missing! Can you use your nose to help us find her?"

This Arcanine has a heart full of justice, and upon hearing this, it immediately nodded in agreement without hesitation.

"Woof!"

It first ran up to Cubone, caught the crunchy scent from its body, and then sniffed.

The child searched carefully in the air.

Many Pokémon held their breath, waiting for Arcanine's search results.

A moment later, the Growlithe suddenly barked, its gaze locked onto a direction, and then it led the way.

Upon seeing this, Cubone's eyes lit up.

Fuyuki and Entei quickly followed.

They passed through the forest and came to a range of mountains. They continued along the mountain path, and after passing through a...

After passing through the long, narrow cave, the group suddenly arrived at a secluded valley.

The mother that Cubone was searching for was now lying among a pile of bones with her eyes closed.

Its light had dimmed, the bone it had been clutching had fallen to the ground, and its hands hung limply at its sides.

Upon seeing this scene, even if Cubone was completely ignorant, she would now know what had happened.

It ran forward with a sorrowful expression, embraced its mother's remains, and burst into tears.

"Cubone!"

Looking at the surrounding scenery, Fuyuki instantly understood.

Legend has it that somewhere in the world there is a cemetery that belongs only to the Marowak.

Before their lives come to an end, each Marowak will go there alone to quietly await death.

However, this Marowak was really worried about its child. Before leaving, it did its best to collect a bunch of tree fruits for its child and bring them back to the cave.

This is the last thing it leaves for the child.

And this place... is the legendary burial ground of the Cubone clan.

Every Marowak will travel here alone before its life comes to an end.

The mournful cries of Cubone echoed through the valley, and all the Pokémon witnessing this scene could not help but...

be deeply moved by it.

Fuyuki opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but he didn't know how to start.

But suddenly, he remembered the rainbow feather that Ho-Oh had given him.

It contains the power of Ho-Oh. If you burn it to ashes with holy fire, you can use it on Marowak.

Perhaps then it can open its eyes again!

However, when Fuyuki relayed this message to Entei, he saw it shake its head solemnly.

"It's no use. Lord Ho-Oh's power can only revive the dead. Marowak's soul has already left its body, and its life has come to an end. Even the Holy Ash will have no effect."

"But..." Fuyuki understood the reasoning, but looking at the scene before him, he was truly heartbroken!

"Cubone," Fuyuki stepped forward and gently patted Cubone's back. He wanted to say something to comfort her, but...

Don't know what to say at all.

In this situation, no words will likely have any effect.

Perhaps Cubone needs a hug.

He hugged Cubone in his arms and patted its back silently.

Cubone cried for a very long time, and finally fainted from excessive grief.

It was still raining heavily.

Fuyuki could no longer tell whether the water on Cubone's face was tears or rain.

He helped Cubone up, turned to the group of Pokémon and said, "Thank you all for today. You can all go back now."

Go for it!"

The Pokémon gradually dispersed.

Fuyuki then took Cubone back to their secret base.

While unconscious, Cubone murmured sadly in its sleep; even in its coma, it would occasionally twitch against the wall.

Infected by this emotion, or perhaps moved by the scene, Fuyuki felt a tightness in his chest and leaned against Entei.

"Entei, what should we do?" Fuyuki couldn't help but ask. Actually, what he really wanted to ask was, what would happen to this Cubone without Marowak?

"Hmm..." Entei sighed slowly and replied, "This is something that can only be resolved by itself."
