"Let's just hope Victor manages to invite them," Callum replied. After all, the engagement was their only real opportunity to establish a connection between the two families, and having the royal family present would make the occasion far more significant.
Before they could say anything more, the servants began bringing the food to the table. One by one, they placed the dishes before the family members, filling the table with the aroma of freshly prepared food before stepping back to allow them to begin their meal. Rowan's mother glanced toward Maya's empty seat, then looked around the dining room with a faint crease between her brows.
"Where is she?" she asked.
Rowan reached for his glass and took a slow sip before answering, his tone completely nonchalant. "Mother, you should be planning everything properly so that we aren't embarrassed when the time comes instead of asking where she is all the time. She only has one purpose here, and that's to serve us."
