Chapter 7 - Devil Fruits, Trading and the Multiverse Chapter 7

Disclaimer: I don't own anything other than the OCs I create.

Hogwarts – Headmaster's Office

- Souta -

"Come take a seat, young man." He says as we walk into his office.

Looking around, I see quite a lot of magical items just doing random things, like floating replicas of the planets to a small copy of the Hogwarts train puffing out what looks like candy floss, and once the candy floss reaches a certain height, it just disappears.

But probably the greatest thing in this room is the phoenix resting on his perch, Fawkes. A truly magnificent being, I can just feel the pure life energy being near his presence. The headmaster probably doesn't even realise it, but by just being near the phoenix, he's slowed his ageing down, and any ailments he should have had are just being negated from the passive life energy flowing into him.

"Amazing, isn't he? One of my closest companions, I'm forever grateful for the bond we've forged over the years." He says with heavy affection.

"He really is; to me he feels like pure life energy, you know. He's the reason why you never feel any ailments with your age. I also suspect you have many more years ahead of you as well due to your proximity with him. He doesn't do it on purpose, but the life energy from him seeps into you slightly." I let him know.

"Truly, thank you, old friend; even now you still find ways to amaze me, and thank you, Souta, for letting me know." He says, stroking Fawkes' head, who just leans into his palm.

Both sitting down now, he asks, "So Souta, what brought you to Hogwarts? I should have felt you enter the wards, but even now I don't feel your presence within them."

Damn. I forgot about that.

As I go to reply, Fawkes swoops down to the desk in front of me to peck at the bracelet on my hand.

Of course he can feel it; the damn thing was made from life gold. The headmaster just looks on, curious at what has Fawkes's attention.

Mulling over it some more, I decided to let him know the truth. I had planned to do this anyway at a different time because the old man is genuinely a good person, and I know this because of his ideal fruits.

[Albus Dumbledore's Ideal Mystic Fruits]

Mythical Zoan: Bird-Bird Fruit Model: Phoenix

Logia: Light-Light Fruit

Paramecia: Aura-Aura Fruit Model: Serenity

He has more options involving teaching-based fruits, but these fruits are the ones that stood out to me the most – fruits that suited his personality or alignment the most.

Feeling my conflicted feelings over letting him know the truth this early, Fawkes lets out a soft trill which fills the room with a calming effect.

Looking away from the bracelet and into the eyes of the headmaster, I say, "Have you ever heard of the theory of the multiverse? The very idea that our observable universe is but one of countless others, each with their own laws and properties."

"I can't say that I have, but if what you're saying is correct, then this has something to do with your being here," he says with a thoughtful look.

"That's right, my ancestor found a way to do it and, with the help of a very powerful being, allowed others of the clan the ability to safely do so as well." I say while transforming the bracelet into its proper form.

"This leaf represents my clan, the reason Fawkes is so interested in this is because it was made from a material called Life Gold, which is a gold formed from pure life energy, and as a being of that same energy, it resonates with him." I say, twirling the leaf in my fingers.

"That's a lot to take in. If what you say is true, then why did you choose to appear in the forest at Hogwarts? What is it that you're looking for?" He says, leaning back into his chair.

"The ability we have to travel doesn't let me choose where I go, only the world I can return home to, and what I am looking for while travelling are materials for a power I possess." I say, smiling wryly.

"I see. What is it you wish to do with this power you have?" He says, sounding a bit more unsure now that I said I was looking to use my power.

"You don't have to worry; I'm looking to be a trader, and my power gives me the ability to grant power via fruits, which will be a part of my stock, I could also help you with your current problems." I say, trying to grab his interest.

"What problems are you talking about?" He responds, most likely thinking I mean the Dementors.

"The problem you have with a wraith attempting to come back to life, who goes by the name of Voldemort, and a prophecy regarding one Harry James Potter." I say put it all out there at once.

"Who did you get this information from?" He says in shock, magic flaring to life, putting heavy pressure in the room.

"I didn't get it from anyone; this world is a world I know about, and I can help you with your problem before certain events are meant to happen, like your death or his horcruxes." I say loudly, struggling to fight back the pressure he's exuding.

Hearing a trill from Fawkes that calms him down, he reels back his magic. "I'm sorry, but I couldn't be sure if you had your own plans with young Mr. Potter." He says apologetically.

After calming down, he takes his seat again before speaking up.

"Horcruxes? I had a feeling that he dabbled in vile magic after Harry's second year when he spoke about the diary, but to think it was true… Oh, Tom, what did you do to yourself?" He whispered the last bit more to himself than for me.

"Yes, he made 6 of them, and with the diary gone he has 5 left, but if I'm correct he will attempt to make another one sometime between this school year and the next."

He recoils and pales. "He made that many, to split his soul so many times? No wonder he was insane; not even Herpo the Foul went that far."

"Young man, if you could tell me everything you know about them, then I will assist you in gathering the materials you need," he pleads.

"Don't worry about the materials; I'll gather them as I go along, plus it'll be fun to explore the world a bit, but I would like access to the library for a while. The magic in this world is a lot different from the one in mine. Also, if you and Fawkes don't mind, I would like to use my ability on Fawkes. I promise nothing will happen to him." I ask.

"I see no issue with allowing you access to the library. I will provide the slip for full access myself. As for Fawkes, I'll leave it for him to decide." He says, accepting the deal.

Fawkes hops on the desk and nods towards me, also accepting. With his permission, I tap him on the head as a clear cylinder holding flames within that flicker into the appearance of Fawkes every so often.

1x Phoenix Spirit (Harry Potter)

The headmaster and Fawkes are both staring at the cylinder in my hand. "How did you get that?" He asks as Fawkes keeps turning his head when the flame inside change appearance.

"This is my ability. I can extract a copy of a property, type of energy or even the elements, and this right here is a copy of Fawkes, basically a sort of blank Phoenix copy." I say showing it off, quite happy with my gain.

"What will you do with it?" He asks, curious.

"Well, as I said before, it will be used in making a Mystic Fruit; basically, it will grant someone the ability to transform into a phoenix or a hybrid human-phoenix while also being able to use the abilities of a phoenix." I say to his amazement, even Fawkes seemed amazed.

"Do you think you could have one of the house-elves deliver an apple, please? I will make a Mystic Fruit that will help in cleansing the items of the Horcruxes. The prophecy states Harry Potter or Voldemort must die to one or the other, but the Horcruxes, apart from 1, can be cleansed, which Harry can finish, and if Voldemort is still a wraith at this point, then he will pass on with no anchors left to hold him to the world." letting him know the plan I thought up.

With the apple handed to me, I pulled out the 6 purify cylinders I got from the unicorns and started the process immediately while hoping that I didn't need more than that. After a short time, the process finished, leaving behind 3 of the cylinders and a pure white apple with swirls of a shimmering silver colour.

[Purify-Purify Fruit]

Grants the user the ability to purify; the user can encase their hands with purifying energy, purifying anything they touch. This energy can also be summoned as a dome surrounding the user, purifying anything inside. Both forms can be used to purify anything from curses, toxins, corruption, water, and more.

Fruit Type: Paramecia

Fruit Used: Apple

Weakness: The strength of the purifying ability is affected by the user's own alignment to good and evil.

After the lights show and letting them know what the fruit can do and what happens to it when he passes on, it's safe to say both were in awe.

"This is truly a marvelous ability. What did you use to make it for it to grant such an ability?" He asked in wonder.

"I met some unicorns in the forest, and while I was giving them fruit, I gained the property of purifying from them; just being near them, I felt it." I said, remembering my time in the forest clearing.

"Ah, yes, that would do it, my boy; truly wonderful creatures." He said, nodding.

"Here you go; this is for you to eat. With this cleansing, the horcruxes won't be an issue, and all Harry needs to do is use the basilisk fang on the last one. Speaking of which, I would like to attempt to use my ability on it as well." I ask, hoping he will allow it, as I hand him the mystic fruit.

"Also, once I let you know each of the horcruxes, you will need to bring harry here as there is something else, we need to deal with as well, ask him to bring the map from Fred and George Weasley, he'll need it." I say, remembering a certain rat.

"Truly I cannot thank you enough for all your help, my boy. I will inform Minerva to fetch Mr. Potter and the map from the Weasley brothers. As for the Basilisk, I'm sure Fawkes wouldn't mind bringing you down to take a look. I'll also need to remember to inform Mr. Potter that the corpse is rightfully his." He says, looking more confident in dealing with Voldemort

"So, the Horcruxes are in a few locations. The first is Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem; it's located on the 7th floor opposite Barnabas the Barmy in the Room of Requirements. You must walk 3 times in front of the wall thinking of what you need, and the door will appear. From what I've heard, the room is quite an amazing piece of magic."

"The second one is Slytherin's Locket, which you can find in 12 Grimmauld Place; like the diadem, you shouldn't have any issue with obtaining this one." I say to his confusion.

"The third one is hidden in the Gaunt Shack and is Marvolo Gaunt's Ring. This is the one that would have started the end to your life. On the ring is a nasty withering curse, but you would have grabbed the ring without any hesitation due to the black stone inset into the ring, which you recognised as the resurrection stone." He breathes in sharply as I explain the third one.

Nodding, I continue, "The fourth one is Helga Hufflepuff's Cup, which will be the most difficult one to obtain; it is located within the Lestrange family vault, so you will have to find a way for the goblins to give you access." He winces at the idea of having to deal with them.

"And lastly, this Horcrux was a mistake that not even he realised he made, and that is Harry Potter himself, it's trapped within his scar." Dumbledore looked at me in the eyes shocked at the last Horcrux hoping it wasn't true.

"At least after you eat the fruit, you can purify Harry's scar when he gets here." I say, trying to bring his mood back up, which seems to help a little bit.

Smiling, he nodded a silent thanks to me before eating the fruit, making his decision after knowing each of the horcruxes, though I think the last one helped the most.

Stroking Fawkes as we watched the headmaster use the fruit's powers until eventually, we hear a knock at the door.

Looking towards the entrance as the headmaster tells them to come in, I see both Harry looking confused at why he was called here and Professor McGonagall with pursed lips wondering why one of her lions was called to the headmaster's office outside of curfew.

"Thank you, Minerva; you may go. I will bring Mr. Potter back to his dormitory once we are finished here." he says

"No, Albus, what's going on here? You asked me to bring Mr. Potter here with a stranger who turns up at the school out of the blue. I'm sorry, but I will remain here," she says sternly.

"It's fine, headmaster; she can cover for you while you track the other ones down." I say much to her annoyance.

Chuckling a soft laugh, he says, "If it's ok with you, Mr. Potter, may I see your scar for a moment, please?"

Nodding, Harry agrees with the request.

"Thank you, my boy." Thanking him, he walks over to him as his hands glow a pure white, as he touches the scar. There is a banshee-like wail as a black smoke pours out of the scar until it's completely purified.

With her wand out pointed towards me, she demands, "Albus, what in the world was that, and why were your hands glowing?"

"Peace, Minerva. This young man has only helped us so far. What I did with my hands was purify a dark magic that was left behind by Voldemort, and this ability was granted to me by Souta . Now, how do you feel, Harry?"

"I don't know what that was, headmaster, but I feel great. My scar always hurt slightly and made me feel like I had pressure on my mind, but that's gone now. Thank you, sir." He said in awe.

Feeling his magic, I can tell it's not straining anymore to fight back against the horcrux.

"His magic doesn't feel strained anymore." I say to the others in the room.

Sighing in relief, Dumbledore says, "That's great news. Again, I can't thank you enough for the help you've given me."

Waving him off, I say, "No problem, you are letting me use the library after all."

Turning to Fawkes, I also say, "And I won't forget your help either. I'll make sure to bring some presents when I visit again."

Trilling happily, he rubs his head into my hands.

"Albus, can you please explain what's going on?" She says, putting her wand away.

"I promise, Minerva, I will explain everything in private afterwards; for now, did you bring the map?" He asks.

"Yes, Albus, I brought the parchment they gave me." She says, lips pursed in a tight line, clearly not happy with not being told what happened as she hands the parchment over to Dumbledore.

He thanks her and opens the parchment, only for it to be a blank sheet.

"It's blank," he says, confused.

"What, why those boys?" She says angrily.

Laughing at their confusion, I say, "No, no, it's meant to be like that. Tap your wand on the parchment and say, 'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good,' and it'll reveal itself."

After doing what I said, the parchment reveals a map of the school, which shows us 4 in the room currently.

"What a wonderful piece of magic; do you know who made this?" He asks, staring at it.

"It was made by 4 boys, partly to help a certain friend with a monthly issue at the time of the full moon." I say, hinting towards who it was.

"I see, they always worked well together. What did you need the map for, my boy?" He asks me with a sad smile; the same one Professor McGonagall has on her at the mention of them.

Looking at the map, I say, "It was needed to correct a wrong that was made on the night of the Potters' deaths."

Harry snaps his face towards me away from the map while saying, "What do you mean?"

"What I'm saying is Sirius Black was innocent all those years ago; he wasn't the secret keeper. Lily had switched it to Peter Pettigrew to act as a decoy since they believed Voldemort wouldn't look Pettigrew's way for being so weak. Instead, he betrayed them to Voldemort and escaped once Voldemort died that night. Enraged at the betrayal, Sirius chased him for revenge until Pettigrew cut off his own finger and blew up a gas line, escaping in his Animagus form. Mad from grief, Sirius blamed himself, and Barty Crouch Snr didn't even give him a trial and had him shipped off to Azkaban." I say let them know the truth of that night all those years ago.

A look of horror appears on all their faces as Professor McGonagall speaks up. "How do you know all this, and how do we know you are telling the truth to us?"

Rolling my eyes, I say, "What family has had a rat for the past 12 years, which has clearly passed the natural lifespan of the creature, not to mention it's missing a finger, and all you have to do to confirm it is look over to the Gryffindor dorm."

"N-no, you don't mean." She pales and realises who I am talking about.

"You're talking about Scabbers. Ron's pet rat, aren't you? Are you saying he's been hiding as a rat for years, that he's the one that got my parents killed?" Harry said angrily.

"I am, and he is. Sirius broke out of Azkaban because the minister gave him a copy of The Daily Prophet, and in that issue, it had the Weasley family with one rat sitting on Ron's shoulder. Seeing this set Sirius off, which had him transform into his own Animagus form to escape and hunt Pettigrew down, thinking he was going for you next. He did this because he's your godfather, Harry." I say softly to him.

Calming down after listening to me talk about Sirius he asks, "He is?" to which I just nodded at him.

"Minerva, please use the Floo network to contact Amelia as soon as you can. Also, please tell her to bring some veritaserum with her; let her know it's for a suspected Death Eater who's been dead for years," he says with a grim face after checking the map.

Looking slightly pale, Professor McGonagall replies, "Understood, Albus," before making her way over to the Floo.

"Will that work? I thought veritaserum was illegal without approved usage." I asked.

"Yes, it would be, my boy, but Amelia has no love for Death Eaters, and the law is only for those that are alive, so it is entirely legal." smiling at the fact that he's playing the law against itself.

"So, what do we do now? Do you want us to come with you?" I ask.

"No, you and Harry stay here. I'll go with Amelia and Minerva, and I'll contact Remus to meet up with us." He says before sending a patronus that forms a phoenix flying towards the exit.

Looking at the way it went, I turn and say to him, "I wonder if you can imbue purity into your patronus; it'll make one hell of a combo."

"As interesting as it would be to test my boy, I think it can wait until later."

"True, also when you get Pettigrew, he should have 2 wands on him; one is his own, and the other is Voldemort's."

Nodding, he thanked me for the information.

After a short time the Floo flared to life, and out stepped Amelia Bones, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Wearing black witch's robes and a monocle over her left eye, and in a stern voice, she says, "Dumbledore, I've brought the veritaserum like you wanted, but it won't be leaving my hands until I hear and see what it will be used for. Now tell me what the situation is."

When Remus arrived, he let them both know about what's going on with Sirius and Pettigrew along with proof using the map, and after setting up a plan of action, they left to deal with Pettigrew.

Hogwarts – Library

It's been a week since I got here, and other than the first day, it has been relatively peaceful. I say 'relatively' because that damn poltergeist has popped up a few times to play its pranks on me.

Well anyway, the rat was caught and questioned, revealing the truth of what happened to the Potters, and if that wasn't enough, the dark mark they found on his arm certainly helped. Amelia ended up catching Sirius and said he would get a proper trial; he calmed down after she told him Peter had been caught.

Fudge had wanted to give them both the kiss with no questions being asked, but Amelia got him to come around by telling him that this was a grave injustice committed by those previously in charge, which had Fudge spin it into a tale that he was correcting a wrong and that with his help they caught the real culprit. Fudge is a slimy guy, but at least Sirius is free now.

Harry spoke with shortly with Sirius, who promised Harry that he could stay with him, Harry agreed but only telling him to do his sessions properly with the mind healers. Sirius was adamant he didn't need them, but with Harry being adamant on it, he caved quite quickly, which was funny; he looked like a dog that had been told it was bath time.

A lot of people apparently apologised to Sirius for not believing he didn't do it, but he forgave them, saying it was Crouch's fault for skipping the trial entirely which everyone thought he had; he was mad with Remus for not keeping in contact with Harry though.

That's pretty much everything regarding Peter and Sirius sorted. Well, except that Peter escaped his cell yesterday with apparent inside help. I suppose some things were meant to happen; at least now the manhunt is for him and not Sirius, and to say Sirius was unhappy would be putting it lightly – he almost went out to hunt for him again if the others hadn't calmed him down.

So yeah, other than that, I've just been reading up on all the magic in this world, and it's quite interesting. Dad already gave me the rundown of the various factions and magics they use in our world, but the magic of this world, if I had to say, is more like the devil's in mine, who use magic circles as a focus and imagination and intent to cast their spells, while wizards need a wand for their focus, intent and a verbal command plus wand movements to cast their spells, and both make use of their internal magic.

Magicians, on the other hand, use their internal magic to latch onto the external magic of the world to cast their equation-based magic. The funny thing is, if the magicians learnt about the magic from this world, I have a feeling they could learn to cast it as well.

That's why, with the help of the headmaster, I've been getting copies of the books from the library that I've found an interest in, and in exchange, I said I would bring him some books about the magic the magicians use in the future, as he seemed quite interested in a new way to cast magic. He also said something about the Statute of Secrecy being better protected in the future if muggles learnt to cast magic.

With these books set up in my store, I'm sure I can snatch a good trade or 2 from some of the magician associations. I'll also need to check the bookshops at Diagon Alley before leaving and pick up a wand while I'm there. Wizard magic might not be the most powerful unless you're a titan like the headmaster, but it is a very versatile type of magic.

Potions are another thing that's not heard of in my world, but here they have potions for all sorts of purposes, from granting luck to putting people in death-like sleep, but the real takeaway from potions is Wiggenweld potions; they are basically minor healing potions, and the only family that deals with anything related to that is the Phenex Clan, who have a monopoly since healing is so rare there.

But that comes with the problem of sourcing the ingredients and finding someone to make them for the store, I suppose that can be made easier with a potion Mystic fruit of some kind, but getting more ingredients will be an issue, I'd have to keep hopping back and forth, ahh well I'll find a way later.

Hogwarts – Headmaster's Office

- Albus Dumbledore -

Leaning back into the chair, Fawkes lets out a soft trilling noise, soothing my mind from the events of this week.

"Thank you, old friend."

This week has been the busiest I've been in a long time, and it was all thanks to Souta Takao. Not that I'm blaming him for it; if anything, he's helped more than anyone could ask for.

Not to mention the gift he gave me.

Looking at my hand glowing a pure white, I can't help but marvel at being able to produce such potent purifying ability. Fawkes loves being near it as well, making me chuckle every time he nudges my hand to use it; he's certainly become quite needy.

Minerva hadn't trusted the boy at first, but after explaining the help he has provided, she's come around to him a bit more now, though I haven't told anyone of him being from another world, as it is not my place to speak of it.

I was sceptical about his story at first, but it's quite amazing for someone to have come up with a way to travel to other worlds; it really gets these old bones excited at the prospect of other types of magic that might be out there. I wonder if Nicolas knows anything about it; he has been around for many years, after all. I'll have to check in with him at some point; he and Perenelle are currently on their many times honeymoon, having adopted a new identity yet again.

Shaking my head at their antics, I go back to the letter from the head of the Greengrass family; healing the family of the blood malediction had been made easy now, and as much as I hate using my power and status over others, I needed to make use of the political pull they had over the grey faction.

They agreed to help push for a few laws to better help integrate Muggle-borns into wizarding society more easily, which had kept getting pushed back by the dark faction, in return I helped them with their family's curse; this also stopped Lucius from having any pull with them since they didn't need his family's library for help anymore.

The diadem has already been cleansed of the horcrux, and in doing so, removed the curse on the Defence Against the Dark Arts position. With that, Remus has decided to stay on as a teacher next year, with the bonus of removing his lycanthropy as well. I truly hadn't expected to work, but the power the fruit has given me still amazes me the more I use it.

To see a man plagued by a curse for all his life cry in relief once it was gone has made me grateful for having this ability. I also promised Remus I would help with removing the curse from some of the communities he was with, all looking for ways to remove their curses as well; it would be unfair to give one man his life back and leave the rest to suffer.

Souta has truly helped more than he knows, I would've given him access to the library even without the power of the fruit he has given me, and even though he got something from Fawkes, it was more of a gift on Fawkes' part, having taken an instant liking to the boy, which shows me much of his character, but I digress. A pass to the library won't set me at ease; I will have to find something different to gift to the young man as a thank you.

After thinking about the gift for a bit, I know just the perfect thing that'll do it. I'll have to contact an old friend and see if he's got a spare case; I'm sure this will help Souta on his travels.

"Fawkes, how would you like to deliver a letter to our dear old friend Newt? I'm sure he'd be delighted to see you again." I say with a laugh as Fawkes perks up at Newt's name, doing little taps and trilling while his head bobs up and down.

That settles it then.

________________________________________________________________

Well there goes canon, I was torn between letting Dumbledore know or not but I went with it in the end, I've read a lot of harry potter fanfiction and there is quite a bit of Dumbledore bashing, I genuinely believe he was just old and tired from 2 wars and that he tried his best for everyone in a broken system.

The Flamel's dying in canon hogwash I say, you don't live that long and give up the immortality you wanted so I'll be coming back to them in the future.
