Mike's POV
I left the hospital feeling both despondent and excited at the same time. I hadn't realized that I wanted to declare her as mine for so long until I actually did it.
Now, even Karl couldn't be so brazen about wanting to take her from me.
But I still didn't know how I was going to explain this to Innocent. I have no doubts that I love Innocent, but what I feel for Valerie is so uncontrollable that I can't help but want her. I want her attention, heck I crave it like an addictive drug.
It was only at this moment that I realized that since I found out that Valerie was my mate, I have been appearing in front of her and even giving her punishment just to get her attention. To get her to notice me.
However, I knew that this time I had gone too far. Hurting her like that made me hate myself. I had the urge to hurt myself as well and experience the agony she has suffered too. But I couldn't change anything now.
