Chapter 21 - The Game Begins

If Nikhil is innocent… then who was the man who tried to destroy Elina's life?

And more importantly—what game has Elina just set into motion?

When the truth about Nikhil and her twin sister Selina came out, Elina finally understood one thing clearly—no matter what, Nikhil could never do something so disgusting to her.

Even though Elina meant nothing to him in reality, Nikhil had always believed her to be his wife… and had only ever wished good for her.

A storm of thoughts filled Elina's mind.

If not Nikhil… then who was that man?

Who tried to violate her dignity?

Who was the real culprit?

The police had found Nikhil's fingerprints, and they were about to lock him up when Elina suddenly stopped them.

"Inspector, Nikhil is innocent," she said firmly. "He cannot do something like this. Please… let him go."

On Elina's request, the police released Nikhil.

Jasmine stepped forward, lowering her eyes in shame. "I'm sorry, Elina… for my behavior."

Elina gave a calm smile. "Aunty, you didn't say those things intentionally. You were just misunderstanding the situation. It's okay."

After that, Elina left the station and returned home. David and Jack followed her.

The moment they reached, David rushed towards her. Without thinking, he pulled her into a tight embrace.

"I love you, Elina… I love you so much. I can't live without you. Please don't marry Jack. I'll handle Sharlin… I know you still love me. Don't do this—don't love me and marry someone else…"

Elina loved David too… deeply, endlessly.

But she had already lost one sister forever. She didn't want to hurt Sharlin as well.

For her sister's happiness, Elina had decided to walk away from David's life.

Tears rolled down her cheeks… but not a single word escaped her lips.

Just then, Jack arrived. Without hesitation, he pulled David back and slapped him hard.

"How dare you touch my fiancée like that?" Jack snapped.

David said nothing. He just kept looking at Elina.

Her tears said everything—she still loved him.

Without answering anyone, Elina walked straight to her room.

Everyone was left disturbed…

If Nikhil wasn't the culprit—then who was?

The next morning, Sharlin came to meet Elina.

Ever since she found out that Elina was her sister, she had been drowning in guilt. She kept blaming herself—for betraying Elina and taking her property.

"I'm sorry, Elina… please forgive me," Sharlin said again.

At that moment, David's sister Arohi rushed out of the house in a hurry. She didn't even speak to anyone and drove away quickly.

In her haste, her bag fell behind.

Elina picked it up and called out to her repeatedly, but Arohi didn't stop.

As Elina was about to take the bag inside, Sharlin noticed a few papers scattered on the ground.

She picked them up… and froze.

Her face turned pale.

"E-Elina… look at this…"

Elina took the papers—and was shocked.

"Where did you get these?" she asked. "Why didn't you tell me before?"

Sharlin replied, "These fell from Arohi's bag. I saw it with my own eyes."

"Arohi?" Elina frowned. "But how did she get these papers? Who gave them to her?"

Sharlin called David.

When he arrived, she showed him the documents.

David was stunned. "These are the property papers… the ones you transferred to my name before our marriage. What are you planning to do with them now?"

Sharlin interrupted, "Elina didn't take them. These were in Arohi's bag. Why does Arohi have such important documents? And where was she taking them so early in the morning?"

David looked confused. "Please don't misunderstand me. I didn't give these to Arohi. I don't even know when she took them from my file… but what will she do with these papers?"

Elina picked up her phone and made a call.

"Hello… where are you? Wherever you are, come meet me today. The time has come. You have to step onto the field now.

Play such a game… that even the winners lose and place their trophies in your hands.

And remember—every ball must be a six."

With a faint smile, she disconnected the call and walked to her room.

David looked at Sharlin, confused. "Who did she call? What game is she talking about? Field? Every ball a six? What does all this mean? What is Elina planning?"

Sharlin sighed. "I don't know, David… but one thing I do understand—Elina is very intelligent. Whatever she does, there is always a reason behind it. She didn't become one of the best businesswomen in the world for nothing…"

Sharlin then left for her home.

David stood there, lost in thought…

What exactly was going on in Elina's mind?

Dressed and ready, Elina walked down the stairs.

The moment David saw her, he couldn't take his eyes off her.

She looked breathtaking… like a fairy.

Beautiful, elegant, and powerful.

In that red dress, she looked even more mesmerizing.

As she was about to leave, David held her hand.

"Please, Elina… don't marry Jack. I'll die without you. You still love me—I can see it in your eyes. I'll talk to Sharlin, she'll understand. Just say it once… say that you won't marry Jack. I'll handle everything. Everything will be fine…"

Elina slowly pulled her hand away.

"It's too late now," she said softly. "You should forget everything and marry Sharlin happily. And this time… I don't want to hurt my grandfather. I will marry Jack… for his sake."

If Nikhil is innocent… then who tried to destroy Elina's life?

Will Elina really sacrifice her love and marry Jack?

And who was the mysterious person Elina called to step into the game?
