Chapter 142 - Chapter 142

It was already noon.

Although Ashido Mina couldn't wait to rush straight to the beach and start playing, everyone rejected the idea unanimously—after all, lunch still needed to be dealt with first.

However, they didn't go out to eat at nearby restaurants. The housekeeper had already arranged for a chef, and a lavish lunch had been prepared for them.

Looking at the rich spread of dishes laid out in the dining room, Asui Tsuyu pursed her lips slightly and spoke with a hint of embarrassment.

"Um… Yaoyorozu, you don't need to prepare dinner for us tonight. We'll handle it ourselves."

Yaoyorozu was startled when she heard that.

"Eh? Are you planning to grill by yourselves?" she asked quickly. "That's fine—I'll have the housekeeper buy everything right away."

"N-no, that's not it."

Asui shook her head hurriedly and explained, a little awkwardly.

"We'll just go to a nearby restaurant for dinner. You really don't need to arrange special meals for us anymore."

Although Yaoyorozu had invited everyone here for vacation, the girls still felt uncomfortable being taken care of so thoroughly. It might not be a big deal for Yaoyorozu, but for them, it felt excessive.

After Asui spoke, the other girls nodded in agreement.

Masata, on the other hand, didn't really care. He was already used to this kind of treatment.

After lunch, everyone returned to their rooms to change clothes. After all, coming to the beach and not going out to play would be completely unacceptable.

Masata's preparations were simple. Less than five minutes after going upstairs, he had already come back down.

He sat lazily on the sofa, sipping the herbal tea the housekeeper had prepared earlier while enjoying the cool air-conditioning. To be honest, Masata didn't really feel like going out.

The beach in front of the villa wasn't very large. It curved into a crescent shape along the sea, with rugged reefs on both sides. The fresh sea breeze blew in from the ocean, lifting blue waves that slapped against the shore and rocks, shattering into countless sparkling droplets.

Yaoyorozu had mentioned earlier that this was her family's private beach, so aside from them, there wasn't anyone else around.

As for playing in the water, there was nothing more to say. It was July, and swimming in cool seawater under the scorching sun was pure enjoyment.

Just like Mina and Asui right now—one was racing ahead while the other followed closely behind.

Masata couldn't understand why Mina had the courage to compete with Asui in the water. This was clearly Asui's home turf.

Playing in the sand meant building sandcastles—or burying people halfway into the beach.

Beach volleyball was also a classic activity, popular even long before Quirks ever appeared on the world stage.

Masata swam in the sea for a while as well, but before long, he began to feel a little tired.

He forcefully stuck the parasol he had brought earlier into the sand, then jogged back to the villa to fetch a reclining chair and a large glass of cold drink.
