Chapter 2 - The Cursed Realm

Dark...

 I a# w%a) *s t$!s????

Thoughts and memories began to accumulate in my mind—or at least what I think is called a "mind." My brain should already be crushed... The most recent of those memories is the horrific death which I had faced, but I don't feel anything about it right now...

it's like I am watching some movie in my mind without feeling any sorrow, happiness, or any shred of emotion about it.

'?'

But I think I at least know how to feel weird about something. Or maybe this is confusion... I don't know.

Through my memories, I can conclude that the first thing I should feel right now is extreme horror. Not only because of the miserable 'end' faced by me, but also because of this predicament of mine... I cannot see anything, I cannot feel my body. Is this what they call the afterlife? But why is it so dark? How much time has passed?

I cannot make sense of anything. It's just that, I... somehow I just exist?? I feel like I am some kind of AI who started to gain sentience...

What is I??? I, I, I, I... WHAT THE FCK IS EVEN I? AM I EVEN REAL???

In these memories, there is one particular episode where this guy watched a movie about scientists altering a mass of brain cells, modifying them to develop 'thoughts' and making them process these thoughts as 'a single individual thinking.'

Is that it? Am 'I' just some kind of mass of neurons?

"This boy is jumping to wild conclusions."

"HEHEHE HOW SHOULD WE PLAY WITH HIM?"

"STAY AWAY, THIS ONE IS MINE!"

!!! Other voices? Not mine. I am not alone here?

"KEKEKEKEKE THE INITIAL PHASE IS ALMOST FINISHED."

"My my~ I always enjoy seeing a confused soul getting contaminated. And someone with such a horrific death... I wonder the degree of reaction he will show."

"Sssshhh... hhhhee... hhhhee... IT IS ABOUT TO BEGIN."

Voices. They were few in number at the start, but slowly the number increased. After some time it became unbearable. So many voices overlapping, and every f*cking one of them laughing hysterically like a group of maniacs. I want to shout and tell them to just STFU. But how do I speak? Are my current thoughts reaching them?

The moment I thought that, the voices grew much louder...

Then... I saw red. For the first time after who knows how long, I saw some color other than black. Then...? Pain?

N#($#.. FU(%..W$#)%#K—KRRR—AAAAH—!MY LEG—MY LEEE—AAAAAGGGHHH!

PLEASR—STOP—SOMEONE—AAAAAAAGGGHHHH! IT'S—CRUSHING ME—

"HEHE It started! This is so much fun watching every time."

"Huh? The negative emotions he piled up during his death are even higher than mine? You said that he got crushed by concrete, right?? Then why does it feel like he was 'tortured for years'??"

"Is he going into a trance?"

"Oh my myyy~~ then he is going to experience his death again and again~"

"Kekekkeke this will be a great addition to my servants."

"F*ck off you piece of swine poop, this one will be mine!"

"No!!!! You both already have plenty, leave this one to me!!"

"Stop fighting, let him transform first."

PL#$!&#%$@^$@^B PLEASE MAKE IT STOP IT HURTS!!! WHYYYY ME??! WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS HELL??! I WAS GOOD! I WAS GOOD I WAS... NO. NO. GOD WHERE ARE YOU??? WHAT DID I DO!! I REMAINED DEVOTED TO YOU! WORSHIPPED YOU! HELPED OTHERS WHO BELIEVED IN YOU! THEN WHYY????!!WHAT DID I EVER DO BUT EXIST?? DID YOU KNIT ME TOGETHER JUST TO RIP ME APART??? YOU LEFT ME HERE TO ROT IN THIS HELL??? IS THIS YOUR MERCY?? TO WATCH MY BRAIN SPILL OUT LIKE ROTTEN SOUP WHILE THE WORLD KEEPS SPINNING??NO... NO... WHY SHOULD I BE THE ONLY ONE TO FEEL THIS?? WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO DIE SUCH A MISERABLE DEATH!!! WHY SHOULD THEY HAVE TO BE THE ONES WALKING?? BREATHING?? LAUGHING?#$@^B HOW DARE THEY??? HOW DARE THEY KEEP THEIR SHAPE WHEN MINE IS GONE???

"Nnnnnggghh AH~ Yes, the ecstasy, I can feel it... ohhh~~ YESS~~ SUFFER! SUFFER MORE!"

"HAHAH! He will be of great use. Imagine the chaos that can be caused by him."

"This... how come the corruption is to this degree? I am sure I saw him only getting crushed under concrete... then why?"

"Who cares? Let's just enjoy ourselves."

"YESS YESS FEEL SO GOOD SO GOOOD SOOOO GO-...? Eh? Wh-"

*FLASH*

[Hi there, I hope I am not disturbing]

[THIRD PERSON POV]

It was a realm of bruised geometry.

A stagnant twilight where the laws of physics were usurped by the violence of the wind. There was no sun to mark the passage of time, only a relentless, colourless grey that stretched into infinity, pressing down like a leaden shroud.

Gravity here was not a constant; it was a chaotic, sub-zero current that dragged matter sideways, tumbling formless shapes through a vacuum of silence.

But in a small, volatile pocket of this infinite wasteland, a singularity screamed in crimson.

A thick, abstract geometric formation of red energy churned violently, feeding off the cursed realm itself. The gloomy grey of the surroundings was being vacuumed into the red anomaly, swelling its diameter. Red and grey streaks of lightning distorted and clashed, exploding like acid poured into water.

Surrounding that abomination were beings that appeared as jagged streaks of lightning, yet their forms held a disturbing stability.

Some were dangerously close to looking human.

These astral lifeforms cackled hysterically, celebrating the birth of a new cursed kin.

FLASH

But their celebration was cut short.

Space twisted.

A perfect circular ring shore through the chaos behind them. A figure stepped through. Unlike the erratic, vibrating creatures, he retained a perfect, solid form.

Everything around him was stained in shades of violence, red or pitch black, but he stood untouched. A man in a pristine three-piece suit. It was as if light emanated from within him, perfectly blending into the void yet creating no diffraction.

He held a playful smile as he approached the horde.

"Who?"

"Hi there, I hope I am not disturbing."

In this realm, beings like them held a specific energy... a suffocating pressure known as 'Tamas.' The denser it was, the more apocalyptic the entity.

But the thing standing in front of them? It did not hold a single shred of Tamas. It was an anomaly. If he hadn't walked directly toward them, their senses wouldn't have even registered he existed. He was a void in their reality.

"OYE, YOU F*CKERS! ATTACK! IMMEDIATELY!!"

"You know who that is?"

"He has no 'Tamas'? That is only possible by doing large-scale possession, right??"

"NO! Even after that, some traces are always left behind!"

"T... THEN... he is?"

"FROM ANOTHER REALM!! KILL HIM NOW!"

BOOM!

Hundreds of the cursed beings flared. Their bodies erupted in different shades of malignant red, materializing into sharp, complex geometrical emblems. These structures fused with their masters, and then... the elements screamed into existence.

The black canvas of the void was suddenly painted in violence.

Hellfire, hotter than the core of a dying star. High-pressure greenish gas, bubbling with an acidity that could dissolve the concept of matter itself. Blue spirals spinning with a singular, hungry purpose... to siphon the driving force of existence, be it life force, Tamas, or soul.

Dozens of elements... some targeted directly, others fusing together to amplify their lethality... all aimed at a single man.

The fastest spells struck first. They tore through the air, hungry for blood. And then!

Poof.

They vanished.

Centimetres away from touching the fabric of his suit, they simply ceased to exist.

"HUH?"

"What was that?? His emblem didn't even materialize! What happened??"

"The spells... they just vanished."

Wave after wave of destruction washed over him, but the result was absolute. The entities didn't stop; they poured more power into their barrage, desperate to break through the impossible wall. It was useless.

"That? Is he transporting the impact somewhere else? Then where is his space emblem?"

"Look closely... he is ERASING THEM!"

"And here I thought the fcker who acted first would reveal something... matter cannot be erased, you stupid fck!"

"Kekeke, she is right, Jinn. Did you lose your senses again while getting attached to some human female's ass?"

"Then explain THIS situation, you numbskull! Even if he is from some distant realm, there should be an energy signature!"

"I don't know! I will just keep attacking!"

"Braindead indeed. That's why you were unable to do anything when that priest shoved the cross up your ass."

"That was a mistake! I will get 'em NEXT TIME! Also, why are you using these humane terminologies? You know none of us have brains, right?"

"You people talk a lot, even in this situation."

The man in the suit sighed, his playful smile dipping slightly.

"I hoped to solve this peacefully... but looks like violence is the only answer."

He raised a hand into the stagnant air.

Tap.

He tapped the empty space as if testing the tension of a guitar string.

Visible ripples expanded from his finger, encompassing everyone around. The laws of the realm groaned.

SWOOSH!

He rotated his wrist, acting as a conductor tuning an orchestra. Reality obeyed.

One by one, the lethal spells distorted. The hellfire, the poison, the spirals... they unspooled. They lost their physical form, breaking down into what they truly were at the fundamental level... pure vibration.

Visible waves rippled through the space, harmless and exposed.

CLICK.

He snapped his fingers.

The entities themselves screamed as their bodies destabilized. They were stripped of their monstrous forms, turning into erratic, screeching frequencies. Just sound waves floating in the void.

The man looked at the chaotic noise with pity. To him, creation was nothing but a song... the voice of the Divine. And these creatures? They were just a discordant note.

CLASP!

He brought his hands together in a sharp clap.

Silence.

The vibration stopped. The sound died.

Everything vanished. The horde, the noise, the chaos... gone. Erased as if they had never been spoken into existence.

All that remained was the red abomination in the distance, a pulsating crimson egg on the verge of birthing something terrifying.

And it really would have. If not for his intervention, the entity born from this egg would have been so horrific that humans would have made a new Conjuring movie based on it.
