Inside a medium-sized room at the Stellaron Hunters' base.
Hiroshi, who was resting his head on Kafka's lap, slowly woke up. In his daze, he had a strange dream where 'Old Soldier BBQ' was actually a silver-haired beauty. He rubbed his eyes, feeling something unusual at the back of his head—something soft, elastic, and warm, much like his nights with Madam Herta.
He snapped his eyes open, but instead of Herta, he was met with a charming, mysterious face framed by magenta hair.
"Holy crap!!!"
Hiroshi jolted upright, scrambling back until his shoulders hit the wall. Who are you! Where is Madam Herta? Then, the fog of sleep cleared. He remembered the sting of the battle and the hypnotic voice. This was Kafka. He was in the heart of the Stellaron Hunters' lair.
"Oh my, quite the reaction, isn't it?" Kafka said, a playful smile curling at her lips.
Hiroshi's mind raced. Elio's script... they act according to a predetermined future. Why bring me here? "Let's start with an introduction. My name is Kafka. I'm skilled in Spirit Whisper, controlling the mind," she said, leaning forward with a feigned threat. "So... you'd better be a good boy and listen, otherwise... I'll turn you into an obedient 'marionette'~"
"You!" Hiroshi bristled, his body tensing with the urge to teleport.
"Haha, just a joke. Don't be nervous, little fellow. We mean you no harm; we just want to invite you to join us. Relax" Kafka's voice was full of honeyed temptation. "Think of the benefits. We travel to beautiful worlds. We have cute girls who can play games with you or pilot mecha. Since we'll be under the same roof, it wouldn't be surprising if anything happened"
Liar! Hiroshi thought. She thinks I'm a kid. The Stellaron Hunters are universal fugitives. If I follow them, I'll be wanted on every corner of the galaxy! He looked for an opening, a photo—anything—to lock his coordinates back to the Space Station. But first, he had to play along.
"Really? Where are those two girls right now?" Hiroshi asked, putting on his best act of wide-eyed interest.
Kafka watched him, her index finger tapping her chin. Spirit Whisper allowed her to read the subtle shifts in a person's aura. Even a honey trap doesn't work? He's sharper than Silver Wolf. She decided to shift tactics to the one thing Elio promised would work: his loyalty to his friends.
"Silver Wolf and Firefly are out on a mission with Blade; they'll be back soon," Kafka's expression turned solemn. "Hiroshi, you probably know that The End of the universe is inevitable. But you... you possess the ability to change that. In the near future, the people you care about—Herta, Asta, Arlan—they will die. Join us, and you can make the choice that prevents that regret."
Hiroshi fell silent. She knows. He knew the plot; he knew the catastrophe was real. If he traveled with them, he could gather the Emotion Points needed to become an Emanator-level powerhouse and actually rewrite those tragedies.
"Even if that's the case, why should I believe you?" he asked, dropping the act.
Kafka felt a surge of relief. "I can't prove it to you right now, but stay for a while, and you'll see for yourself."
Hiroshi sighed. He needed the strength. He needed the points. But he wasn't going to make it easy for them. "Fine. I'll join. But I have one condition."
Kafka leaned in. One condition? I'd give him a hundred if it ensures Stelle's safety.
"I want you!" Hiroshi declared.
"Huh!?" Kafka's eyes widened in genuine shock, her composed facade finally cracking. He's more interested in me than the others? Well... if it saves the universe...
