Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 Storm Brewing on Campus

As expected, the tsundere Sheldon didn't listen to Mike's advice.

The rocket he developed went out of control in the garage, smashing a window of the residential building.

When Mike and Connie came out at the sound, they saw two FBI agents in suits escorting Sheldon and Tam out of the garage.

George's family also appeared there, looking at Sheldon worriedly.

Seeing that the two men in suits meant trouble, Connie quickly went up to ask, "What happened?"

As she spoke, Connie tried to shield Sheldon behind her, but she was stopped by one of the men in suits.

"Please step back, ma'am~" The leading man in the suit separated Connie, then looked sternly at the nine-year-old Sheldon: "Did you ever purchase uranium from a Canadian mine?"

Although Sheldon has a very high IQ, he is still a child after all.

At this moment, stared at by the sharp eyes of the man in the suit, he was so scared he couldn't speak, only able to look at his parents for help.

George and Mary had never seen such a scene; facing an FBI investigation at their doorstep, they temporarily couldn't come up with a plan.

On Mike's side, he quietly hooked several light clusters that popped out from Sheldon.

Intelligence Attribute +1

Rocket Development Experience +66...

After merging the light clusters, Mike said, "Sheldon, you don't need to be afraid. Just answer their questions truthfully. With us here, you are safe."

Hearing Mike's words, the two men in suits turned and glared at him warningly, but ultimately said nothing.

And Sheldon, having received support, his fear eased, and he replied, "I... I did think about buying uranium, but the person in charge of the mine didn't sell it to me because I didn't have enough paperwork...

If I had uranium as fuel, my rocket definitely wouldn't have gone out of control."

It must be said that Sheldon is a genius. Without fuel to drive it, he used electricity instead, still successfully "launching" his rocket.

And hearing Sheldon's explanation, the two men in suits felt a bit helpless with this clever child.

Firstly, Sheldon was too young, and many investigative methods could not be used on him. Secondly, the child clearly hadn't realized how dangerous his actions were.

However, the two FBI agents had searched the garage earlier and indeed found no dangerous goods.

The questioning at this time was more of a routine procedure.

And attempting to purchase uranium could not be used as evidence of a crime.

Finally, the leading agent still verbally warned Sheldon for "threatening public safety."

Before leaving, the agent also separately interviewed George and Mary, Sheldon's guardians, repeatedly reminding them to keep a close eye on their child.

A rocket farce concluded with George and Mary and Connie repeatedly lecturing Sheldon.

...

On Mike's side, during the morning classes the next day, he still competed with Sheldon to answer questions.

However, after the blow in class yesterday, Sheldon seemed to have been mentally prepared. This morning, he only contributed one intelligence attribute.

This also made Mike realize that if he wanted to continue to benefit from Sheldon in the future, he would probably need to find more suitable opportunities.

Thinking this way, picking up attributes would be a long-term battle.

At noon, Mike met Cady again in the cafeteria. Today, she wore a red slim-fit T-shirt and tight jeans, which nicely showcased her figure.

Looking at the girl who was much more confident than yesterday, Mike sincerely complimented her a few times.

Georgie, who was nearby, saw such a beautiful girl approach and couldn't help but strike up a conversation.

As a result, he found that the girl who was chatting and laughing with Mike was visibly cold when she spoke to him.

Georgie glanced at Mike's handsome face and found the problem.

Feeling defeated, he wisely chose to shut up, eating his "dog food" while having lunch.

On the other side, Cady happily shared interesting stories from her childhood with Mike.

During their conversation, the girl never mentioned anything about her school, indicating that she still hadn't adapted to school life.

Mike carefully noticed this and, in the subsequent conversation, intentionally led the topic to campus life.

This was also a way to help the girl integrate into the school community more quickly.

Over the course of a meal, the two learned more about each other.

Finally, at the end of lunch, Cady finally mustered the courage to invite Mike to her home.

The girl's sudden invitation surprised Mike a little.

However, thinking that he had nothing to do on the weekend, Mike readily agreed.

After the three parted ways, Mike went to the library alone, wanting to find some books about football rules.

However, after searching the library, Mike couldn't find the book he wanted.

So, during the afternoon self-study class, he went to the back row and had Georgie explain the rules of football to him.

Georgie had a football coach for a father, so he was naturally very familiar with this area of knowledge.

Finally having the opportunity to be a teacher, he patiently explained it to Mike.

Football, this sport, seems simple and brutal, but there are many rules, and almost every position has a corresponding sports manual.

Fortunately, as his intelligence improved, Mike's memory also got better and better. In an hour, he had remembered most of the rules in football.

When self-study time ended, Mike put on his protective gear and walked with Georgie to the football field.

It was August, the hottest time of the year.

Mike hadn't felt it clearly yesterday, but today, after putting on the thick protective gear again, the novelty had worn off, and he only felt that the gear was stuffy and hot.

Somewhat annoyed, as soon as he arrived at the field, he was stopped by three girls.

This time, it was Regina and her two friends.

Because of their beautiful faces and slender figures, the three girls of The Plastics attracted many people's attention with every move.

Regina slightly raised her head, not even looking at Georgie who was beside her. She stared at Mike and said, "Congratulations on joining the football team!"

As she spoke, the girl had a fake smile on her face; if someone didn't know, they would think she was very familiar with Mike.

As the school's Queen Bee, Regina usually waited for boys to cater to her.

Mike, with his outstanding looks, had already been put on her candidate list.

Originally, because of yesterday's incident, she should have kept Mike on a string for a while longer.

However, at noon in the cafeteria, she saw Mike "hooking up" with Cady, the new student in their class.

Feeling a sense of crisis, Regina chose to take the initiative at this time to capture Mike's attention.

"Thank you~" Mike didn't know Regina had so many little schemes.

After thanking her, he nodded to Karen, who was winking at him, and then took Georgie into the football field.

"That's Regina, the school's popular girl. Your damned way with women is truly enviable," Georgie said, reluctantly pulling back his gaze.

Although none of the three members of The Plastics looked at him directly, being able to get so close to those three beautiful girls still made Georgie very excited.
