Chapter 161 - Chapter 162 Redemption

After bidding farewell to the enthusiastic Mr. Lundy, Mike and the others went to the respective changing rooms of the House of Angels.

In the men's changing room, George, who had quickly put on his guard uniform, glanced at Mike, who was dressed in a magnificent angel costume, and couldn't help but mutter, "This isn't fair..."

Mike's pure white angel suit, specially designed for him, had large feathered wings on the back and an angel halo suspended from a headband on his head.

The magnificent attire, combined with Mike's handsome face, made him look like an angel straight out of a myth.

In contrast to Mike's attire, George only had a simple half-body leather armor and a crude long spear in his hand, which made him look more like an extra.

Under George's "resentful" gaze, Mike quickly put on his costume, then went outside with him.

In the hallway, Mary and her daughter also happened to walk out of the women's changing room.

Their outfits were somewhat similar in style to Mike's, but their wings were smaller, and the details of their costumes were not as elaborate.

Seeing the equally magnificent outfits on his wife and young daughter, George looked at his own simple leather armor again and said sourly, "You should be the family—"

Mary, hearing the teasing in her husband's tone, smiled and stroked his protruding belly, saying with a laugh, "Who told you that you're just a guard?"

George, knowing that he was not suited for an angel costume, was silenced by his wife's words.

On the other side, after Missy saw Mike's incredibly handsome look, she circled him several times with her short legs and cheered, "Mike, you are so handsome today!"

Receiving the little girl's sincere compliment, Mike smiled, then looked her over and said, "Our little angel Missy is also very cute today."

With her white angel mini-suit and miniature wings on her back, Missy's current appearance was indeed very cute.

"Thank you!" Missy thanked Mike very politely, and then cheered happily in the hallway: "Missy is a little angel—"

"Alright, Missy. We should go in and get ready." Mary, seeing that it was almost time, called out to her frolicking young daughter and led them into the venue of the House of Angels.

The pure white room was adorned with "white clouds," and the background wall was painted with a massive image of the Son, the Mother, and the Holy Spirit.

At a glance, it truly felt like heaven.

Mary and Mike, upon entering, sat at the left and right ends respectively, no more than five meters apart.

"What if no one likes my House of Angels design?" Mary, sitting down, quietly asked her husband behind her.

Despite having made many preparations beforehand, at this moment of final assessment, Mary, as the planner, couldn't help but feel worried.

"It's alright, the event has just begun, people will come…" George, dressed in his guard uniform, quietly comforted his wife. Then, he said with certainty, "Don't forget, we still have Mike, our trump card."

In fact, during the time they were talking, someone in the hallway had already noticed the handsome Mike.

Soon after, several young girls, pushing each other, went up to Mike.

Of course, they weren't there to pray, but rather to admire Mike's "beauty."

The girls chattered around Mike, some asking for his name and other information, and others wanting his contact details.

Mike, on his part, maintained a polite and distant smile on his face, nodding occasionally to humor the girls in front of him.

Of course, if the girls' looks were even better, Mike might have shown a more enthusiastic side.

No matter what, who isn't a member of the looks-first club?

On the other side, Mary, who was less than five meters away from Mike, also heard what the girls over there were saying. She frowned and said, "They don't want to come here to confess at all."

Mary's purpose in holding the House of Angels was to help those who needed redemption. Clearly, this group of girls who had just entered did not meet her requirements.

"Be patient, Mary, the event has just begun. After a while, someone who needs help will come in," George continued to comfort his anxious wife.

In fact, as soon as the church's Halloween event began, a large number of tourists entered.

However, compared to the unremarkable House of Angels, more people chose to go to the more exciting "The House of the Possessed."

Mr. Lundy was very busy at this time, dressed as Satan, he was leading groups of visitors to tour his designed Seven Deadly Sins rooms.

On the other side, Georgie was aimlessly wandering the streets.

Suddenly, he saw a beautiful, dejected girl on a bench in a corner by the roadside.

"Hi, beautiful lady, do you need help?" Georgie walked over and asked politely.

Veronica looked up at Georgie upon hearing his voice, shook her head, and said, "Thank you, no. I just want to be alone for a while."

Veronica, from a single-parent family, had a big fight with her dad today because of her boyfriend, and then ran away from home.

Leaving home, she had expected to spend an unforgettable Halloween with her boyfriend.

However, when she found her boyfriend, she saw him from a distance, intimately holding another girl's arm.

This was precisely the reason for Veronica's current dejection.

Georgie noticed that the girl was upset, and he hinted, "Perhaps I can take you to do something fun."

Veronica understood Georgie's underlying meaning, and a desire for revenge on her boyfriend immediately arose in her heart. However, she still asked knowingly, "So what do you want to take me to do?"

"Uh…" Georgie didn't want to be too explicit. He thought for a moment and suggested, "I can take you to watch a movie first, and then we can have some private activities."

Since it was Halloween, the movies playing in the cinema would definitely be horror films.

Georgie, with some ulterior motives, was already imagining the scene of the girl, terrified in the cinema, burrowing into his arms.

To be fair, Georgie's looks were several grades below Mike's. But among ordinary people, he was still quite good-looking.

Veronica, feeling rebellious, gazed at Georgie for several more seconds, then agreed, "Alright, let's go to the cinema."

And so, Georgie successfully got a date with the girl.

Therefore, under his guidance, the two walked towards the cinema.

"What are they doing there?" Veronica asked, staring at the crowded entrance of the church as they passed by.

"Oh, it's the church's Halloween event. My mom is the planner…" Georgie said casually.

It was clear that he wanted to show off a bit in front of the girl.

"Is that so? Then let's go take a look." Veronica was currently in a state of confusion and greatly needed something to lean on emotionally.

"Wait!" Seeing his private date about to be ruined, Georgie really wanted to stop the girl.

But before he could say more, the girl had already gone to the church entrance.

Arriving at the event location, Veronica looked at the signs for the House of Angels and "The House of the Possessed" on either side, then turned and asked, "Your mom is the organizer, so which side should we go to?"

Georgie reacted quickly. He realized that Mike was in the House of Angels, and he couldn't let the girl see him. So, he said, "It looks like "The House of the Possessed" is more interesting."
