Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 System Update

Peaceful campus life passed quickly. In mid-March, Takatsuki once again accumulated forty draws worth of crystals.

Adding the ten draws he had made at the beginning, he could now reach fifty draws for character cards in one go.

Although he was still halfway to the guaranteed draw, Takatsuki felt that he might be able to draw an S-rank character card without needing to reach the guaranteed draw.

Why? Because of Kiana, of course!

Takatsuki decided that he would never draw cards himself again!

After all, his luck always only hit the guaranteed draw, but Kiana? She not only hit the guaranteed draw but also got two A-ranks!

And why not just do ten draws and then look? That would be too frequent, and he was still worried about being found out. Also, it's not good to always trouble others. As for why he didn't save up for a hundred draws before finding Kiana?

That's because Takatsuki noticed that Honkai Beasts were appearing more and more frequently recently. It seemed that the Honkai Eruption was not far off.

Actually, if it were just to escape the Honkai Eruption, Takatsuki's correct approach should be to take Raiden Mei and the others out of Changkong City.

But this time, the Honkai Eruption was man-made, and Raiden Mei was the core. Even if they avoided this one, there would still be a next time.

Moreover, they were still within the scope of the plot, so there wouldn't be major problems. Who knew what would happen if they deviated from the plot?

"Are you drawing again?"

That evening, when Takatsuki went to Kiana's house, he placed his phone on the table again.

Kiana didn't refuse and reached out to help Takatsuki tap several times in a row, skipping the gacha animation effects. After all, he was going to draw forty times; watching each one would take forever.

Takatsuki also temporarily ignored the effects of the cards he drew and only focused on the color of the cards.

After forty draws, Takatsuki was so happy he almost jumped for joy, looking at the one golden and seven purple light effects that appeared before him.

But he still held back and said to Kiana, "Thanks, I'm going back now."

"Huh? Is that all?"

Kiana scratched her head: "What game are you playing? Can I download it and play too?"

"Uh, this game can't be downloaded. My friend made it himself. I'll tell you the details later."

Takatsuki quickly found an excuse. "My friend made it," as everyone knows, "I have a friend" usually means oneself.

Returning to his room quickly, Takatsuki looked at the gacha results before him, ignoring the blue and white lights, and first clicked on the golden card.

President (S)

Skills:

D4C: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Through the act of being sandwiched, it can send objects or people to an adjacent world, or bring them from an adjacent world to the base world. Any existence other than the user, when encountering each other in the same world, will attract and merge, then undergo an annihilation phenomenon, disappearing from the world.

Love Train: Generates a wall of light, a "spatial rift." Only the user and what is on his person can enter it, and it converts all attacks and misfortunes into some form of "misfortune" and randomly sends them to other places in the world.

Introduction: "My heart and my deeds are as clear as a mirror; all my actions are justice!"

A Stand!

Takatsuki had watched Jojo, and was even obsessed with it for a long time. Although he only watched the first few parts, he still knew the names of some famous villains and their Stands in Jojo.

D4C's inherent power was only to cross adjacent worlds, while Love Train was the President's power after he had gathered the corpse parts.

However, Love Train's weakness was still very obvious: things on the user's person would not be blocked. Takatsuki had read many analyses written by others; the method to defeat the President at that time was the commonly used spin power within the plot, utilizing gravity.

The difficulty at that time was because the protagonists only had that one method.

If one knew about it beforehand, there were still many ways to counter it, just like the invincible Accelerator could theoretically manipulate all vectors, but he could be defeated by many methods. The simplest would be to evacuate the air around him before he used his superpower to control the air's vectors, but how many people could do that?

So, the enemy's strength is merely due to one's own weakness and insufficient means.

Although he drew a boss-level character card, Takatsuki felt nothing inside.

Because…

He couldn't use him at all!

A level one player's cost was only 5, while an S-rank character card required 7 cost! He needed to level up twice to use him.

And as of now, he still had no way to level up.

After putting the D4C card aside, Takatsuki took out the remaining seven purple cards.

Diavolo, Kishibe Rohan, Higashikata Josuke, Okuyasu Nijimura, Ghiaccio…

Five familiar names. Had he stumbled into a Jojo nest?

Takatsuki remembered that he had once drawn an item from the Jojo world, the Red Stone of Aja, but since it had no supernatural power, he had thrown it into his backpack and forgotten about it.

The remaining two A-ranks were Chrollo from Hunter x Hunter and Kredo from Devil May Cry.

Kredo was Nero's childhood friend's brother and also the Knight Captain of the Order of the Sword. It couldn't be said that he was weak… only that he wasn't strong enough, and his abilities were very ordinary. Moreover, this demonization thing looked unreliable.

Takatsuki immediately put this card aside without a second thought. If he had drawn Dante, Nero, or Vergil, he might have considered it, but these three, by no means, could be A-rank. They would probably be SS or even SSS-rank. Even a rookie Nero, without demonization, should at least be S-rank, given his ability to easily defeat Kredo.

As for Chrollo, Takatsuki initially thought the system had misjudged, but then he looked, oh…

Not a single Nen Ability collected.

Chrollo's Nen Ability was Skill Hunter, which allowed him to steal other people's Nen Abilities. His strength in the story was partly due to his strong Nen foundation, and partly because he had accumulated many Nen Abilities over the years.

But what Takatsuki got now was a blank slate, and this world didn't even have Nen…

Perhaps that was why he was rated A…

The last five Stands: Diavolo erases time, Kishibe Rohan can turn anyone who sees his drawings into a book and freely modify them, Higashikata Josuke can repair all things, Okuyasu Nijimura can erase space, and Ghiaccio can generate extremely strong freezing abilities.

None of them were weak; they were much stronger than Ezio. However, Ezio was more about functionality, as an assassin is not just about killing.

But…

"Goodbye, Ezio!"

Takatsuki unhesitatingly switched to Diavolo's character card.

A Stand with a red body and white net-like patterns appeared behind him.

"King Crimson…"

As a deep voice sounded, the surrounding environment suddenly changed. The apartment walls instantly shattered and disappeared as if rising.

Takatsuki felt as if he was standing in an infinite universe.

Stepping forward, as long as he was willing, the walls of the room could not stop him, and the floor of the building would not be a problem for him.

During this period of time deletion, he could not affect anything, nor would he be affected by anything else.

Until the dozen or so seconds of deletion time ended.

Takatsuki was already standing outside his room.

After a brief rest, Takatsuki tossed a coin into the air, and it fell straight towards his face.

"King Crimson!"

Looking at the coin that had slowed down due to time deletion, another scene appeared in Takatsuki's eyes.

The coin landed on his face, then bounced off and rolled into the gap of the elevator.

But in reality...

The coin could no longer affect him, but after it passed straight through Takatsuki's body and fell to the ground, it bounced a few times and then coincidentally rolled into the gap of the elevator.

"That's great..."

As the experiment concluded, a smile appeared on Takatsuki's face. It was already like this at just A-rank; he was already looking forward to drawing more S-rank powers with Kiana's help in the future.

However, the first objective at hand was still to raise his own rank.
