Chapter 118 - SURVIVAL 36: PROMISE part 4

"How could you?" Heavien interrogated Leonthan with emphasis. "What else do you want now that you've killed so many?"

"I want you to choose."

She wondered about what he said. "What do you mean?"

"Choose between that guy and me."

Leonthan or Trake?

"Why would I do that?"

"We all know that this game only accepts one victor, so our number must be reduced."

He's right. There should be only one, but there must be a way to hack this one, too, just like what Jecko did. If only she could save one life, at least... it would mean everything to her. She went back to her senses.

What is Leonthan planning for her to choose between them?

"And when I've made a choice?" She asked him.

"Then the battle will be two against one."

So, that's his purpose?

They will fight each other in the end. She should have expected this. What good is this game if there is no one to fight with? Leonthan showed that he was not afraid or remorseful of his actions. He just calmly looked at the two of them while waiting for her answer.

"It's okay, Cy. Choose what you think is best for you." Trake leaned over, staring at her gently. He smiled at her sparingly, as if to say, 'it's okay, you can do this'.

Trake thinks maybe she's on Leonthan's side. Before she answered his question, she questioned him again.

"Why are you so complacent? Are you that confident that I will choose you?" She questioned Leonthan out of frustration.

Why is he like this? He doesn't even get goosebumps from what he's doing!

"Haha! It's not what I think, but somehow." And he even has the mood to laugh. Leonthan, who are you really? "Think about it, if you choose him, when the two of you kill me, do you think it will be easy for you to kill him, who is a good friend of yours?" What is he trying to do with her? "If you choose me, you will be motivated to kill me last because I'm already your enemy."

Leonthan wants Heavien to kill her friend, Trake. He's playing with her feelings, and he's enjoying it! How mischievous this person has been. He has a point, and the choices he has given her are maddening!

Yes, it is never easy for her to kill, regardless of a friend or a foe. Even though their family is broken, and she's had hardships in life, her mama never taught her to be this kind of person. And the former Leonthan she met was never like this! Crazy how this game can change a person.

Heavien lowered her head for a moment before she could answer his question. Trake held her hand to calm her down. Maybe it's too obvious that she's disgusted and frustrated with Leonthan.

She had no idea that this was his other side. He is already a psychopath. Even though the physical pain she feels from Seyah's attack on her earlier is excruciating, it can never match the pain Leonthan gave her. At their level now, she should trust no one because Trake can also betray her at any time. But in her situation now, she already knows who she can trust more.

The rain finally stopped. At the same time, the moonlight focused on half of the boy's face that she used to trust. What has happened to your eyes, once full of love and hope? She can no longer read your eyes. You're a complete stranger to her.

Heavien took a deep breath and looked straight at him. "Trake. I'll be with Trake."

"That settles it," Leonthan stated and smirked wryly.

She could already hear his deep voice clearly because it was no longer raining. He presented the knife held in his left hand. He wiped the blood dripping from it with his right hand. He gripped the knife tightly again as if he were ready to kill.

"Cy," Trake stopped in front of her and pulled away from Leonthan.

"Running away is futile. You'll have to face the consequences. Two against one, remember?" Leonthan reminded them.

"He's right, Trake. I must fight too."

"I can't allow you."

"We'll fight together," she stated.

She could feel him being resistant. Even though Trake and Heavien are two, they shouldn't ignore Leonthan's strength. He has already killed many of them, so there's a possibility that they will also be among those he will kill.

"This is all I can say, Cy," She turned to what Trake was saying. "No matter what happens, promise me that you will live."

She fell silent at what he spoke about. Can she really promise him that? Can she live? Is she going to win the game? Or will everything she worked so hard for come to nothing?

She can't even keep his promise earlier of accepting the truth of what Leonthan has become. She is thankful, and she has reached this level. It's rare, so she considers herself extremely lucky, and with the help of her friends, especially Leonthan—the old Leonthan.

When she is this close, is this the time to give everything up?

"Cy, I need your answer."

"U-Um, yes. I promise."

He patted her head and smiled.

"I know you're a strong person, so I trust you. Now, come!"

She smiled because of what he quoted. Trake, she admires your strong and cheerful personality. She hopes nothing but for a world of peace. Leonthan seems serious, as if he can kill them at any moment.

"Let's end it here." Leonthan stroked his wet hair, blocking his face.

She has her knife ready. Ever since Seyah attacked her, she has been ready. She always has her weapon with her, and she is more alert for any sudden attack.

"Hyaaa!"

She heard the rumbling noise of a knife grinding. Aside from wielding a knife, they also fight each other through kicks and punches. She can't leave it all to Trake!

She hurriedly ran closer to the two. She knelt with her left hand supported and kicked Leonthan's right foot so that he would lose his balance and fall.

What?!

Leonthan rashly raised his foot that she should have kicked. How did he do that when he's focused on Trake? When she was stunned by what he did, she looked at him. He taunted her, then turned his attention back to beating Trake.

"Argh!"

She is worrying when Trake writhed in pain.

Leonthan swatted away his arm and was about to stab her when she kicked his left hand holding the knife. She smirked when his knife flew away. He has no weapon now! She kicked his knees. It was effective, so he released Trake from the bondage. Trake moved away from him as he groped his broken arm.

"You'll pay for this," Leonthan threatened them.

His eyes seemed to have lost their sanity. He stood up straight and attacked closer to Trake. She was taken aback when Trake also approached him.

"No!" That can't be. He still has a broken arm.

What happened next hit her. Even though Leonthan no longer has a knife, you can really tell he has experience in fighting someone. And because their uniforms are wet from the downpour, Leonthan's body figure can be seen subtly. His fine muscles made her shake her head.

Leonthan had no knife, and Trake had a fractured arm; the fight was getting fair for both. However, she can turn the tables by helping Trake.

She is troubled when she sees that Trake is having a hard time. It is hard to fight well because of his condition. His mouth and the side of his eye is bleeding.

We got this.

"Hya!"
