Chapter 3 - The Girl With White Hair

Half a year flew by in a blink.

That night, Vyon read a book in his room after taking a bath. Before long, several notification messages appeared.

[Cumulative reading of one hundred million characters achieved.]

[Biometric Attribute Acquired: Photographic Insight]

[Photographic Insight: Photographic memory, learning ability reaches the pinnacle of mankind.]

After reading the attribute description, Vyon casually flipped to a page he hadn't read and rapidly scanned the content. Once done, he closed the book and tried to recite the entire page from memory.

He discovered, to his delight, that he could recite everything word for word without error.

He truly had a photographic memory.

By the time night deepened and his parents had gone to their room to sleep, Vyon slipped into his parents' office. He turned on their work computer and found a high school mathematics video on calculus to watch.

In his previous life, during his high school years, he'd been tormented by calculus. Now, he was going to use it to test the effect of Photographic Insight.

[You are studying mathematics. Mental Strength +1, Logical Thinking +1, Calculative Ability +1...]

About half an hour later, the video ended.

Vyon felt enlightenment pouring into him, and he instantly understood calculus. He immediately searched for past college entrance examination papers and worked on several problems involving calculus, easily deriving the answers.

In his previous life's senior year of high school, no matter how hard he tried, he could not figure out calculus. But in this life, being only in kindergarten, he solved them with ease.

Is this what it's like when one's learning abilities reach the pinnacle of humanity?

From this moment on, I am a genius with both literary and martial prowess.

The next morning, Vyon arrived at the kindergarten for his weekly intelligence development class.

The teacher of the class was a very young woman, tender as if she had just graduated from high school. Everyone called her Miss Berry.

In class, Miss Berry posed a question to the children.

"If the teacher gave everyone one hundred credits and asked you to buy the same thing to fill up an entire classroom, what would you buy?"

"Buy chocolate, because chocolate is delicious!"

"Then I'll buy ice cream!"

"Daddy likes graphics cards, so I want to buy one for Daddy!"

The children answered eagerly, none of them hitting the mark.

"Are there any other answers? There's a reward for the right answer!" Miss Berry looked around the class and asked.

However, no child was able to come up with an answer.

Miss Berry eventually revealed the answer: "We can buy candles. As long as the candles are lit, their flames would light up the entire classroom."

Below, Sophia grumbled, "I really want Miss Berry's reward, but I'm too silly to answer..."

Hearing the little girl's grumble, Vyon stood up and looked toward Miss Berry. "Miss Berry, I don't think candles will work."

"Oh?" Miss Berry was surprised, not expecting any child to refute the standard answer. Curious, she smiled and asked, "Vyon, why won't candles work?"

"Because the classroom has tables, chairs, and all sorts of things. In the candlelight, these things will all cast shadows."

Miss Berry's eyes lit up. Although Vyon's answer seemed a bit nitpicky, she liked this kind of thoughtful child.

"Then, Vyon, what do you think could fill up an entire classroom?"

Miss Berry asked this as a formality, not really expecting Vyon to have an answer.

However, Vyon's next reply dazzled her.

"I would use the one hundred credits to buy a dress for Miss Berry, and then the joy of Miss Berry receiving the dress would fill the entire classroom."

"You, you want to give me a dress?"

Miss Berry's eyes widened in disbelief. This answer was too perfect! Could a four-year-old child come up with this?

After class, Miss Berry took Vyon to the office, handed him a box of puzzle toys, and said with a sweet smile: "Vyon, Miss Berry really liked your answer in class. As a reward, this puzzle toy is for you."

"Thank you, Miss Berry."

Vyon accepted the gift, feeling utterly indifferent. With the Photographic Insight attribute, he didn't need a puzzle toy to help develop his intelligence.

Thus, as soon as he returned to the classroom, he gave the puzzle toy to Sophia.

Receiving the gift made Sophia very happy. She held onto the puzzle toy and couldn't let go, her eyes full of adoration for Vyon.

Three long years of kindergarten passed just like that.

Vyon and Sophia, a pair of childhood friends, had both successfully graduated from Rainbow Kindergarten. From four-year-old toddlers when they first started to now seven-year-old children, they'd left a significant mark on their lives.

"Come on, everyone, line up and smile for the camera!"

In Rainbow Kindergarten, teachers were organizing the senior class children for a photo to commemorate their graduation.

"Sophia, come here and take a photo with Vyon," Rachel called out.

Sophia ran over with a beaming smile to take a photo with her favorite person.

Vyon looked at Sophia and realized that his childhood friend had grown into a beauty that was almost unrealistically stunning. She was a dazzling presence in the entire kindergarten and the secret crush of most little boys.

Fortunately, his own looks weren't bad either. And in the past three years, he had swept all the awards in Rainbow Kindergarten, which made his charm even surpass Sophia's.

After the photo session ended, Melissa found Rachel and asked: "Rachel, have you decided where you're planning to send Vyon to elementary school?"

"I feel like all the elementary schools nearby are more or less the same, so we're thinking of sending him to Sunshine Elementary which is closest to our home."

"Sunshine Elementary is quite good. Then I'll have Sophia join as well."

Upon hearing this, Sophia immediately looked at Vyon with wide, beaming eyes. "Vyon, we can continue being classmates in elementary school!"

"Yep, continue being classmates."

"Then for middle school, high school, and university in the future, can we keep being classmates?"

"Sure," Vyon said with a smile.

He had grown accustomed to having Sophia by his side and enjoyed this feeling of growing up together. He hoped it could continue forever.

The summer vacation went by quickly. In the blink of an eye, it was back-to-school season in September.

For Vyon, life in elementary school wasn't much different from kindergarten. He spent his time in class immersed in his own books, delving deeper into the background of this world. When class was over, he would quietly find a secluded corner and intensively train his body.

The only difference was that Vyon no longer needed his parents to drop him off or pick him up. He chose to walk to and from school, giving himself more freedom.

When Sophia saw that Vyon walked to school, she also clamored to join him. Her parents eventually agreed, thinking that with Vyon around, their somewhat clumsy daughter would be well protected.

One morning, while waiting for Sophia to finish breakfast, Vyon had a thought and opened his character panel to check the data.

[Name: Vyon Vermilion]

[Age: 7 years old]

[Biological Level: Ordinary Tier 2]

[Biometric Attributes: Relentless Training, Photographic Insight]

The Biological Level was still Ordinary Tier 2.

However, compared to when he first broke through two and a half years ago, Vyon's strength had improved significantly.

He could lift a two hundred kilogram barbell with one hand. His vertical jump could reach two meters. His hundred-meter sprint broke the eight-second barrier.

Each piece of data far surpassed the world records of his previous life. If he were in his previous life, he would be akin to a superhuman.

But in this mutated Earth where extraordinary powers exist, he was still far from being a "superman."

"There are too many powerful beings in this world that are beyond understanding. I must work hard to evolve, striving to reach that realm one day..."

At this moment, Sophia came out after finishing her breakfast. She wore a light blue summer school uniform and hopped energetically toward Vyon. "Vyon, let's go!"

They arrived at Sunshine Elementary. Vyon and Sophia were still deskmates, but they never talked during class, quietly doing their own things.

Vyon was reading an extracurricular book he brought from home. Sophia was attentively listening to the teacher's lecture.

Initially, during kindergarten, Sophia seemed a bit clumsy. But upon reaching elementary school, she became unusually intelligent, steadily scoring second place in every exam—thanks to good coaching from her teacher parents and tutoring from Vyon.

In the middle of class, as the math teacher walked past Vyon and saw that he was reading a different book from yesterday, she couldn't help but ask with a smile, "Vyon, have you finished the 'Biological Structure' book from yesterday?"

Vyon turned to the next page without lifting his head. "Mm, I've finished it."

He always scored full marks on math exams, earning himself the right to read extracurricular books during class.

The math teacher couldn't help but exclaim, "Vyon, you really are amazing."

The other students in the class looked on with envious expressions.

---

In the days that followed, Vyon scored first in every school exam and broke school records in every sports meet. Whether good students or bad ones, they all felt a sense of reverence toward him.

Just when he thought his six years of elementary school would pass uneventfully, one day during the first semester of second grade, a very special transfer student arrived in his class.

It was during math class. Midway through, the homeroom teacher suddenly walked in with a white-haired girl and told everyone she was a transfer student.

The moment he saw the white-haired girl, Vyon sensed a breath from her that did not belong to a human being.
