Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 Making Money!

Johny Lee was completely stunned by the stock price on his screen. He froze for over a second, his brain struggling to process the number.

It hit 0.020?!

He screamed internally.

"BACK! BACK! BACK!!"

...

Flash!

His vision blurred and twisted!

"Time to start work." Jane snapped her compact mirror shut, finishing her post-lunch touch-up.

"It's one o'clock. I'm going to print some things." Tammy walked past Johny's desk, heading toward the photocopier.

Time had returned to the exact moment the afternoon session opened!

Johny took a deep breath, not daring to delay for a millisecond. He quickly clicked on the trading terminal to look at the Changhong Warrant.

On the screen, the price was still dead at 0.002 yuan. There were more sell orders than buy orders, with several million shares pressing down on the ask price. There wasn't a single sign of life!

I made it!

I made it back in time!

Johny was overjoyed but forced his hands to stop shaking. He clicked on the trading software to log in.

If it were a few days ago, he definitely wouldn't have remembered his account number and password; he hadn't touched his personal account for years.

But because he had been picking stocks for Director Zane all week, the login details were fresh in his mind.

Click-clack-click-clack.

The trading system connected quickly.

He looked at his available balance: 2.35 yuan, almost zero.

When Johny used to open a custody account with his mother years ago, he linked it to his current bank card. All his savings and his recent salary were on that card, totaling exactly 2,000 yuan.

Click.....He hit the "Bank-Securities Transfer" button.

Two seconds later, the balance of 2,000 yuan appeared in his stock fund account!

I can buy now!

Without thinking, Johny entered the maximum amount of shares he could buy with 2,000 yuan at the rock-bottom price of 0.002.

It was an all-in bet.

With an excited heart and trembling fingers, he smashed the CONFIRM key.

Ding...

A trade at 0.002 yuan was immediately executed.

Because the price was so low, essentially worthless paper, the volume of shares he bought with just 2,000 yuan was astronomical. It was a massive brick of shares.

The trade went through!

I did it!!

He let out a long, shaky sigh of relief. He felt that his heart had never beaten this frantically in his entire life.

Come on, buddy! Rise! Rise quickly!

Suddenly, as if hearing Johny's silent prayer, the warrant board shook.

A massive buy order of over five million lots crashed down, swallowing up all the sell orders at 0.003 yuan in a single gulp.

Immediately following that, institutional buy orders of millions and tens of millions were executed one after another. The stock price ticked up instantly.

0.002 to 0.004.

It had already doubled! And the upward trend showed no sign of slowing down.

Johny clenched his fists under the desk, staring at the screen without blinking, his breathing ragged.

0.004... 0.007... 0.011...

The Changhong Warrant was skyrocketing like a rocket!

Johny was incredibly excited, but he quickly snapped back to reality. It wasn't time to celebrate yet. He had to exit at the top.

He frantically clicked on the sell tab.

He didn't know exactly how high the warrant would rise in this timeline, but he had seen it hit 0.020 a minute ago in the future.

To be safe, setting it at 0.020 yuan would guarantee a sale. He couldn't be too greedy.

0.015... 0.017... 0.020...

Johny slammed the mouse button. "SELL!"

0.021... 0.022...

The warrant's price paused at 0.022 yuan for a split second.

Then, gravity took over. Several massive sell orders came crashing down like a deluge. The trading volume was unprecedented, and the speed of the crash was even faster than the rise!

0.019... 0.017... 0.013... 0.009... 0.005...

The price collapsed back to nothing!

Johny slumped in his chair, wiping sweat from his forehead. His heart was racing so fast it hurt.

He didn't even know what to feel. The Changhong Warrant was the last of its kind, and today was its death day.

He thought he wouldn't be able to use his "BACK" ability to swing trade, but against all odds, he had seized the final opportunity of a lifetime.

"Johny, what's wrong?"

Old Quinn walked past on his way to the water cooler. Seeing Johny covered in sweat and panting, he couldn't help but ask.

Tammy and Jane also reflexively looked over.

Johny gasped, "Ah," and immediately minimized the stock software. "It's nothing. Nothing. Just... it's a bit hot in here."

Director Zane could trade stocks openly in the office, and no one would gossip. But Johny couldn't. He had to be careful with his words and actions to avoid trouble.

At this moment, Director Zane suddenly returned to the General Office from outside. As soon as he entered, he pointed at Johny.

"Johny, come here for a moment."

Johny didn't have time to check his final balance. He stood up and followed the leader into the private office.

Sure enough, Zane had called him over to help pick another stock.

"DaQin Railway's opening today wasn't ideal, but luckily I didn't buy too much. Hmm, which stock do you think is good right now?"

Johny was cautious. If every stock he looked at rose instantly, it would inevitably make Zane suspicious. Moreover, this wasn't a long-term solution. His daily "BACK" usage was limited; he couldn't waste his precious power making money for Zane when he needed it for his own survival.

"Director Zane," Johny said carefully. "The market situation has been unclear lately, and I'm not confident about ultra-short-term trades today. How about we look at it in a few days?"

Zane looked at him, surprised. "Didn't you analyze things quite well the previous two days?"

Johny smiled bitterly. "But in the end, I didn't make you any real money. It's the overall market that's not cooperating. Did you see the board today? There are basically no stocks rising. It's impossible to trade safely."

Zane thought about it and nodded. Hainan Rubber and DaQin Railway had both been close calls. If he hadn't sold quickly, he might have been trapped.

"Alright. I think after a month or two of market adjustment, the index should attack the 3,000-point mark. Hmm, I'll buy then!"

"That sounds wise, Director."

Back at the Desk

Johny sat down and quietly opened the minimized trading software. He impatiently checked the account balance.

After deducting stamp duty and transaction fees, the remaining funds stared back at him in bold font.

20,000 Yuan.

Two thousand had turned into twenty thousand in less than two minutes!

That was a 1,000% profit. It was more than six or seven limit-up sessions combined!

Twenty thousand!

Twenty thousand!

Johny was filled with a massive, overwhelming sense of happiness.

This amount might not be much for wealthy families, but for Johny's family, twenty thousand yuan was a life-changing sum.

From now on, he would never have to cut a phone call short with his mother to save pennies on long-distance fees.

From now on, he would never have to hesitate to buy beef or mutton at the market because it was too expensive.

From now on...

As he thought about it, Johny's eyes became moist.

It had been four years since he graduated. He and his mom had truly been poor for too, too long.
