Chapter 36 - You Do Not Have To Be Scared.

I was surprised that he had asked me to sit next to him. From the look he gave me, it felt like an order from the magister, and I had no choice but to obey. But why did he need me so close to him? Was he planning to strangle me or something?

No. That was impossible.

I sat on the edge of the bed, leaving enough space between us. It was crazy to sit this close to a guy who could easily notice from my behavior that I was a girl. My heart beat fast, and I forced myself to stay calm.

"What exactly is your problem with Jax?" Ash asked, turning his gaze on me. There was something about his eyes that pulled me in, and if I did not learn how to fight that feeling, I knew I would regret it later.

"We had a misunderstanding on my first day, and he refused to apologize," I said quietly, avoiding his eyes.

Ash chuckled and shook his head. "You want Jax to apologize to you? That is impossible. The guy has never apologized to anyone since I have known him."
