Chapter134: Silent Weeping Beneath the Shadow of the Sleeping Angel

The Scene of the Angel and Ancient Echoes

Midnight had descended, drowning the entire world in a profound silence, save for the wounded heart beating within Diyari's chest. The rain had ceased, but droplets still trickled from the tips of the trees like the tears of nature itself, sharing in the sorrow Diyari carried. With a body weary and a soul shattered, he could no longer endure the distance. With steps as silent as a ghost, he slipped into the room.

Rina lay asleep on her bed, her white wings folded around her as if to shield herself from the cold world. In sleep, her face was serene; the frigid hardness that occupied her eyes when awake had vanished. Diyari sat by her head, exhaling a deep breath that smelled of estrangement and solitude. He reached into his cloak with a trembling hand and pulled out an old photograph—a picture where he, Rina, and the child were laughing under the golden sun. In that image, Rina looked at Diyari with absolute devotion. He looked at the photo, then at the Rina before him, who now resembled a mountain of unyielding ice.

Diyari: (In a whisper thick with tears) "Rina... look at this picture. Look how happy we were. We were a family full of life. What changed? Why is life so merciless? I fight every single day just to see you smile, yet you are the one who makes me cry more than anyone else. Oh, life... why are you so cruel to those with pure hearts?"

The Internal Dialogue and the Shattering of a Soul

He leaned closer to her, breathing in the scent of her hair—a scent that once gave him life but now felt as though it were suffocating him. A hot tear escaped his eye and fell onto Rina's cheek, but she remained lost in sleep.

"Why is it that the one who tries to fix everyone else ends up broken?" he whispered to the Rina who could not hear. "I wanted to protect your life, I wanted to save the world from Lina, but look at me... I am a ruin. Is it my fault that I love too much? Or is it the fault of those who do not know the meaning of loyalty? What kind of world is this where lies, betrayal, and unfaithfulness have become the law? Why must my heart burn for someone who won't even utter my name?"

A Farewell Kiss in the Midst of Dreams

Diyari leaned down and pressed his lips to Rina's forehead—a long, lingering kiss that carried the weight of years of agony. He felt as though this might be the last time he could be this close to her in peace. Then, he lay on the floor beside her bed and took her hand. Even though she didn't feel it, he needed that small spark of warmth to survive.

With his chest heaving with sobs, he closed his eyes. He dreamt of a world of pure white where Rina approached him through a thick mist, whispering, "Forgive me, Diyari..." but when he reached for her, she turned to smoke and vanished. The night passed with one lover trapped in a cold dream and the other in a living nightmare, yet loyalty remained the silent thread binding them together. For the first time, a small shadow of grief appeared on the sleeping Rina's face, as if her soul finally understood the depth of his weeping.
