Chapter 140: A Heartbeat Within a Stranger's Body

Rina's Fleeting Moment: The Return of the Soul

The darkness of the night had reached its coldest peak. Diyari sat in the corner of the room, his body exhausted and his heart soaked in blood. His eyes were crimson—not just from the lack of sleep, but from the tears that remained trapped in his throat like molten iron. Suddenly, the silence was shattered by a low, trembling voice. It was a sound Diyari had been starving to hear for five long years.

Rina, who until a few seconds ago had looked at him with the utmost frigidity, suddenly began to shake. Her white wings retracted, their color fading to a faint, ethereal white. Her eyes, which had been clouded by the black mist of Diyari's grandmother's sorcery, cleared for a brief second. She looked at Diyari, but this time, it was with that ancient gaze of absolute love.

Rina: (In a faint voice, thick with a stifled sob) "Diyari... my Diyari... listen to me before they steal me again... please..."

As if struck by lightning, Diyari rushed to her side, cradling her head in his arms. His hands trembled as he touched her face. "Rina? Is it you? My soul, tell me it's you! Don't say I'm ugly, don't say I'm mindless—just call me by the name only you knew!"

Rina: (Gasping for air, heavy with the agony of a wounded conscience) "Diyari... it isn't me... those words I said, the hatred I showed you, that wasn't me! I am only with you in body, but my soul is trapped in a black cage built by your grandmother. That woman... your grandmother... she was the one who used Lina's magic to make me forget everything. Lina was only a tool in your grandmother's hands! They want to break you by making me your enemy."

The Revelation of Family Treachery

Rina grabbed Diyari's hand and squeezed it with a desperate strength, as if trying to transfer all her life force into him. Real tears, not the tears of sorcery, streamed down her face.

"Diyari, forgive me... when I said you were ugly, when I said you were ill-mannered, my heart was breaking into pieces inside. It was your grandmother's spell that made me see you that way. That woman wants to kill you with the weight of guilt. She conspired with Lina to turn our happy home, our beautiful family, into a hell. Diyari... protect the child... he is becoming a victim too..."

Diyari let out a deep cry that shook the very walls of the room. "Rina! Do not say forgive me! I knew it wasn't you; I knew your merciful heart could never be like that. My grandmother... my mother's mother... how could she tear our home apart? How could she align with Lina to burn my soul? Why is life so unfaithful? Why must a man be betrayed so cruelly by his own family?"

The Moment Fades: Rina's Disappearance

Suddenly, Rina's eyes widened. Her body went stiff as a board. Her voice morphed back into a cold, magical monotone. "No! Diyari... they are coming back... my mind is darkening again! Don't let them steal me! Protect me from your grandmother's magic!"

Then, she fell unconscious, her body limp in his arms. After a few seconds, she opened her eyes again, but the light was gone. She returned to the cold Rina who only viewed him with contempt. "Do not touch me!" she spat, standing up. "How many times must I tell you? Why are you so close? You are just a body that reeks of pain and mindlessness. Get out!"

Diyari's Vow and Oath

Diyari stood up. This time, he didn't cry. Instead, his eyes glowed like two burning embers. He knew Rina was alive inside; he only needed to shatter these black spells. He turned his face toward the sky from where his grandmother wove her malice.

Diyari: (With a booming voice full of power) "Hear me, Grandmother! Hear me, woman who calls herself family but does the work of the devil! I know now that you and Lina are one. I know that the burning of my soul was your design. But I swear by the tears that just fell from Rina's eyes... I swear by the short breath that called me 'My Diyari'... that I will rebuild this ruined home!"

He gripped his sword. "Rina, I am going. But this time, I go to sever the roots where this magic grows. Let the world say I'm mindless, let them say I'm ugly, but I am the one who will pull my love from the mouth of the dragon. Five years of loyalty was only the beginning. Now the real war starts. Grandmother... wait for me, for your grandson is coming to shatter all your magic mirrors!"
