Chapter 29 - [Side: Hero Party - Luna] Deportation

After leaving the Great Labyrinth, we rushed straight to the guild.

""Golden Dawn"! Call the Guild Leader or Deputy Guild Leader right now! Time is of the essence—please hurry!"

The moment we entered the guild building, I shouted at the top of my lungs.

I don't usually raise my voice like this, but right now wasn't the time to worry about appearances.

""Golden Dawn"—the hero party!?"

One of the guild staff noticed us and quickly called out to the others.

"Golden Dawn" is the name of our party.

After reaching the 94th floor, people started calling us the Hero Party more often.

But ever since Orun, Oliver, and I—a rookie back then—formed it nine years ago, I've never changed the name.

The origin of the name... well, I'll explain that another time.

No time for it now.

"Let's move to the conference room for now. The Guild Leader will be here shortly."

Amid the sudden commotion from our intrusion, a calm female guild employee spoke up.

She was Eleonora—the staff member assigned to our party.

She'd been helping us ever since "Golden Dawn" was formed.

Just seeing her eased some of my impatience.

Her reassuring presence and tolerance are qualities I want to emulate someday.

The room Eleonora led us to was quite spacious.

Probably because other guild executives besides the Leader would be coming too.

As expected of the hero party—being able to gather guild executives with just one shout...

I still can't believe it.

This influence came from that person, yet we repaid his kindness with betrayal.

How can I ever make amends...?

While lost in those thoughts, several guild executives—including the Guild Leader—entered the conference room.

"I'm sorry for calling you so suddenly. Today, I have a request. I need all explorers currently inside the Great Labyrinth deported to the surface immediately."

Normally, Orun or Oliver would handle negotiations like this.

With Orun gone, it should have been Oliver—but he's been silent and useless since earlier.

Derek and Aneli aren't suited for talks, and we can't leave it to Philly, who's still new.

So I'm speaking on behalf of the party.

"You heroes are asking for this, so there must be a compelling reason. However, deportation is a major operation—we can't agree without understanding why. Could you explain first?"

The Guild Leader asked for the reason.

I'd heard deportation required extremely costly magic.

I was relieved they didn't reject it outright.

"I don't have time for a detailed explanation, so I'll keep it brief. I promise to explain everything fully afterward—please bear with me."

The Guild Leader nodded, so I continued.

"The reason we're requesting deportation is that there's an extremely high chance the 92nd floor boss—the Black Dragon—has moved to a boss area on a higher floor. After the deportation, we will subjugate it ourselves. For the sake of prioritizing human lives—please deport them first!"

My words caused an uproar among the executives.

Of course—floor bosses moving from their designated floors is unheard of.

Even the usually gentle, ever-smiling Guild Leader showed disbelief for a moment.

But only briefly.

They quickly moved to deliberate on the deportation.

All the executives agreed, and the decision was made.

I thought there would be more confusion.

I didn't expect it to be resolved so quickly...

"Oh, only those on floors 45 to 50—in another location... Well, is it possible to transfer them specifically to the plaza near the Great Labyrinth?"

Based on the information we have, "Silver Rabbit of the Night Sky" should be exploring around the 45th floor by now.

But they're an excellent clan, and Orun is with them.

It seems their schedule ended earlier than planned yesterday, so they should currently be somewhere between the 45th and 50th floors.

If we can move only those people to a different spot, we might find Orun faster.

"That's no problem at all."

The Guild Leader—who had granted my request—began drawing an unfamiliar magic circle.

Honestly, I couldn't understand its structure at all, but...

If he could grasp my unique abilities so quickly, something like this probably isn't beyond him.

All the guild executives started pouring mana into the circle.

"Deportation complete. "Golden Dawn", proceed with subjugating the Black Dragon. We'll handle support for the confused explorers. Give it everything you've got!"

At the Guild Leader's command, the executives immediately sprang into action.

"Alright, we'll go find Orun too."

"...Hey, do we really need that jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none guy? In the first place, how true is Luna's story just now? I don't buy it."

Derek grumbled about Orun rejoining, and Aneli nodded in agreement.

We lost because we were caught off guard earlier!

If we'd known from the start we'd be fighting the Black Dragon, we never would've left him behind!
