Chapter 16 - A stinky curse

<> Lou continued.

Roi wasn't listening to him. He was in ecstasy, enjoying his food.

The door suddenly opened and hit, with a harsh sound, the wall.

Two other kid, with their sword pointed at him, entered the house carefully. The taller one had his black hair tied in a braid, the other had simply his brown, straight hair on his face.

Every one of them had roughly the same clothes and green color. The only difference was that Lou's shirt had long sleeves, while the other two kids had short sleeves, exposing their skinny arms. They were as skinny as Roi's arms.

Roi tore off with a bite another chunk of the meat and looked at them.

<> He said.

He didn't know why, but it was relieving to mock those little brats. The beautiful part was that they could do nothing except hit him with their little sword. In that case, a punch was more than enough.

"Maybe for the other two. If I hit Greth's son, I'm dead for real."

He frowned, looking at them. There was something familiar in that scene. Three little kids armed with swords against a big, bastard man. A scene he saw dozens of times, but something important was missing.

<> The kid with the braid spoke harshly.

The brown-haired kid took a long, deep breath with his large nose for his age.

<> He didn't seem afraid, even though he was the one furthest away. He took another brief sniff.

<> The little boy held his nose.

Roi swallowed the last piece of meat in front of them with a confused face. Did he really smell that bad?

Before he could check, Lou sprinted towards him. The little sword hit his leg with the flat side.

A grumble escaped between his teeth.

Roi had to step back and caress the painful spot. He looked at Lou with a surprised and painful expression, while the kid's fear vanished.

"He's lucky to be the Leader's son."

<> Hatred. Nothing but hatred came out of Lou's mouth.

Roi clenched his teeth.

<

But why bother to tell them?

He stared at their firm eyes. They wouldn't listen to him. There was no way to change their mind.

<> The tallest kid sprinted towards him and swung his sword. The brown-haired kid encouraged him.

Roi stepped back, avoiding it. Even though he was new to fighting, he saw that he had many chances to kick that kid in the belly. He would have done that gladly. He would have loved that. There was nothing else that could bring him more joy than beating those assholes to death.

The tall kid charged with another powerful blow. Roi, once again, stepped back.

He was inside his house, inside his supposed safe place. He had every right to do so.

"I would die."

That was what would happen to him if he had thrown even a single kick or punch. He was a monster after all.

He bumps into a wall, avoiding another swing. Lou sprinted to help his friend.

Roi moved to the right with a jump, only to find Lou's sword coming towards his right side. The blow was loud and dull.

<

A red mark shaped like a blade adorned part of his side and belly.

Anger boiled inside him. He was being beaten inside his safe place by a bunch of little ASSHOLES. He couldn't stand it anymore.

He grabbed Lou's arm and pulled him to himself. The kid tried to free himself, but it wasn't difficult to overpower a child. He snatched the small sword from his hands and hurled it with all his might against the opposite wall.

On Lou's face was painted fear and panic when the Savior threw him to the ground using his whole body.

<> "One of the few I can count on."

Roi was walking towards the door, massaging the new mark on his body, hoping the pain would vanish quickly.

The brown-haired kid immediately moved away from the door.

<> He shut up and looked at his lowered sword as soon as Roi looked at him.

Apparently, He looked at the little boy more harshly than he intended.

<

The little kid glanced at him a few times, but never in the face. He opened his shaky mouth, but couldn't say anything. The only thing he could do was step slowly backwards.

"A monster. Yeah. I am a Monster."

That poor kid didn't do anything, and he was scaring the shit out of him. A huge burden fell on his narrow shoulders.

He grabbed the hexagonal door handle to close the door when Lou spoke.

<

The brown-haired kid quickly ran towards his friends as soon as Roi focused on Lou. The son of the leader was standing triumphant.

<> Roi said with the same harsh voice, then he slammed the door.

He stood there with his hand on the door handle. His eyes were distant. His mind was recalling that painful image of the little scared boy.

He closed his eyes, trying to forget.

"Time to explore the other side of the Regulursteum." He thought, letting go of the wooden handle. The door slightly opened with a faint but prolonged creak.

As he began to walk towards the steps of the temple, a loud cacophony filled his ex-home.

<>

<>

The voices gradually faded away.

<

In that moment, the window and the door burst open.

He stopped in the middle of nowhere. Near the area where he was beaten. He could see his blood dried up.

"Am I so stinky?" He thought as he smelled his armpit.

He hadn't even had time to answer himself before he had to turn his nose away.

"Ok, maybe I'll need to wash myself."
