Chapter 28 - 28-The Flower Dance-Charles Gets Hooked on Fishing

Everyone began finding dance partners, preparing to dance.

"Jas, may I invite you to dance?"

Clara walked toward a small girl...

Jas was a particularly quiet little girl. But after getting more familiar with Clara, she loved spending time with her.

"Of course, Clara!"

Jas was somewhat shy.

As one of Stardew's two children, Jas was a particularly well-behaved little girl, the complete opposite of Vincent's personality.

If Vincent was a mischievous troublemaker, Jas was the perfect child, not only a good student, but also very sensible.

Jas's background was also quite pitiful.

Her parents had been gone since childhood and lived with Aunt Marnie. Whether they died or left Stardew Valley, the original work never clarified it.

She was a heartbreakingly sweet child.

She normally just attended Penny's classes.

Since Vincent was the only same-age kid in Pelican Town, the two were good friends.

Melodious music played.

Right now, Clara and Jas were already dancing gracefully among the crowd.

Leaving Vincent hanging alone.

Charles had now finished tending all of the farm's fields.

Honestly, as an imperial count, he'd never dreamed he'd actually have a day of farming.

In the real world, even watering flowerpots in his rooms was left to servants.

But right now, looking at his handiwork, he still felt some sense of accomplishment.

Just as everything was done, he didn't know what to do.

His daughter had also disappeared somewhere.

He wandered around in circles, discovering how the town didn't have a single person present, truly strange!

He returned to the farm, wandering around.

A big yellow dog suddenly ran out from the bushes, startling him.

Quick as lightning, he immediately entered combat mode.

Having lived two hundred years, he had a lot of experience. One vicious dog naturally didn't scare him.

But the big yellow dog ran before him without attacking, instead stopping directly in front of him.

Sat on the ground, wagging its tail, tongue constantly hanging out...

A virtual panel appeared above the dog, its name: "Daisy!"

Looking at the big yellow dog before him, Charles finally realized this was probably the dog his daughter raised on the farm.

"Psst psst psst!"

"Woof woof woof!"

He patted Daisy's head.

Watching this obedient dog, he wanted to find something to feed it.

He rummaged through the farm's wooden chest, discovering all sorts of random stuff, but seemingly nothing for dogs to eat.

Suddenly, he spotted something in the corner.

What's this?

Taking it out, itturned out to be a fishing rod.

[Bamboo Pole]

Can be used to catch fish in water.

'Fishing?'

...

When Clara returned to the farm, the sky had already darkened.

Today, she was exceptionally happy.

Due to her disability, her family's protection of her was meticulous, afraid she'd have any problems.

So in the real world, her opportunities to go out were extremely few.

First, life was inconvenient. Second, she feared people's strange looks outside.

A festive atmosphere like this was new to her.

Not until today did she find in Stardew Valley the atmosphere she couldn't experience in the real world.

"Huh, where'd Dad go?"

Returning to the farm, Clara looked around but couldn't find her father.

She opened the system menu, discovering Charles hadn't logged off either.

Even Daisy had disappeared somewhere.

Right now, it was already 10 PM, but Clara wasn't worried. Mainly because Stardew Valley had nothing dangerous going on.

So she planned to just go inside and sleep directly.

At this moment, in the middle of the lake, north of Pelican Town...

A man was energetically casting his fishing rod, with a big yellow dog sitting beside him.

"Got one!"

Set hook, let out line, reel in...

Charles was handling the rod like a pro. A fish struggled on the water's surface, splashing up drops of water.

He suddenly exerted force, rapidly reeling in, pulling the rod.

A carp flopped as it was hooked up.

"Hahaha..."

Charles was overjoyed!

He felt he'd already mastered the fishing's rhythm, so casually unhooked the carp and held it up.

It wasn't very big, just over ten centimeters long and of common quality, so he just casually tossed it to Daisy.

Daisy, seeing more good food, happily wagged her tail, grabbed the carp in her mouth, and finished it in a few bites. After eating, she still stared longingly at Charles.

She liked Charles more already! Following Clara around meant starving half the time; she had to catch farm moles to fill her belly.

Charles continued casting, and before he knew it, he'd been fishing here all day, completely oblivious to the time spent.

But he didn't care. Mainly because fishing suited his tastes so perfectly.

One man and one dog. A peculiar combination on this tranquil island with no one to disturb them.

Before he knew it, late night arrived.

Charles checked his watch; it was already midnight. He didn't expect time to pass so quickly.

Only then did he remember his daughter had probably already gone home ages ago.

He hastily put away the fishing rod, grabbed the stool, took Daisy with him, and quickly headed home.

Clara was currently watching the magic crystal TV.

A woman appeared on screen, teaching how to cook.

[The Queen of Sauce]

Clara watched with great interest, admiring Stardew Valley's creator.

The Elven Empire's magitech was quite powerful too.

Things like projection devices, video, and photo functions could all be realized, but reality didn't have this kind of live-action TV drama content.

Stardew Valley's magic crystal TV was quite ingenious.

Right now, it was already approaching 2 AM. Due to multiplayer, if both people didn't sleep simultaneously, time couldn't fast-forward.

So right now she wanted to sleep but couldn't.

When Charles returned, it was already 1 AM.

Clara hastily urged her dad to go to his multiplayer cabin and sleep.

According to Robin, multiplayer cabins were pre-fabricated, so they didn't need construction time and could be built very quickly. Though compared to the farmhouse, they were still very crude.

Charles had originally wanted to show off his haul, but was pushed by his daughter to his room.

Ding!

Your Fishing skill leveled up.

Early the next morning, Charles put all the fish in the box, then grabbed the fishing rod, preparing to sneak away.

He couldn't wait to continue his fishing career.

Why did this feel like sneaking around?

"Dad! Where are you going?!"

An ominous voice sounded from behind.

Charles awkwardly turned to look at his daughter, giving her a sheepish smile.

"Haha... haha...!"

Then he obediently started working...
