I had discovered something rather unfortunate about being in love with Hades. The man was impossible to ignore even when he wasn't in the same room.
Especially when he wasn't in the same room.
I had spent the entire evening trying to concentrate on dinner, but my thoughts kept wandering back to the way he'd looked at me in the healers' quarters. The way his hand had settled against my waist when we walked back through the pack. The way he'd kissed my forehead before leaving.
Hours later, I had changed into a clean nightdress, brushed my hair, and eaten the food Carina had brought. When I was alone, I walked to window and folded my arms. Thoughts of Hades consumed my head.
The door opened and I turned so quickly that I nearly tripped. Hades stood in the doorway.
