Chapter 34 - Nyx’s Dream: A Future with Vario

The fluorescent lights of the convenience store hummed faintly as the team finally settled into a rare moment of calm. Nyx, curled up behind the counter with her Beybroll set aside, drifted off to sleep, still humming a soft, chaotic tune.

In her dreams, the chaos of the store faded, replaced by a warm, sunlit meadow. Green grass swayed gently in a breeze that carried the faint scent of roasted cup noodles and… strangely, Vario's aura, calm and protective even in this dream world.

She could see him clearly—wings folded, crimson eyes soft, a rare, genuine smile playing across his face. He knelt on the grass, reaching out for her.

"You're… different here," he said, voice low but warm. "Calm. Happy."

Nyx's heart beat faster than she expected. "I… I feel safe," she whispered. "Even with all this chaos… I feel like I belong."

In the dream, a small child toddled across the meadow, laughter ringing like chimes. Green eyes sparkled with mischief, crimson highlights in the hair glowing faintly. Nyx instinctively reached out, scooping the little one into her arms.

Vario's hand rested on her shoulder, firm but gentle. "We did this," he said simply. "Together."

Nyx giggled softly, looking down at the child who mirrored both her chaos and his strength. "A little bundle of brainrot and shadow energy," she murmured, brushing a stray lock of crimson-green hair from their face.

The dream world seemed to pulse with light and warmth, the meadow stretching endlessly. Birds sang overhead, and the faint scent of human snacks—cup noodles, chocolate, and soda—mingled with the magic in the air.

Vario wrapped his wings protectively around both Nyx and the child. "This… is what I want. Peace. Chaos controlled. You… us… a family."

Nyx's chest swelled with emotion she didn't fully understand, but it felt right. The chaos in her brain—the brainrot she so adored—was tempered by calm. By him. By the family they could be.

She laughed quietly, the sound blending with the breeze. "Even in my wildest brainrot dreams… I never imagined it could feel like this."

Vario smiled, crimson eyes glowing softly. "Then don't just imagine it. Fight for it. Protect it. And someday… we'll make it real."

As the dream faded, Nyx woke with a start, cheeks flushed, heart racing. The convenience store was quiet, the faint glow of neon lights casting soft shadows across the counters. Her Beybroll was still at her side, the faint scent of whiskey lingering from her earlier experiments.

She sighed, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Maybe… someday," she whispered. "Maybe… with him."

Vario, still in his darkened corner, shifted slightly, as if sensing the thought, and Nyx couldn't help but shiver with anticipation. Chaos, brainrot, and dreams of family—somehow, they all felt possible now.
