Chapter 33 - Master, I Am Enlightened!

Quinn Ye didn't see the phantom of the Buddha behind him.

Seeing Xander Song kneeling on the ground with his palms pressed together and a look of piety on his face, Quinn thought Xander was a devout Buddhist.

"Since you believe in Buddha, this will be easy."

"Watch me reform you father and son."

Quinn felt confident.

"Xander Song, Drake Song, you father and son have done much evil and accumulated many bad karmas. These karmas will eventually bring retribution upon you."

Quinn tried his best to put on a "Buddha-like" expression.

He imagined the appearance of high monks from TV shows and tried to imitate them.

Perhaps because of this, the Buddha phantom behind Quinn became more and more solid.

The face of the Buddha phantom even began to resemble Quinn.

This left the Song father and son dumbfounded.

"He is actually a Buddhist Expert!"

The father and son were shocked.

Buddhist monks were extremely mysterious existences.

Although there were Buddhist sects within the Heavenly Martial Empire, they were not influential.

Legend had it that outside the Southern Wasteland, in the West Realm, Buddhism flourished.

There was even a Buddhist Kingdom where everyone believed in Buddha, and the status of monks was revered above all.

The Song father and son didn't expect Quinn Ye to be a man of Buddhism.

And by the looks of it, he was definitely an unfathomable existence within Buddhism.

For a moment, the father and son were filled with regret.

If we knew he was this powerful, we wouldn't have provoked him.

"Expert, we... we haven't done that many bad things," Xander Song said vaguely.

Quinn shook his head.

"Buddha is everywhere. What you have done, and what you haven't done, Buddha sees it all. Nothing can be hidden from the Eye of Buddha."

Before he finished speaking, the eyes of the Buddha phantom behind Quinn suddenly lit up, shining directly on the Song father and son.

The Song father and son trembled all over.

Under the gaze of the Eye of Buddha, they felt their minds being purified.

Everything they had done in the past floated before their eyes.

Those evil deeds became incomparably clear, one by one.

The father and son turned pale.

Only now did they deeply realize how many bad things they had done in the past.

Filled with shame, they lowered their heads deeply.

Quinn, however, looked weird.

"Where is this golden light coming from? So mysterious?"

He turned his head and looked around but saw nothing unusual.

The Buddha phantom visible to everyone else was invisible only to Quinn.

"Expert, we know we were wrong!"

"We were wrong! Truly wrong!"

The father and son kowtowed repeatedly to Quinn.

Quinn nodded with gratification.

"Although you father and son have done much evil, my Buddha is merciful. Everyone has a chance to be forgiven."

"From today on, you must do more good deeds and harbor kind thoughts. This will surely eliminate the bad karma of your past."

Hearing this, the Song father and son became excited.

As long as they could eliminate the bad karma, they were willing to do anything.

Not to mention just doing good deeds.

Doing good deeds?

That's too easy.

"We will remember!" Xander Song said.

"I haven't finished yet."

Quinn continued, "The most important thing is to chant Buddhist scriptures every day."

"Buddhist scriptures?"

The father and son looked blank.

"Master, we don't know any Buddhist scriptures," Xander said.

"No matter. This poor monk... er, I will teach you a scripture right now. Remember to chant it three times a day: morning, noon, and night."

The father and son were overjoyed.

"Thank you, Master!"

Quinn hummed in acknowledgement, then began to recite the scripture.

"This scripture is called—The Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra (The Heart Sutra)."

The father and son immediately grabbed paper and brushes, looking serious, like students taking notes in class.

"Ahem."

"When the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara practiced the deep Prajnaparamita, he perceived that all five skandhas are empty and was saved from all suffering and distress."

"Sariputra, form does not differ from emptiness, emptiness does not differ from form. Form is emptiness, emptiness is form. The same is true of feelings, perceptions, volitions, and consciousness."

"Sariputra, all dharmas are marked with emptiness; they do not appear or disappear, are not tainted or pure, do not increase or decrease..."

"Therefore, in emptiness there is no form, no feeling, perception, volition, or consciousness..."

...

"Gate gate pāragate, pārasamgate. Bodhi Svaha."

A complete Heart Sutra was fluently recited by Quinn.

When he finished reciting this sutra.

The Buddha phantom behind Quinn became brighter than ever before.

A dazzling Buddhist Light shot straight into the clouds.

BOOM!!!

At this moment.

Anyone within a thousand miles could see this golden phenomenon just by looking up.

Instantly, all parties in the Heavenly Martial Empire were alarmed.

"This is Buddhist Light!"

"This Buddhist Light is so rich and pure. Could it be a high monk having an Epiphany?"

"It might even be the reincarnation of a Buddha!"

"Go and see what is happening!"

...

For a time, many people rushed toward the direction where the Buddhist Light emerged.

Meanwhile.

In the West Realm, far away from the Heavenly Martial Empire.

Here was the paradise of Buddhism.

To outsiders, this place was also known as the Western Pure Land.

In a temple flourishing with incense, lights shone brilliantly, and people came and went.

In the meditation room in the backyard of the temple.

An old monk who had been in deep meditation for forty-nine years suddenly opened his eyes.

"Hmm? Buddhist Qi soaring to the sky in the South?"

The old monk flashed out, his piercing eyes gazing toward the South.

Vaguely, he seemed to see the Golden Buddha behind Quinn Ye.

"Grandmaster!"

The appearance of the old monk alarmed many high monks in the temple, who hurried over.

"Quick! Send someone to the Southern Wasteland, to the Heavenly Martial Empire. My Holy Son of Buddhism has appeared there!"

"What? The Holy Son of Buddhism?"

The monks were shocked.

The Holy Son of Buddhism was someone their Buddhism in the West Realm had been searching for bitterly for many years without success.

Even in the Bodhi Buddhist Kingdom, only three suspected candidates had appeared, none fully confirmed.

Now, the Grandmaster said the Holy Son of Buddhism was born in the Southern Wasteland outside the West Realm?

How is this possible?

However, none of the monks dared to doubt the old monk's words.

Because this old monk was the highest-ranking monk in the West Zen Temple and one of the supreme existences in the entire West Realm Buddhism.

His words were Buddhist Truth. No one was allowed to doubt them.

Immediately, the West Zen Temple sent monks straight to the Southern Wasteland.

Not only the West Zen Temple but also many Buddhist forces in the West Realm sent their disciples to the Southern Wasteland.

Just to investigate the secret of that Buddhist Light.

As the initiator of all this, Quinn Ye had absolutely no idea that his recitation of the Heart Sutra had caused such a huge sensation in the distant West Realm.

"Did you... memorize it?"

The Song father and son were completely stunned.

They were immersed in the scripture Quinn had just recited. Although they didn't fully understand the principles contained in the Heart Sutra.

Just listening to it once, they felt as if they had achieved Great Enlightenment.

Their lives had changed drastically from then on.

"Master, I am enlightened!"

The father and son shouted in unison.
