Chapter 57 - Chapter 57 First Encounter With Goblins

"Tekkai!" Next, Takeru closed his eyes and activated Tekkai.

Tekkai worked by accelerating blood flow and muscle movement to achieve greater defensive power.

However, Takeru could put other things on hold for now. The only derived technique he currently wanted to master was Tekkai Kenpo… the ability to move while the entire body was in Tekkai state.

Currently, Takeru could use it, but the speed was too slow. Moreover, his defense wasn't concentrated enough during the attack, significantly lowering his defensive capability...

The next step was to maintain Tekkai while moving freely.

Of course, with his telekinesis, Takeru could also use it to move himself while maintaining Tekkai.

This also required extensive practice. But due to his high comprehension, as long as Takeru practiced diligently, mastering it proficiently was just a matter of time.

Next was Geppo. Although Takeru had telekinesis, which made flying more convenient than Geppo, Takeru discovered in one trial that combining Geppo with telekinesis greatly increased his movement speed in the air and made him more agile...

Shigan and Kami-e could be set aside for now. Takeru had plenty of attack methods, and for evasion, he had his invincible defense, so those could wait.

After contemplating his training plan, Takeru began putting in continuous effort.

Soon, as time passed, the sun rose higher.

Checking the time function on his Reincarnation Watch, Takeru found over an hour had passed, and it was now around 8 a.m.

So Takeru stopped his movements and used water from the lake to clean himself off.

While Takeru was washing, a whistling sound cut through the air. A goblin, wielding a greatsword, swept towards Takeru, aiming to kill him in a sneak attack while he was vulnerable.

However, the washing Takeru revealed a cold smile. Twenty minutes earlier, his Observation Haki had noticed three goblins hiding.

Seeing they seemed to be waiting for an opportunity, Takeru deliberately created this opening for them… and they fell for it obediently...

Bang!

Takeru, who had been washing, turned around at an extremely fast speed and easily blocked the goblin's sweeping greatsword with his hand.

In that instant, Takeru activated his Gluttony skill, directly converting the attack into MP. Unfortunately, the goblin's full-power strike only gave Takeru 26 MP...

Takeru didn't mind. With a casual exertion of strength, he threw the goblin and its greatsword aside.

The two companions beside the ambushing goblin were stunned to see Takeru block the greatsword attack.

However, they reacted swiftly. One with a long axe-like weapon and another with a spiked club quickly swung at Takeru.

Takeru didn't hold back either, activating Gluttony again and meeting their attacks with his hands, harvesting 48 MP this time...

After blocking the attacks, Takeru pushed again. The immense force sent both goblins tumbling to the ground. Meanwhile, the first goblin Takeru had thrown had already gotten up and, enraged, charged at Takeru, swinging its greatsword down.

It was all futile. With over 400 Defense attribute points plus the Absolute Defense talent that doubled it, these goblins couldn't breach his defense at all...

Against their assaults, Takeru barely fought back, simply catching their attacks barehanded. Soon, he harvested 658 MP reserves from the three goblins, bringing his MP total to 915.

By then, the three goblins realized Takeru's terror and chose to flee.

"Realized the power gap, huh? But it's a bit late! Rankyaku!" Takeru chuckled softly, swinging his leg.

A white slash wave appeared, flying towards two goblins. The terrifying force cut them in half at the waist...

The remaining goblin, not caught in the slash, saw this scene and was scared out of its wits, fleeing even more desperately.

But suddenly, it seemed to hit an invisible fist, getting knocked unconscious instantly.

Then, the dead and unconscious goblins were dragged back to Takeru's side by an invisible force.

Looking at the bloody scene of the goblins bisected at the waist, Takeru remained calm. After all, in the previous world, he had slain over five thousand zombies and even killed three living humans.

Facing humanoid monsters like goblins now, Takeru naturally felt no discomfort...

Next, he searched the three goblins, quickly finding two silver coins, twenty copper coins, and two unidentified sharp teeth. However, one silver coin had a hole pierced through it.

Takeru didn't hesitate to take them. Then he took their weapons as well. Though probably not very valuable, they should be worth something.

Confirming nothing was left, Takeru used his telekinesis to wrap around his foot and crushed the unconscious goblin's head. Blood instantly splattered, and Takeru left the spot expressionlessly.

He used telekinesis not because his strength was insufficient to kill the goblin, but purely to prevent blood from splashing onto himself...

With the spoils, Takeru began heading back towards town. He soon arrived at the market. Though still early, many stalls were already open. Going to a stall that bought materials, Takeru took out the damaged silver coin and the teeth.

He learned the teeth were wolf fangs, which could be used as talismans against evil spirits, worth one silver coin each. The damaged silver coin was only worth forty copper coins. As for the weapons, the stall didn't buy those, so he'd have to go to a weapon shop.
