Chapter 65 - Chapter 65- The Heart Of Inferno

The molten structure did not simply break—it collapsed inward as if something inside it had decided to emerge on its own terms, and the moment the cracks spread completely, the entire crater trembled violently, forcing the team to steady their footing as the ground beneath them shifted like unstable terrain, while a deep, suffocating pressure surged outward in waves, thick enough to make the air feel heavy against their lungs, and then—slowly, impossibly—the creature rose.

It was not merely large.

It was overwhelming.

A towering molten giant pulled itself from the depths, its body formed of layered obsidian plates with rivers of magma flowing between them like veins, each movement accompanied by the grinding sound of stone against stone, while its core burned deep within its chest, glowing brighter than anything they had seen so far, radiating a heat so intense that even standing at a distance felt like stepping into a furnace.

No one spoke.

They didn't need to.

Shin moved first.

His body surged forward, gravity compressing violently around him as he launched upward, his blade descending in a heavy arc toward the creature's leg, and the moment his strike landed, the impact echoed across the battlefield like a shockwave, cracking through the outer layer of obsidian and sending fragments scattering across the ground.

But the damage did not last.

The molten veins pulsed—and the cracks began to close.

Kaiser didn't hesitate.

He charged forward immediately, his entire body reinforced with wind and earth as he drove his fist into the same point Shin had struck, the impact explosive enough to shake the ground beneath them, forcing the giant slightly backward, yet even that overwhelming force failed to destabilize it completely.

"Not enough," Kaiser muttered, his expression tightening.

Ren appeared next.

A streak of lightning cut through the battlefield as he moved faster than the eye could track, striking at multiple points along the creature's body in rapid succession, his blade flashing repeatedly as he targeted joints, cracks, anything that looked even slightly vulnerable.

The result was precise.

But insufficient.

The creature barely reacted.

Serena stepped in, her flames igniting brighter than before as she forced more mana into her attacks, sending concentrated arcs of fire toward the creature's core, yet even as her flames connected, they seemed to weaken, the environment absorbing part of their intensity.

"This place is suppressing output," she said sharply.

Alicia adjusted instantly.

Instead of wide attacks, she focused entirely on pinpoint strikes, her spear glowing faintly as she aimed directly at the cracks created by Shin and Kaiser, attempting to pierce deeper into the core's protection.

Ophelia's illusions spread next.

Multiple versions of the team appeared across the battlefield, distorting perception, forcing the creature's attention to split—but the giant was not entirely fooled, its movements slower, yet deliberate, as if relying more on instinct than sight.

And then—

It moved.

Faster than something that size should.

Its arm descended.

The air itself screamed as heat and pressure condensed into a single point, the attack aimed directly at the center of their formation, forcing Shin to react instantly as he redirected gravity upward, attempting to slow the descent.

"Move!"

The team scattered.

The impact landed.

The ground shattered.

A wave of force exploded outward, sending debris flying in all directions, heat surging violently through the air as the battlefield itself cracked under the pressure, and even those who had moved in time were forced to brace themselves against the shockwave.

Jin watched.

Not passively.

But precisely.

His eyes tracked every movement, every reaction, every flaw, analyzing the creature's structure, its regeneration pattern, the rhythm of its attacks, the way its core pulsed slightly before each major movement.

So that's how it works…

He stepped forward.

Not dramatically.

Not loudly.

Just one step.

And space around him shifted subtly.

The next attack came faster.

The giant turned—this time toward Seraphina.

Something about her aura drew its attention, perhaps the contrast of ice against its molten existence, or perhaps simply instinct, but the moment it moved, Jin understood.

It's targeting her.

Seraphina didn't retreat.

She stepped forward.

Her sword rose, frost condensing along its edge as her aura tightened further, no longer spreading outward but compressing into something sharper, more refined, and when the giant's arm descended again, she met it head-on.

The collision was violent.

Ice met magma.

For a brief moment, the two forces clashed in perfect opposition, steam erupting around the point of impact as the temperature difference distorted the air violently, and Seraphina held her ground—barely.

Her feet slid back.

Stone cracked beneath her boots.

Her breathing shifted.

But she did not break.

Jin's gaze sharpened.

He saw it clearly.

The environment was wearing her down.

Every second she remained in direct confrontation, her ice was losing efficiency, her energy consumption increasing just to maintain balance, and while she could hold for now—

She wouldn't be able to forever.

The giant attacked again.

Faster.

Heavier.

This time from the side.

Seraphina turned, her reaction precise, her blade intercepting the strike, yet the force behind it drove her further back, her body sliding across the ground as cracks spread beneath her feet.

Shin moved to assist.

But the giant shifted its focus again, forcing him to adjust.

Kaiser stepped in.

Blocked.

Ren attempted to disrupt.

Redirected.

The battlefield began to fracture.

Coordination strained.

Pressure increased.

And at the center of it—

Seraphina stood alone against it.

Her breathing grew heavier.

Her grip tightened.

Her eyes remained calm—but the strain was there now, visible to anyone paying close enough attention.

Jin was watching.

Not just the battle.

Her.

The next attack came without warning.

Both arms raised.

Then—

Descending.

A crushing force aimed directly at her.

Seraphina lifted her sword.

Her ice surged.

But this time—

Her timing was off.

Just slightly.

And in that fraction of a second—

Jin moved.

Not with hesitation.

Not with thought.

But with instinct.

Space collapsed beneath his feet as he appeared between her and the descending strike, his hand lifting just slightly as distortion warped the air around him, and his voice, calm despite everything, cut through the chaos.

"Move."

Seraphina's eyes widened.

For the first time—

Not from fear.

But from something else.

And before she could react—

The attack landed.

The world shattered.

A deafening impact exploded across the battlefield as the ground collapsed beneath them, shockwaves ripping outward violently, heat surging through the air as if the entire crater had erupted at once, and for a moment—

Everything disappeared.

Sound.

Movement.

Breath.

And in that silence—

Jin stood.

Between her—

And death.
