She stood near the well, feeling water, Har dupatta loosely covering her head. The morning sun touched her face gently. People in the village often said Meera had eyes that spoke more than worlds.

But meera's life was simple.

Too simple.

She had dreams- but dreams were dangerous in a village like Saanjpur.

" Meera!" Her mother called.

" Coming, maa," she replied softly.

As she walked back home, see noticed something unusual.

A BLACK CAR.

Cars rerely come here. And when they did, the entire village noticed.

Children run behind it. Old man stupid their conversation. Women whispered.

The car stopped near the old banyan tree.

A man stepped out.

Tall. City clothes. Confident walk.

Meera's heart skipped for a reason she didn't understand.

" Who is he?" Someone whispered.

The man looked around, his eyes scanning

The village like he was searching for something.... or someone.

That was Aarav.

He had not come here by choice.

Aarav stood still, breathing in the village air. peaceful. Silent. Completely opposite of his city life.

" So this is Saanjpur," he muttered.

" Beta , you must be Aarav," an old man said, walking toward him.

" I am Raghav politely."yes."

"You'll stay in your grandfather's house,"

Raghav said." It's been locked for years."

Aarav's jaw tightened.

He hated that house.

And he hated the memories connected to it.

As he followed Raghav, meera watch watched from a distance.

Something about him felt.... Different.

Later that evening, meera want to the fields

Alone, is she often did. It was the only place she felt free.

She didn't notice Aaravstanding there until-

" Be careful."

She turned sharply.

" You could have fallen," Aarav said.

Mera frowned." I know how to walk in my own fields."

Aarav smiled slightly." Didn't mean to offend."

There was silence.

" City people don't usually care about villagers," meera said suddenly.

Aarav looked at her." And villages don't usually judge so fast."

Their eyes locked.

Something shifted.

Meera, her mothers voice echoed.

She stepped back." I should go".

As she walkd away, aarav watched her, confused.

Why did her words feel like that too something Deep inside him?

That night, meera couldn't sleep.

Neither could aarav.

He opened his big and took out and old photograph.

A woman.

A village.

And a promise that was never fulfilled.

I am back, he whispered. But I don't know why.
