Chapter 1 - Prologue

Xuemo sect

In a grand, ancient temple of the Xuemo sect, preparations were being made for a sacred ritual to welcome a child's birth. This was a common ritual. In the blink of an eye the entire temple was fragrant with the smoke of incense. It was a common, centuries-old tradition that had been passed down through generations to protect the newborn and bless them with divine guidance. This ritual for every newborn child.

In the temple. Master Han Ziyu, the heir of the Xuemo Sect, was personally overseeing the ritual. Among the select few invited to witness this momentous occasion was Lin Chaoyuan, a powerful general from the esteemed Xuemo Sect.

But as soon as the chanting of mantras started and Just as the chanting reached its peak, a woman suddenly burst into the temple, carrying a child in her arms. It was Queen Guzuie!

As she came in, she cried out in a agonized voice,

"Stop!" she cried, panting and with frantic eyes. "Don't chant the mantra! It's cursed! Someone has altered it... please, don't say it!…please"

But her words were of no avail. No one heard a word. The chants did not stop. And in the blink of an eye the temple echoed with the incantations of the ritual, and no one heard her. She screamed louder, desperately, falling to the ground.

"Don't chant mantras. I request you. . The spell is cursed. please don't say it"

But it was too late. Everything suddenly became quiet when the mantras were completed and at the same time the sky turned black instantly. Thick, black clouds gathered and a rift opened in the sky, and from it, not thousands but millions of souls poured out. Screaming, hungry, and angry, they devoured everything. No one was left. - No monks, no soldiers, not even the king. Everything was swallowed, except for one child: the child who lay in the middle of the pavilion. A newborn baby with a talisman stuck to his forehead. Written on that talisman was a name: Yu Sui.

In a matter of hours, half the kingdom was gone. Many people were killed, and many houses and families were reduced to ashes. Only two small tribes survived the disaster. Queen Guzuie, pale and trembling, turned to Lin Chaoyuan, her voice trembling with rage.

"Lin Chaoyuan! I did not expect this from you. You betrayed us! You changed the incantations! You're a traitor!"

But before any more could be said, Queen Guzuie ran toward the pavilion. She understood that her time was near. She ran to Yu sui and she gently laid her newborn baby next to Yu Sui she looked back. Before Lin Chaoyuan could reach her. She removed the blue talisman from her forehead and used its band to bind Yu Sui's and her son Mo Yan's tiny hands together. Then she closed her eyes and summoned a spell seal into the air. She raised her two fingers and write a spell in the air. But Lin Chaoyuan was almost upon her. But as soon spell seal complete Just then the spell seal demanded a sacrifice. Queen Guzuie looked at her son Mo Yan one last time, her eyes became moist when she drew her sword, and ran it across her own throat. At that moment, the blue aura of the spell written in the air merged into the band that bound the two infants' hands. As soon as the spell seal was

Complete and entered the band, it vanished.

The sacrifice completed the magic and sealed it forever. From that day on, Yu Sui and Queen Guzuie's son Mo Yan were bound together forever by an unbreakable spell. Just then, Lin Chaoyuan picked up the unconscious Mo Yan from beside Yu Sui and carried him away, but Yu Sui remained there, crying by the queen's body. after a short time interval, a small piece of paper suddenly fluttered down to Yu Sui. It was a small note hidden beneath Mo Yan's clothes and it fell when Lin Chaoyuan was carrying Mo Yan, placed there by Queen Guzuie, that had come loose. As the wind carried it across the ruins, it landed beside Yu Sui. On it was written a message:

"Yu Sui, as long as Mo Yan is with you, no curse will be able to harm you.

And, Mo Yan, as long as Yu Sui is with you, you will never feel my absence."

— Guzuie

After that act of black heaven.

On a land still scarred by the wounds of the past, fog spread across the fields. A young girl, barely eighteen years old, emerged from the fog and took Yu Sui with her.

A few years had passed.

In the middle of a battlefield, the sky split open once again. A deep rift opened above, and Yu Sui, floating in the air, slowly descended.

He was looking down with tearful eyes.

Below him, Mo Yan was down on one knee, leaning on his sword. He was wounded and barely able to breathe. His eyes widened when he saw Yu Sui.

And then Yu Sui's voice echoed. He hung in the air above.

"Because of me, you've been exiled," Yu Sui said softly. "I can't let that happen. Mo"

Upon hearing this, Mo Yan shook his head and extended his hand, but Yu Sui was beyond his reach. Mo Yan's voice broke when he spoke his throat full of pain. He screamed at the top of his lungs,

"No! It's not like that, Yu. Listen to me. Don't go... Yu... wait..."

But with a sad heart, Yu sui closed his eyes and gave a faint smile. Yu Sui began to turn toward the rift. And then the black void swallowed him whole.

Mo Yan reached out helplessly, He tried in vain to turn back. But his body was badly injured. And his eyes seemed to be fighting an emotional battle of their own. Finally, tears welled up in his eyes when Yu Sui completely disappeared. And then officials from the Liuguang Sect arrived and seized him from the back. But even as they dragged him away, Mo Yan's eyes never left the empty sky where Yu Sui had vanished.

His gaze became blurry with tears
