The next day.
When we all were 'a few steps more beside middle', there was....
Nothing.
"Huh? There's not anything! Are you sure we're on the right place?"
Kai asked, looking around.
Toki giggled, pointing up.
"You dummies! Look above, there's what you have to face."
We looked above as Toki said. And we saw...
Some weird floating rocks. Huh!
"Uh... Are the rocks gonna fight us??"
I asked, not understanding.
"Noooo! These are The Skyfall Stones, and on the highest stone is floating the third piece we're trying to get."
Toki explained, correct as always.
"So, we just have to climb all the way up to the highest rock?"
"Nooo! I mean, yes, but we all have to be careful! There are Whisper Shades!"
"Whisper— what now?!"
Toki sighed. I think she was tired of all the explaining already.
"Whisper Shades are a floating shadows. They protect the third piece, and to get the piece, you have to fight the shadows or avoid them. But avoiding is harder because they can teleport to you anytime when they notice you trying to get it."
Rosy was already curious.
"Oh! But you said you have powers, can't you fly with them up there somehow and get the piece?"
"AAAAHHH! I said they can teleport! AND THEY'RE FAST."
"What about the rocks? Are they slippery? Are the shapes changing?"
"THEY'RE STONES!!! THEY AREN'T SLIPPERY AND THEY REMAIN IN ONE STONE-Y SHAPE!!!!"
That's when Toki heard that.
A shadow looking at them. (HOW CAN SHE HEAR A SHADOW LOOKING?!)
The shadows heard them.
The whole conversation.
"Oh no..."
Toki whispered to herself, looking up to make sure.
"What happened, Toki?"
Snow asked worryingly. (does the word exist?)
"EVERYONE, GET DOWN!!!"
BOOM.
One of the shadows shot forward like lightning, creating a huge explosion behind us.
Snow and Rosy were too scared to fight, so they hid wherever they could.
Toki, thanks to her powers, glided quickly up, already fighting all the shadows that noticed her.
Me and Kai had no choice, so we had to jump on The Skyfall Stones.
But I couldn't pay attention to anything, I was too scared/shocked/whatever-the-feeling-was so I just ran, jumping on the stones without knowing where I'm going.
One stone.
Two.
Three.
Before I jumped on the fourth, I noticed three shadows who already chased me.
They zipped through the air in a blink.
That's when I looked up and noticed something.
The highest stone.
The map piece floated above the stone, shining like a star.
This was my chance, I knew it.
So I ran.
One stone.
Two.
Three.
Fourth.
Fifth.
Sixth— but one of the shadows teleported
right
in
front
of
me.
AND HE RAISED HIS FIST TO PUNCH ME.
I jolted.
Yelled.
Slipped—
and fell.
YES I FELL.
AND I WAS VERY HIGH.
Kai was a lot downer than me, and I heard him screaming my name.
I was falling,
and falling,
and falling...
I thought I would fall forever.
But no, right in the right second, I felt a weird glowing magic holding me in the air.
Toki.
When I gained my balance on the glow, I looked down.
I saw Toki on a nearest highest tree she could find, and she was using the magic to keep me from not falling.
"Toki—"
"Don't say anything!"
She glided me to the highest stone where was the third piece.
I quickly grabbed it before a shadow could stop me.
And guess what?
By grabbing it, all the shadows dissapeared.
Then we all went to the ground.
In the second Toki stopped with the magic that was holding me, Kai suddenly hugged me.
"Kai—?!"
"YOU SCARED ME SO MUCH WHEN YOU SLIPPED FROM THE STONE I THOUGHT YOU'LL FALL BUT YOU DIDNT NEVER SCARE ME THAT MUCH AGAIN!!!"
That surprised us all VERY much.
I mean I never saw Kai — not even Chaos — like that and it broke my heart how scared he was...
I didn't know what to say.
So I hugged him back.
