Some of what we learn is permitted to us… They say love begins and ends, but my experience tells me otherwise. Love is not something you can stop or cut off like a movie or a song. Real love is like a supernova—it can illuminate your life or destroy it if you get too close. So, is it truly double‑edged, or simply absolute?
Some play with the feeling, others ignore it. Romeo and Juliet believed you must love moderately, controlling how you fall for someone. But that restraint often misleads, leaving people hurt, disinterested, or half‑hearted. To love moderately can feel like doing a favor for a friend or stranger—an act of entertainment rather than devotion.
Falling in love, however, is not something you can control. You don't decide how deep you fall; you drift like a feather in the air, pulled into an endless black hole. The result is beyond your command, as long as you meet the one who stops time for you, who understands you, who becomes your only and everything. Yet… that feels almost impossible today. People carry hidden agendas, ideals, and masks.
Still, love has a strange way of finding us. Moderation has faded; even those who hate each other can be caught up in its pull. Love remains unpredictable, dangerous, and luminous—never moderate, always alive.
It was the day before Valentine's Day, and Kimberly was far from happy. She felt irritated seeing red decorations everywhere. Even though she was in a relationship with Charlotte, she believed love shouldn't be confined to a single day. To her, Valentine's Day felt fake—people spend the year fighting, only to suddenly want to make up when the holiday arrives. Why wait all year to show love?
Kimberly was at the mall with Charlotte, searching for a new gaming monitor. That morning, something strange had happened—so strange it left Charlotte speechless. She avoided Kimberly the entire morning, while Kimberly spent the time wondering how to fix things. Eventually, she decided the best way was to buy Charlotte a new, high-end monitor.
At the store, Kimberly reached for Charlotte's hand, but Charlotte pulled away, her mood heavy. She pouted, folded her arms, and walked ahead without looking back. Kimberly sighed, trailing after her.
Then, suddenly, Charlotte turned and rushed toward her, wrapping her arms tightly around Kimberly. She pressed her face against her shoulder, seeking attention, and whispered, "I already said sorry so many times, and I meant it. Plus, we're buying a new one now. Please… forgive me."
Charlotte looked at Kimberly and sighed, letting out a small laugh that carried both annoyance and attitude. "I mean, it's whatever," she said, rolling her eyes. "You didn't mean to do it, I get that. But I remember telling you not to clean there—I said I'd handle it. The monitors on the side aren't stable, and you didn't listen. Now here we are… so yeah."
Kimberly looked at Charlotte and sulked, her eyes soft with regret. "Aww, I'm really sorry," she said gently. "I mean… a kiss will fix this, how about that?" She leaned in, hoping it would work, knowing how much Charlotte loved kisses.
Charlotte turned to face Kimberly, slowly taking her hands. Then, with a quiet firmness, she let them go, leaving Kimberly's fingers empty. Without a word, Charlotte tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, straightened herself, and walked away in silence.
Kimberly was left speechless, her eyes widening in shock. She screamed, clutching her head as she shook it in disbelief. Then, desperate, she ran after Charlotte, calling out, "But you threw out my whole makeup set! And I'm not sulking like you!"
Charlotte kept her eyes on the monitors, completely ignoring Kimberly as she weighed her options. After some time, she finally made her choice and called over the store workers to help carry it. Turning back to Kimberly, she gave her a pointed look and said, "Well, you're going to pay for this—since you're the one who broke the last one, okay, honey?"
Kimberly lowered her gaze, then slowly looked back at Charlotte. "But you already have my card and everything," she said softly. "So why are you even telling me this? I don't mind, really—I mean, you finally got the monitor you wanted. So… can we go to a restaurant now? I'm hungry."
Charlotte sighed, giving Kimberly a suspicious look. "No, no—I don't mean one of my cards. I mean your card. You know what… never mind." She paused, her tone shifting as she added, "When you say dinner, you mean in a public place? Because I'm not ready for that… not at all."
Kimberly slowly moved closer, slipping her arm around Charlotte's and sneaking a gentle kiss onto her cheek. She looked a little confused, her worry showing in her eyes, as she said softly, "Oh… uhm, love, if you don't want to eat out, that's okay. We can do something interesting at home instead. How does that sound?"
Charlotte looked at Kimberly, a faint blush coloring her cheeks though she kept her expression stoic. "Aww, darling, you don't have to do that for me," she said. Then, with a teasing smile, she added, "I mean, you're finally going to pay for something—like once in your life. You don't mind, right?" Her eyes lingered on Kimberly as she smiled knowingly.
Kimberly looked at Charlotte, her expression confused as she thought it over. But deep down, she understood what Charlotte was doing. "Nah… on second thought, you're right," she said quietly. "I think we should just go home now. I mean, look at the time—we really have to go." With that, she turned around and began walking away.
Charlotte pulled Kimberly close, her eyes narrowing slightly as she held her in place. With a sigh, she murmured, "Hmm… and where do you think you're going alone, dressed like that?"
Kimberly blushed more and more, a smile spreading across her face. "Wow… my cute kitten has claws now, huh?" she teased softly. "I mean, what's wrong with my dress? It's normal."
Charlotte looked at Kimberly, unimpressed. Now that the coat was off, she noticed details she hadn't seen before—the dress was tight, short, and full of red flags she couldn't ignore. It unsettled her, seeing Kimberly like that, because her body drew attention in ways Charlotte struggled to resist. After a long sigh, she finally said, "Really… just look at it. It's too much."
Kimberly looked at Charlotte, a little lost at how she was acting. "Love, can you relax? I'm still yours—I'm not going anywhere," she said gently. "I've always dressed like this, so it's not exactly shocking. Remember, I was once a model in Paris. Plus, I really like this style."
She stepped closer, pressing a kiss to Charlotte's lips before meeting her eyes. "I know you care about me," she whispered, "but I won't do anything to ruin our relationship again. I promise."
Charlotte pouted, a faint blush rising to her cheeks. "Let's hope so," she murmured. Then, with a hesitant glance, she added, "Can I ask you something? Who was calling you yesterday? You declined that call so quickly… was it one of your ex-flings reaching out again?"
She walked alongside Kimberly as they left the store, her expression both concerned and curious. Looking at her with soft insistence, she said, "Aww, honey, I won't be mad, okay? And here—take this makeup set I bought. Think of it as an offering or something.
Kimberly looked at Charlotte, her face twisted in confusion and a hint of cringe. "No, that's not cute at all," she said firmly. "Besides, you're the one who threw it away, so of course you had to buy it back—or else you're not getting anything at night, or anytime." She crossed her arms, then added with a sigh, "And I don't have those ex-flings. I changed my number, and you always have my phone. You could check it anytime, you know."
Charlotte lowered her gaze, sulking as she spoke. "Aww… not cute? But I just wanted to ask you." She sighed softly before continuing, "And yes, I do use your phone—but only to check your social media. I look for anyone flirting with my hot yandere, then I block them or report them."
Her pout softened into a shy smile as she added, "Plus, with the pictures you post… my god, sometimes I can't believe I actually have you as my girlfriend, you know?"
Kimberly giggled, smiling at Charlotte's behavior. "Aww, you don't have to be like that—you're cute," she teased. "I just don't like bringing the past into this. It's over for me." She poked Charlotte's cheek playfully before adding, "Aww, you really have to play the jealous girlfriend card? I'm not even responding to them. My hot body is yours."
Leaning in, she brought her face close to Charlotte's and kissed her softly on the lips. Looking into her eyes, Kimberly whispered, "I'll make you believe that every single day." Then, with a mischievous grin, she pinched Charlotte's cheeks.
Charlotte's face was flushed red, her shyness overwhelming as she realized they were doing this in public—something she had never experienced with Kimberly before. She glanced at her nervously and stammered, "Well… this is so embarrassing. I don't know what to do. This is the first time I've ever done something like this outside, you know…"
Unable to handle this bold side of Kimberly, Charlotte quickly changed the subject and slipped away from her grasp. Her heart raced as she hurried to the car, still blushing furiously. She opened the door, slid inside, and started the engine, waiting for Kimberly with her pulse pounding in her ears.
Kimberly watched Charlotte running away, giggling to herself with a smile. Wow… I didn't even do much and she was already gone. She just acts so cute sometimes—I love that.
Hurrying to the car, Kimberly opened the door, but a strange feeling washed over her—like someone was watching. She glanced around quickly, but saw nothing. Shaking it off, she slipped inside, closed the door, and settled into the seat beside Charlotte.
Charlotte glanced at Kimberly, concern flickering in her eyes. "What is it, darling? Are you okay? It seemed like you saw something—or maybe you're worried about something." She kept her gaze steady on the road as she drove, but reached over to hold Kimberly's hand, her touch gentle and reassuring as they headed home.
Kimberly was clearly worried, her thoughts circling around the strange feeling she'd had—as if someone had been watching. Still, she refused to let it ruin her moment with Charlotte. She squeezed Charlotte's hand gently and smiled. "Aww, don't worry about it, okay? I was just thinking about you."
Charlotte's cheeks burned red as she blushed, glancing shyly at Kimberly. "But honey… I'm still here, you know. I'm not going anywhere." Her voice softened, almost trembling with vulnerability. "And you love me a lot too—like, you're kind of codependent on me. But that's really adorable… I love it, you know."
Kimberly looked at Charlotte with wide eyes. "Wow, really? Isn't it the other way around? I mean, you're the younger one here—you're the cute one too."
Charlotte tilted her head, protesting quickly. "What? No, no… you're not that old. You're just one year and seven months older than me, that's all. Plus, you're the one who came running after me, looking for me."
Kimberly let go of Charlotte's hand, folding her arms as she sulked and pouted, turning away with a huff. Her frustration grew as she muttered, "Hmm… I'm still older than you, and that's not going to change anytime soon. And I wasted money on that journey to find you. I thought about just going to Dubai or somewhere nice… but instead, I thought about you being all alone without me."
Charlotte held her stoic expression as she looked at Kimberly. "No… it wasn't even like that. I was busy with work, that's all." Her tone was firm, but there was a quiet vulnerability beneath it. After a pause, she added softly, "But if you had gone there… you would have never found me again."
Kimberly sulked, her voice trembling with frustration. "What? No… so you didn't remember anything about me? You were just working, huh? Wait, but…" Her words trailed off as guilt washed over her. She reached out, hugging Charlotte's hand tightly. "I'm sorry for saying that. Forgive me," she whispered, her eyes searching Charlotte's face with regret.
Charlotte pulled into the driveway, her expression softening as she parked the car. She turned to Kimberly with a faint smile. "Well… I was just kidding, okay? I missed you every single day, and I'm glad you did find me."
She stepped out of the car, her smile lingering as she walked around to Kimberly's side. Opening the door for her, Charlotte looked at her warmly—only to be caught off guard when Kimberly suddenly hugged her tightly, holding her as if she never wanted to let go
Charlotte held Kimberly close, finding the embrace endearing and lovely. With a gentle touch, she closed the car door, careful not to disturb the moment. Balancing Kimberly's bag and the makeup set in her arms, she moved quietly, making sure nothing interrupted the warmth of Kimberly's hug.
After a long moment of hugging, Charlotte gently patted Kimberly's back. Slowly, Kimberly pulled away, her smile glowing as she looked at Charlotte. "You know… that gave me energy. I feel good now. Thanks, okay?" She leaned in, kissing Charlotte while still holding her close, her heart swelling with gratitude.
Charlotte kissed her back, her eyes warm as she whispered, "Well, I'll do that often, okay? If you ever feel bad or anything… I'm here."
Charlotte glanced around as they reached the door, her eyes narrowing slightly when she noticed a package resting nearby. Suspicion flickered in her mind, but then she remembered the maid had been there earlier and likely brought it in. Still, she didn't want to let anything inside before confirming what was in it. Turning back to Kimberly with a gentle smile, she said, "Well… it's kind of hot out here, you know. Let's get inside."
Kimberly still held Charlotte tightly, refusing to let go. With a playful glint in her eyes, she tilted her head and teased, "Huh… you mean me, right?" Then, striking a cute pose just for Charlotte, she smiled, clearly enjoying the moment.
Charlotte smiled, her attraction clear in her eyes. "No… I meant the sun," she teased softly, "but you too." With that, she walked with Kimberly into the house, her tone shifting to something more practical. "Well, can you grab the package and bring it in, okay?"
Kimberly glanced at it, her expression turning dramatic as she noticed its size. "Well… it looks heavy. No, I can't—my nails…" She held up her hands with a pout. "I just had these done."
After saying that, Kimberly nudged Charlotte playfully, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Love, please help—I can't do it," she pleaded, leaning closer with a teasing smile. "And after this, I'll let you cuddle up with me… plus, I'll even wear something sexy for you."
Her tone was half-dramatic, half-sweet, clearly trying to coax Charlotte into giving in.
Charlotte smiled knowingly. "Well, fine… I knew you wouldn't," she teased. "But aren't you already wearing something like that? I mean, your whole closet is filled with tight, short dresses or skirts. Why is that? I've never seen you wear long or normal clothes."
With a sigh, she bent down and pulled the package inside, carrying it upstairs. She left it there without opening it, then came back down to continue her conversation with Kimberly, her expression softening as she rejoined her.
Kimberly watched Charlotte disappear upstairs with the box, waiting patiently below. To distract herself, she began unpacking her makeup set. Suddenly, her eyes widened and she let out a scream of delight. "Oh my god! Is this the latest from the Cry brand? I mean… this is so pricey and rare!"
Charlotte sighed, folding her arms as she looked at Kimberly. "You know… it's not such a big deal. I mean, what is this now? The twentieth makeup set you've collected?" Her tone carried a mix of teasing and exasperation. "Do you love my sister's brand that much? Do you keep them as trophies or something? Honestly, what do you even do with all of this?"
Kimberly picked up a lipstick, holding it delicately as she applied it with practiced ease. She pulled out a mirror, admiring herself with a little squeal of excitement before turning to Charlotte. "As if you don't do the same with all your gaming stuff," she teased, her tone playful but pointed. "I mean, I don't complain about that—I watch you play, or sometimes even join in"
Charlotte rolled her eyes, sighing as she shook her head. "Wow, really? Are you kidding me? Even if we do play, you cheat—seducing me with your boobs, or throwing your bra or panties at me so I get distracted and lose."
Her tone was half-exasperated, half-playful, the kind of teasing complaint that carried more affection than anger
Kimberly smiled as she moved closer, her voice playful yet firm. "I mean… winning is winning, you know. I never thought you'd be a sore loser, love." She wrapped her arms around Charlotte's neck, tiptoeing to kiss her cheeks again and again before finally pressing a deep kiss to her lips.
Charlotte melted into the kiss, hugging Kimberly's waist and pulling her up against her, their chests pressed together. Both of them knew things were about to escalate—until a sudden knock at the door shattered the moment.
Kimberly groaned in annoyance, sighing. "Damn it… what the actual hell?" Charlotte tried to calm her with a quick kiss before rushing to the door. But when she opened it, her eyes widened in shock at the person standing there.
Kimberly, curious and irritated, came closer. The visitor greeted them with a sly smile. "Hey there, cherries. How have you been? Did you miss me?"
The voice struck Kimberly like a jolt—familiar, unwelcome. Her expression hardened as she pushed Charlotte aside, anger flaring. "Honey, who is—" Her words cut short as rage overtook her. She slapped the intruder across the face. "What the fuck are you doing here, Karen? I told you not to come here or talk to me anymore!"
Karen laughed, the sting of the slap still fresh on her cheek as she leaned against the wall for balance. "Hmm… wow, that was something, Tou lek," she sneered. "But I'm not here for you, sadly."
Charlotte quickly stepped in, holding Kimberly back as she tried to calm her down. "Kim, can you please get it together?" she urged, her voice firm but gentle. "I don't have time for this, you know. Let's just hear what she has to say—that's all, okay?"
Kimberly, still annoyed with her sister Karen, forced herself to listen to Charlotte's plea. She calmed down, stepping back but keeping her eyes locked on Karen, ready to intervene if she tried anything.
Karen smirked, clearly amused. "That's cute… but you being jealous won't solve anything. I just need time with cherries here. How is—"
Charlotte cut her off sharply. "Just call me Charlotte for now, okay?" Her tone was firm, leaving no room for argument. Then she turned to Kimberly, her voice softening. "Darling, can you go wait for me in the bedroom, okay?"
Kimberly glared at Karen but said nothing. With a heavy sigh, she went upstairs, throwing herself onto the bed. Frustration swirled inside her as she stared at the ceiling, wondering why her sister had come back now—and what she really wanted.
Charlotte walked into the sitting room, standing tall as Karen settled into a chair. Her voice was steady, but edged with suspicion. "Well… why are you here now?"
Karen tilted her head, smirking. "Are you not going to sit down? Anyway, never mind. I'm just here to talk, nothing else, okay? I didn't realize you hated me too—like her."
Charlotte's eyes narrowed, her tone sharp but controlled. "No, it's not that. I don't hate you… but I don't love you either. After what you did to my family—and having your sister cover for you—I can't just pretend it never happened."
Karen laughed, steadying herself against the wall, her tone dripping with mockery. "Aww, that's so cute. Not to be the bearer of bad news, but your 'darling'—or whatever ridiculous name you call her—hid things from you. And let's not forget the clubbing… the people she messed around with weren't exactly saints. I was the one who got her out, but I didn't realize how deep she was with bad company.
Your sister, the gracious princess, swooped in to save the day. And instead of coming clean, she covered it up—lied, even—making it look like it was all my fault. So fine, I played the villain she painted me as. I even brought her ex into this, hoping she'd finally reveal the truth. But no… she just opened her legs to you. And now, Charlotte, you're in deep."
Charlotte looked at her, unshaken by the revelation. Her voice was calm but edged with finality. "Well… are you done? Or is there more? If not, then you can get out.
Karen stared at Charlotte in disbelief, her voice trembling. "But after all this… you still choose her? Why not me? I've never done anything—I'm purer than her. I can be everything you need." Her words grew desperate as she stepped closer. "Please… I'm sorry. I can be anything you want. Just take me."
Her composure broke, and she dropped to her knees, tears spilling down her face as she cried in front of Charlotte, pleading for a chance.
Charlotte's eyes widened, leaving her momentarily speechless. When she finally spoke, her voice was steady but laced with hurt. "Well… the fact that you see yourself as pure and her as something I can't even bring myself to say—it's all disgusting, intolerable. If you'd said anyone else, maybe you could've been my friend, but that's all. Love? You lost that the day you lied about the divorce papers and tore my family in half with that lie. I thought, once, that you did love me… but when you did that, everything changed."
Karen held Charlotte's hands, tears streaming down her face. "But I did it for you… I couldn't tell you at the time, I just couldn't. I'm sorry. We can make up, can't we? Please, forgive me—we can go back to normal."
Charlotte sighed, her expression soft but resolute. "Well… I do forgive you. In fact, I forgave you a long time ago. I even forgot about it."
Karen's eyes lit up with hope as she leaned forward, wanting to hug her. But Charlotte stopped her, gently pulling back. "But forgiveness doesn't mean we can still be like before. We can be friends… or even strangers. And that's fine.
Karen backed away, wiping her tears as she looked at Charlotte with trembling eyes. "I really hope what you chose makes you happy. I kind of knew you didn't love me anymore anyway. Just… take care of my little sister for me. I think I have no business seeing her, not while she's with you. Every time I see you, all the feelings come rushing back." Her voice cracked, faltering. "Well… uhm… farewell, okay?"
She turned quickly, rushing to the door as her sobs grew louder. By the time she stepped outside, she was crying openly, fumbling for her car. Moments later, she was gone, leaving Charlotte standing in the silence of the house.
Charlotte tried to stop her, reaching out as Karen rushed away, but it was too late—she was already gone, her car pulling out into the night. Charlotte stood frozen at the doorway, her chest tightening as the silence settled in. Slowly, she sank down near the door, her back against the wall. Tears welled in her eyes and spilled quietly down her cheeks. She buried her face in her hands, crying softly, careful not to let Kimberly hear her pain upstairs.
Kimberly heard the sound of a car driving off outside and grew curious. She rushed downstairs, calling out, "Is she gon—" but her words froze as she saw Charlotte sitting near the door, shoulders trembling.
Without hesitation, Kimberly hurried to her side. "Hey, baby… what happened? I'm here, okay." She wrapped her arms around Charlotte, holding her close, rubbing her back gently as Charlotte cried against her. Kimberly tried to soothe her, whispering comfort, even as worry gnawed at her—sadness for another woman was something she didn't want to dwell on.
But Kimberly pushed those thoughts aside, focusing only on her role: taking care of her girlfriend. She held Charlotte tighter, letting her cry it all out, comforting her more and more, refusing to let go until Charlotte's breathing steadied in her embrace.
Charlotte cried for hours until she passed out as she carried her to the bed as she laid her down as she grew more worried about what happened as she thought something bad is going to happen now but she didn't want to paranoid so she waited for Charlotte to wake as she slowly got tired too as she slept close to her as she held her in her arms Charlotte soon woke up as she looked around wondering how she got there as she looked as she saw Kimberly holding tight as she smiled as she looked at her face as she said aww cute I love you as she gently kissed her on the cheek without waking her after that she got up
Kimberly instinctively tightened her embrace, refusing to let Charlotte slip away. She pulled her closer, whispering softly, "I love you too." Pressing a gentle kiss to her cheek, Kimberly nestled against her, cuddling more deeply. The warmth of their closeness filled her with quiet joy, and for a moment, all her worries faded—she simply savored the feeling of holding the woman she loved.
Charlotte blushed as she hugged Kimberly back, her voice soft and a little shy. "You were awake… I mean, aren't you tired? You must be."
Kimberly sulked as she laid her head on Charlotte's chest, her voice soft but heavy with doubt. "Yeah… I wonder why. I mean, I was watching you, comforting you while you cried for another woman. Am I not enough? Not hot enough?" She sighed, clinging tighter. "I could change my diet, go for skin treatments… or maybe you prefer someone flat, not me. Hmm?"
Her words grew more fragile as she pressed her face against Charlotte's chest, sulking deeper, needing reassurance even as she held on tightly.
Charlotte smiled, a soft giggle escaping her lips. "Aww, my baddie… you don't have to be like that. I wasn't in a good place, okay? You're still pretty and hot to me." She gently lifted Kimberly's face, guiding her to look at her, then kissed her forehead tenderly.
Looking into her eyes, Charlotte continued, "You like being extra, don't you? I need you a lot. You have things I love—like how you don't always say much, you just do. You're clingy, sweet, and cute most of the time. You know how to love someone and really understand them. And yes, you can be annoying sometimes… but that's part of you, and I wouldn't change it."
Kimberly blushed at Charlotte's words, her shyness catching her off guard. She held her tighter, burying her face against her. "Well… I am annoying, but you still love me. Plus…" She peeked up at Charlotte with a pout, her voice soft but teasing. "You forgot to say I'm hot."
Charlotte looked at her and smiled, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. "Yes, you are," she whispered warmly. She held Kimberly close, her gaze soft and affectionate. Together, they stayed in bed, wrapped in each other's arms, simply cuddling—content in the quiet comfort of being near one another.
"Can the feelings we see in books or series be real?
I think good luck doesn't necessarily come from being good or doing good—it can come from the people around you, the ones who make you feel loved and cared for. From my experience, someone new can enter your life and change you for the better, unlike the person who failed to be there for you or to truly understand you. Real love is shown through actions that leave you filled with endless warmth, not through empty words and broken promises."
Charlotte didn't feel like cooking, so she ordered food to be delivered. Meanwhile, Kimberly was absorbed in her skincare routine, taking her time with each step. When the food arrived, Charlotte called for her, but she already knew—beauty was Kimberly's passion, almost like the air she breathed.
When Charlotte walked into the bedroom, she found Kimberly long finished with her routine. Instead, she was busy taking pictures of her glowing results and recording a video for her page. Kimberly was a star type—always wanting to shine, no matter where or when.
Charlotte looked at her and shook her head, not really understanding the hype over what Kimberly had done. Then she noticed Kimberly showing off the new phone Charlotte had bought her during a livestream. Kimberly was vlogging about Valentine's Day and relationship gifts, her energy radiating like she was born to shine.
Charlotte crossed her arms, half amused and half exasperated. "Wow, really? You like showing off, huh? Anyway, the food's ready—come on, let's eat.
Kimberly looked at her and smiled. "Well, the viewers want to see you—they're practically dying to. Can you come here for a sec?"
Charlotte pointed at herself, murmuring in shock, "What… why me?" But despite her hesitation, she went over, wanting to support her girlfriend the way Kimberly always supported her.
Kimberly pulled her close, hugging her tightly before kissing her cheek and lips right there on the livestream. Turning to the camera, she beamed. "Well, this is her, everyone—my Phi Lotty. Thanks for reaching out and supporting. I have to spend time with my girlfriend now, so see you later." She ended the live with a flourish, then looked back at Charlotte with a playful grin.
"Phi Lotty," she said sweetly, "can you lift me up to the bed? I'm going to eat there today—I don't feel like going downstairs."
Charlotte smiled as she carried Kimberly to the bed, laying her down gently. She then went to fetch the food and drinks, returning with two options for Kimberly: a glass of still water and a strawberry milkshake. Sitting down beside her, Charlotte unpacked the food and set everything out neatly, making sure Kimberly had what she needed before settling in to eat together.
Kimberly picked up her drinks, placing the still water on the bedside table before sipping the strawberry milkshake. She closed her eyes, savoring the sweetness. "Wow… I really needed that. Thanks, babe—I appreciate it."
Slowly, she turned her gaze toward Charlotte, who was already eating, and pulled a cute face. "Phi Lotty… can you feed me?" she teased, opening her mouth with a playful "ahh," waiting for Charlotte's response.
Charlotte looked at her and smiled as she carried Kimberly to the bed, laying her down gently. She then brought the food and drinks, setting out both the still water and the strawberry milkshake. Kimberly placed the water on the bedside table and sipped the milkshake first, closing her eyes with a satisfied sigh. "Wow… I really needed that. Thanks, babe. I appreciate this."
Charlotte sat beside her, unpacking the food as they ate together. Though a little annoyed at Kimberly's playful antics, she still fed her when asked, wiping her mouth whenever there was a mess. After a few moments, they finished eating and began getting ready for bed.
Tomorrow was a big day for them. Charlotte drifted off easily, sleeping like a baby, but Kimberly stayed awake, her mind restless. She kept wondering what to get Charlotte, asking vague questions without revealing her plans. As the night turned into morning, Kimberly barely slept, but decided to wake early. She showered, got dressed, and began preparing breakfast—determined to make it romantic, thinking carefully about what she could do to surprise Charlotte.
After finishing the romantic breakfast, Kimberly carried the tray into the room. She quietly climbed onto the bed, setting the food carefully on the bedside table. Leaning close, she brushed a kiss against Charlotte's forehead and whispered sweetly, "Wake up, sleeping beauty."
Charlotte slowly woke up, yawning as she rubbed her eyes. She looked around, then wrapped her arms around Kimberly's neck, pulling her close. With a sleepy smile, she whispered, "Happy Valentine's Day, honey. I love you so much. I hope I get to wake up with you like this every day."
Kimberly blushed as she held Charlotte, pulling her up gently so they were sitting together. Looking into her eyes, she whispered, "I love you too. Happy Valentine's Day, Phi Lotty. And… please don't leave me all alone again." She kissed her softly on the lips, then quickly pulled back with a grin.
"Well," she said, reaching for the tray, "I made you this." She placed the romantic breakfast in front of Charlotte with a flourish. "Ta-da! I made it myself.
Charlotte smiled at the kiss, though she was a little confused by Kimberly pulling back so quickly. Her eyes softened as she noticed the tray—beautifully arranged food with roses decorating the side. She blushed, her shyness showing as she whispered, "Aww, babe… this is so cute. I love it, thank you so much. Honestly, I thought I was going to do this first, but you beat me to it."
She giggled, glancing at the tray. "It looks amazing… but does it taste as good as it looks? Or am I going to end up in the hospital on Valentine's Day? Imagine that." Her teasing tone carried warmth, mixing affection with playful banter
Kimberly smiled at Charlotte's words, her cheeks warming as she blushed. "Aww, Phi Lotty… you're making me blush, you know." Her tone was sweet, but it quickly shifted when she caught the teasing in Charlotte's last remark. She pouted lightly, crossing her arms. "Huh? Hmm… you really must stop teasing me about not knowing how to cook."
Charlotte laughed as she tried the food, genuinely enjoying it but pretending to clutch her chest as if she were having a heart attack. Kimberly's eyes widened in shock; her face filled with confusion and worry. Panicking, she rushed to grab the water and asked frantically, "What's wrong?"
Charlotte leaned close, whispering in her ear with a mischievous grin, "I almost died… with love." She burst into laughter, but Kimberly only pouted, rolling her eyes. Folding her arms, she looked away in annoyance. "You know this isn't funny, Phi Lotty. I was worried, and you're mocking me again. Hmm… I'm not talking to you." With that, she stepped out of the room, leaving Charlotte behind.
Charlotte set the tray aside and followed Kimberly, grabbing something from the drawer before heading down the hall. She noticed a closed door and opened it—only to be showered with balloons and confetti. She flinched, closing her eyes for a moment, completely caught off guard. When she looked around, her gaze fell on Kimberly, who stood holding a bouquet of pink hydrangeas.
Charlotte stepped inside, surprised and happy all at once, her words stumbling. "I… I don't really know what to say. I…" She was speechless.
Kimberly walked closer, her voice soft but steady. "Yeah, I know I overdid it—but I had to do this for you. These flowers symbolize love and sincerity, and I wanted to show you how much I love you, not just say it." She knelt down, slipping her hand into the bouquet and revealing a diamond ring. Looking up at Charlotte, she whispered, "Can you make our love last like a memento—make it forever? Will you marry me?"
Charlotte was stunned. She screamed in shock, overwhelmed by emotions, tears spilling as she dropped to her knees too. Blushing and giggling, she pulled out a ring almost identical to Kimberly's. "Well… it seems like we really are soulmates. I didn't know how I'd ask you, but you woke up first and prepared this beautiful surprise. Now I feel so loved beyond words. So, I'll ask you too—will you marry me?"
Both Charlotte and Kimberly said "Yes" at the same time, their laughter echoing as they gazed into each other's eyes. With trembling hands, they slipped the rings onto each other's fingers, sealing their promises. Then they leaned in, sharing a kiss to celebrate the overwhelming love they both felt in that beautiful moment. The room seemed to glow with their happiness, filled with endless love and the certainty that this was the beginning of forever.
"Everything has its time said the man. I believe he meant moments like this—moments when love defies hate and breaks through boundaries"
"So don't be afraid to start something. What you must understand is that knowing how to finish it matters just as much. In the end, you'll ask yourself: if you hadn't started, would they still be here?"
