Our story begins in an alley. An alley full of rubbish, littered bins of rotting food, vomit, dirty clothes, and rotten vegetables hidden in corners, and piles of black nylon bags stacked together to resemble a small pyramid. Rats scurried around, foraging for crumbs and food for their tiny bellies. It was certainly a rat paradise. But alas, that paradise was going to be abruptly cancelled.
Suddenly, a young man burst into the alley in a state of panic. Immediately, the rats scurried back to their holes knowing very well that the paradise would return as soon as the unwanted entity left. But it wasn't going to be anytime soon.
Jason Xenophyte was in deep, deep trouble. Sweat dripped from his forehead as he frantically searched for a place to hide. He loomed desperately, thinking rapidly on what could be the ideal place to hide. Something bad was chasing him, something that wanted to rip him to pieces. But he was definitely not going to die today.
Out of options, he chose the first thing that came to mind. He dove headfirst into the pile of nylons, burrowing deeper and deeper, ignoring the horrible smell, the disgusting feeling of slime, the nausea in his stomach and his eyes watering.
As soon as he was done, he wriggled hard for a black nylon to fall on top of him, covering him very well instantly. He stayed very still and quiet waiting for it to arrive. It was safe to say he was just in time.
Without warning, something entered the dark alley. It was pitch black, humanoid, its flesh sinewy and furry, with white bones jutting out of its fur and protruding sharply. Its eyes glowed like molten fire, and its sharp razor teeth were coated in nloid from its prey. As the creature growled, the bones jutting out of different parts of its body vibrated and glowed yellowish.
The creature stalked forward then stopped, sniffing the air before slowly turning its head to the garbage. In that moment, the hidden Jason sensing a gaze heard his heart stop for one second, and before it resumed beating. His spine absorbed a shiver as the creature crept forward and then sniffed the garbage.
The creature growled then sniffed again and again before snarling and stepping back. It raised its head and erupted with an echoing screech before rushing for the wall in front of it and scaling over to the other side.
Tension had been cut in the alley after the creature left, silence had resumed, and the smell of death had dissipated only returning with the familiar smell of garbage. Jason waited painfully for another five minutes before he slowly got out of the rubbish, disgust etched on his face.
His body was a complete disaster, a banana peel on his forehead, vomit and beans on his shirt, a pair of heart boxers glued to his trousers. He ignored every single one of them and crept slowly out of the alley.
Immediately, he shot down the road at top speed clearly going to a destination and he was not the only one. Chaos was on the street as Jason ran with all his might, people were screaming, a stampede of scared people running as the same species of the creature that had come in the alley was attacking them.
Jason moved quickly and found what he was looking for. He rushed to an abandoned car that was painted silver and bent down, he pushed his hand under the car and brought out a brown bag that appeared to be full of something. He had hidden the bag when he was chased by the creature.
The creature was called a Pragichoro. It was a humanoid alien devoid of intelligence and existed for one thing: Extermination. This alien species had conquered planets, causing the citizens to become extinct. Their new target was Earth, and it was really obvious that they were winning. At first, the nations of the world had bonded together to stop this threat but it was to no avail.
Jason moved away from the car and began running forward. His next destination was the place he lived in, it was time to be away from the streets.
Suddenly, a huge crash was heard and Jason looked up, paling at the sight of what he was witnessing. A huge car was falling from what looked like a rental building and of all, the places it could land, it had to be on Jason.
For the first time, Jadon spoke and all he could say was:
"shit."
He dove out of the way just in the nick of time as the car came hurtling down with brute force and then a metal crunched. Smoke filled the air as Jadon coughed, getting up slowly and still holding his brown bag.
It was at this moment that he noticed something. He watched as the car was on fire and immediately he started running, the next second an explosion ripped the glasses nearby to shreds, the force detonating bricks, Jadon was thrown hard against a window with full force, crashing into what looked to be a ladies' shop.
Jason lay still, groaning before he trued go get up, an unmistakable sound filtered into his ear making him freeze in terror. It was a low, predatory growl. A Pragichoro was nearby. He kept still, not moving an inch as the humanoid creature crept by the open window outside and then looked in. Jason was hiding just under his breath. The creature was about to sniff when he heard running nearby. Its head snapped to the sound fast and it sprang and immediately pounced on the woman who made the sound.
"No!!! No!!! No!!!!!!!" The woman screamed for a terrible moment, before the creature's jaws drove for her throat and crushed her neck in one full bite. The woman gurgled and choked before the Pragichoro ripped her neck, the trachea, and her flesh showing.
Jason nearly vomiting at the sight had silently gotten out of the window and began to run again. He ran, he ran, and he didn't stop running. He didn't stop running. He won't stop running. He had to get away!
He had to get away from here at all costs!
