Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: The Pointed Head Equals Spirit?

Coneless Nail!

Although it was an ultimate technique of the Hasshoken, Chinjao's unique, natural deformity allowed him to use it as his own signature move.

His flattened head, covered in Armament Haki, combined with the unique and strange shockwaves of the Hasshoken, resulted in extremely destructive power.

Watching Chinjao's round body soar into the sky, Cyrus looked up, his Armament Haki flowing towards his right fist.

All the Armament Haki in his body flowed towards his right fist. His right fist seemed to be covered by a soft, deep purple glove, undulating as the Armament Haki flowed.

A faint, dark purple light was emitted.

[Armament Haki (Complete Mastery): You can skillfully control the energy in your body for attack and defense; you have comprehended the techniques of Armament Hardening and Emission; you have mastered the technique of Flowing Armament Haki, concentrating all your Armament Haki into a single point will unleash terrifying destructive power.]

On the data-like panel, the description of Armament Haki had quietly changed.

It had leaped from Primary Mastery to Complete Mastery.

The flow of Armament Haki in his right fist became more concentrated. Just seeing that dark purple light gave one an indestructible feeling.

Boom!

High in the sky, Chinjao reached the apex of his jump and, carrying immense momentum, came crashing down towards Cyrus.

The force was concentrated at the tip of his head, and combined with the ultimate technique of the Hasshoken, his Armament Haki-covered scalp gleamed with a dangerous light.

Cyrus could, of course, easily evade such an attack.

But Chinjao was no match for him, or rather, the aged Chinjao was now weaker than him.

Besides, an ultimate technique of the Hasshoken, is it!

Cyrus pulled his arm back, his arm swinging slightly. His eyes locked onto the descending head, and his right arm whipped out like a whip.

His force was concentrated at a single point on his fist, lashing out towards the falling head.

The fist and the head collided—no, they were just shy of it.

An invisible force separated Cyrus's fist and Chinjao's head at the moment of impact.

A clash of Conqueror's Haki erupted instantly.

Visible arcs of lightning burst forth from Cyrus's fist.

The same happened to Chinjao's head.

You have your Hasshoken ultimate technique, and I have my imitation of the Eight Extremities Fist's ultimate technique.

Cyrus's eyes were resolute, his fist still exerting force.

"Aaaahhh!"

Amidst Chinjao's roar, the clash of Conqueror's Haki continued.

But in the end, it wasn't an attack using Conqueror's Haki Emission.

As both sides exerted their strength, the fist and head finally slammed into each other.

"Get up!"

Cyrus's eyes narrowed, and he suddenly put force into his feet.

Chinjao's flat head rippled like water. Under the sudden exertion of force from Cyrus, his head abruptly deformed.

Under the pressure of Cyrus's fist, a sharp spike suddenly protruded from Chinjao's originally flat head.

Because of this, the direction of Chinjao's descent was altered.

As Cyrus's fist continued to exert force, Chinjao, who was originally head-down, changed direction.

With the full force of Cyrus's punch unleashed, Chinjao's massive figure was sent flying sideways in the direction of the punch.

What was once a bunker-busting bomb had now become a horizontally flying cruise missile.

Everything in Chinjao's path, whether trees or rocks, was pulverized by the impact of his pointed head.

Boom!

Only after he crashed into a distant rock wall, causing it to collapse, did all the commotion finally cease.

[Health: 94%]

Retracting the Armament Haki from his fist, Cyrus looked in the direction Chinjao had flown, a thoughtful look in his eyes.

It seemed his objective this time had been achieved.

The evolution and mastery of his Armament Haki was unexpected.

He had indeed learned something about the application of Conqueror's Haki from Chinjao.

But Chinjao's own application of Conqueror's Haki seemed quite crude as well.

All in all, paying a price of 6% of his health was not a loss.

Oh, it's 5% now.

But that fellow Chinjao didn't get the short end of the stick, either.

Cyrus had, of course, seen the change on top of Chinjao's head with perfect clarity.

Did he just help this old man out?

Cyrus walked over to his sword, pulled Flame from the ground, retrieved its scabbard, and sheathed the long blade.

It seemed the commotion here had died down, and Robin was the first to arrive.

A moment later, Robin walked over.

A flash of understanding crossed her eyes as she looked at the destruction all around.

Given the earlier racket, a scene like this was to be expected.

"Master!"

Sai and Boo arrived soon after.

When they saw only Cyrus and Robin there, with Chinjao nowhere in sight, their expressions changed drastically, and they glared furiously at Cyrus.

"Bastard, what did you do to our Master..."

Sai's eyes were bloodshot, and he looked like he was about to go berserk just as Chinjao had earlier.

Boo was much the same.

"Hahaha, it's back! It's back!"

Suddenly, a joyous roar erupted, accompanied by the sound of shattering rock.

Sai and Boo, on the verge of frenzy, froze and then looked toward the source of the laughter.

A portly, towering figure shot into the sky, flipped in mid-air, and landed headfirst.

"My Drill Dragon, My Drill Nail!"

Chinjao's ecstatic roar was followed by the ground violently cracking apart.

Huge fissures spread out in all directions from where he landed, extending all the way to the distant town.

"Master!" Sai shouted.

"Hahaha, it's back!"

Chinjao's rapturous roar sounded again, followed by frequent tremors in the ground.

Chinjao's massive body snapped trees in his path as he charged toward Cyrus, the sharp point on his head glinting with a cold light.

Cyrus's eyes narrowed, and the hand holding his sword rose slightly.

Behind him, Robin was on high alert.

Then, Chinjao's huge body leaped high into the air and landed with a thud, kneeling before Cyrus. Tears streamed down the old man's face.

"Thank you, my friend! It's finally back!"

Chinjao wept with joy, crying up at the sky.

With a dark expression, Cyrus pulled Robin back, dodging the teardrops splashing from Chinjao's eyes.

Sai and Boo stared at the spike on Chinjao's head, completely dumbfounded.

What in the world was going on?

That sharp point had existed only in their childhood memories, and now it had reappeared.

Cyrus and Robin glanced at each other, then both turned to the wailing Chinjao with dark faces.

"Um, Master?"

Sai cautiously approached the crying Chinjao and spoke tentatively.

"Get lost! Don't block my path to thanking my brother!"

Chinjao flung Sai away with one arm, his teary eyes fixed on Cyrus.

Cyrus felt a layer of goosebumps rise on his skin from the stare.

Just try being stared at with tear-filled eyes by a sixty-something-year-old man who was over five meters tall.

That feeling...

"Stop!"

Cyrus raised a hand and shouted.

The crying stopped abruptly.

"What's your order my brother?" Chinjao asked respectfully, his tears not yet fallen.

"Nothing... just,"

Cyrus was rather speechless, waving his hand at Chinjao.

"Stop crying!"

"Since you says so, I will stop crying. These are tears of joy!"

Chinjao explained, then climbed to his feet.

It seemed that with the return of the horn on his head, the old man's spirit had returned with it.

'So, horn equals spirit?'
