By the second Worldshell morning after Tovan entered Forest Hidden, the healers had recorded eleven versions of the plate beneath his skin. None were identical.
The three primary paths remained in place, but smaller branches shifted whenever another recall came through Veylan Croft's account. Forest Hidden stopped each attempt from moving Tovan beyond the treatment room. It could not prevent the catalyst from searching for new paths through his body.
The latest scan hung above a long table beside the ten earlier images. Blue lines crowded the right side of Tovan's chest. Several had faded after carrying a single command. Others remained and became part of the plate's circulation loop.
Cassandra entered only during the analysis periods authorized by Tovan. Rangar escorted her from the boundary each time and stayed until she left. When she was outside, the healers retained her notes but closed her access to the active medical view.
