Chapter 3 - Panic

KINGDOM OF ERUASERT — AFTER THE BOMBARDMENT

Shortly after the kingdom was struck by the bomb, the few survivors attempted to flee as far as possible from the point of impact.

Eruasert possessed a very particular social structure. Peasants and farmers lived at the very center of the kingdom, tasked with supplying the upper classes who resided closer to the outer districts.

The farther one lived from the heart of the country, the higher their social status. Nobles were granted the luxury of travel, the freedom to cross borders, and access to neighboring kingdoms.

The poor, however, lived trapped inside an invisible cage.

When the light descended upon the center of the kingdom, it was primarily the lower districts that were annihilated.

Survivors—dazed, wounded, and desperate—rushed toward the noble quarters by any means necessary.

But chaos only worsened.

Judging Eruasert to be unstable, the nobles themselves began an exodus toward allied kingdoms. Panic spread rapidly. Soon, the aristocracy suspected the rectangular kingdom of Ccare to be behind the attack.

An ancient pact bound the continents together: each kingdom was allowed to exploit certain lands, but crossing established borders or encroaching upon forbidden zones was strictly prohibited—under penalty of immediate war.

Over time, intoxicated by their prosperity, the nobles of Eruasert had violated these rules.

Ccare's strike was the answer.

—Where is the King? asked a noble named Rasfi.

When the news reached him, his expression froze.

— Gone… while he was supposed to travel to Ccare?

In his mind, the verdict was clear. The King had been assassinated to pay for his greed.

A kingdom without a ruler was a fragile kingdom.

As fear spread among the population, Eruasert became an ideal target for neighboring powers hungry for land and resources.

In response, the scientific world government Sci-Just reinforced the kingdom's barriers and declared the center of Eruasert a forbidden zone.

Any civilian entering a three-kilometer radius around the impact site risked lethal radioactive contamination.

For the lower classes, reaching the noble districts was a shock.

Gleaming paved streets. Buildings adorned with royal emblems. Lush parks, fountains flowing with water—and even drinks. Advanced technology. Ultra-secured infrastructure.

Another world entirely.

But the nobles viewed this forced coexistence with disgust.

To them, these "piglets" were parasites—unworthy of breathing the same air.

A kingdom without a king was a kingdom already condemned.

THE WORLD OF THE DEAD

At the same time, Nakid's fate was shifting.

Kneeling on the ground, the young boy wept without restraint.

He had tried everything to save Ysabella from the scorpion's poison, yet once again, he had been powerless.

Slowly, he rose and stared at the corruption spreading across the archer's bones. Tears streamed down his skeletal face, falling onto Ysabella.

Half-conscious, she drifted between pain and hallucination.

In that liminal state, she relived the final moment of her first life—the first cries of her newborn child, just before her own death.

Nakid's sobs briefly pulled her back to reality.

— Don't… don't grieve… she whispered weakly.

"

So much sorrow… you've already endured more than—

She stopped.

A gentle warmth enveloped her.

A faint green light emerged around them, like an aurora borealis blooming within the darkness of the cave.

The aura grew stronger. Warmer. Alive.

The pain vanished.

Ysabella regained full consciousness.

Her bones… were intact.

— Thank you… she murmured, stunned. You saved me…

Still trembling, Nakid heard her voice and slowly lifted his head.

— What is your name? she asked softly. You who pulled me back from death…

— Na… Nakid…

She smiled faintly.

—Nice to meet you, Nakid. I am Ysabella.

At that exact moment, something awakened within him.

Tears capable of extraordinary things.

The seed of hope—

In a world that had long forgotten its meaning.
