Chapter 41 - Chapter 39 Extra strong coffee

Jay's POV

Just when I thought the house couldn't get louder, everyone finally started dragging themselves toward rooms.

Calix: "I'm dead. Don't wake me unless the house is on fire."

Mayo: "Same. If I disappear, tell my story."

Felix: "Single, tired, and emotionally exhausted."

I had just dropped onto the couch, thinking peace… finally, when—

CLICK.

The main door opened.

I looked up.

My soul left my body.

Me: "...no way."

Standing there, with her handbag proudly swinging and a smile that screamed chaos, was my grandmother.

Grandma: "Why is everyone looking like they fought a war?"

Everyone (together): "GRANDMA?!"

Before anyone could react, she slipped off her slippers like she owned the place.

Grandma: "You all look tired. I'll make coffee."

The entire house froze.

Then—

Everyone: "NOOOOOOO—"

Angelo: "MA—WAIT—"

Lia: "STOP HER—"

Erdix: "THIS IS A THREAT—"

But she was already halfway to the kitchen.

Grandma: "What? Coffee gives energy!"

I buried my face in my hands.

This house is not insured for this.

Kitchen: The Forbidden Zone

We all stood outside the kitchen like it was a crime scene.

Grace: "Why does this feel dangerous?"

Percy: "Because it is."

Aries: "I still remember last time."

Inside, we heard cupboards opening… spoons clanking… jars moving.

Grandma (shouting): "How many spoons do people usually add?"

Calix: "ONE."

Grandma: "Two?"

Mica: "NO—"

Silence.

Then more clanking.

Me (whispering): "Why is she so quiet?"

Lia: "That's never a good sign."

Suddenly—

BOOOOM.

A loud BANG echoed from the kitchen.

Everyone screamed and ran in.

The Aftermath

Smoke.

Coffee powder everywhere.

The coffee jar… empty.

Grandma stood there, holding a spoon proudly.

Grandma: "Don't worry. I just made it extra strong."

Everyone stared.

Angelo: "Define… extra."

She smiled sweetly.

Grandma: "Nineteen spoons."

Silence.

Then—

Felix: "NINETEEN?"

Mayo: "That's not coffee, that's a weapon."

Eren: "I could see my future flash before my eyes."

I blinked.

Me: "Grandma… why nineteen?"

She shrugged.

Grandma: "Odd numbers feel powerful."

Percy: "This explains everything about our family."

Reactions Everywhere

Lia: "MA, YOU ALMOST BLEW UP MY KITCHEN."

Grandma: "See? Strong coffee."

Erdix: "My heart is already beating faster just looking at it."

Freya: "That cup could keep someone awake for a year."

Baby Grazel Jay giggled, clapping her hands.

Grace: "Even my baby thinks this is chaos."

Grandma poured the coffee calmly.

Grandma: "Who wants some?"

Everyone took three steps back.

Everyone: "NO THANK YOU."

She looked offended.

Grandma: "Ungrateful children."

I sighed, hugging her from the side.

Me: "Grandma… next time, let's try… five spoons."

She patted my head.

Grandma: "Fine. I'll listen. Maybe."

Maybe is not reassuring.

As everyone started laughing, coughing, and opening windows, I looked around the huge house—friends, family, noise, chaos.

This is madness.

This is loud.

This is dangerous…

…and somehow, this is the happiest I've felt in a long time ☕💙
