The morning of Kuya Angelo and Ion's wedding arrived faster than I expected. Lia's mansion had already transformed into a mini wedding venue, with flowers everywhere, tables set with precision (and a little chaos courtesy of Section E), and the scent of fresh pastries and coffee filling the air.
"Wifey… you excited?" Keifer whispered, brushing a loose strand of hair behind my ear as I surveyed the chaos.
I nodded, my hands clutching his arm. "Hubby… yes, but also… Section E is already attacking the flower arrangements."
He smirked, pulling me closer. "Wifey… let them. I'll make sure you survive. And maybe laugh a lot."
In my head:
Jay… survive. Chaos incoming. And yes, he always knows how to calm me down.
As soon as we arrived at the venue section of Lia's mansion, Section E had already gone into full control mode. Rory was arguing about whether the aisle should be 12 feet wide or 14. C In had decided to "test" the sound system by singing at full volume. Mayo was running around trying to fix chairs, while Calix and Felix were debating the importance of napkin folds.
"Jay! Wifey! You need to approve the cake!" Rory yelled from across the hall, holding a miniature model of a three-tiered cake.
I groaned, covering my face. "Hubby… please tell me this is normal."
Keifer chuckled, wrapping his arms around me from behind. "Wifey… this is our life. Normal is overrated. You just smile and survive."
In my head:
Jay… yes. Perfect. He's right. And also… why do I feel like every time Section E is around, chaos is inevitable?
I walked closer to the cake, glancing at Angelo and Ion, who were nervously laughing and adjusting their outfits.
"Wifey… they're adorable," Keifer whispered, kissing the top of my head.
I smiled softly. "Hubby… yes. I can see it. They're perfect together."
Meanwhile, Lia had taken over the floral arrangements, dragging Priya, Raki, and Grace with her. Tita Gemma was supervising the table settings, muttering about "adults today must behave." Baby Grazel Jay crawled through the center of the hall, waving a small bouquet like she owned the place.
In my head:
Jay… survive. Chaos + love + laughter = perfect wedding vibes.
As the ceremony began, Section E had somehow organized themselves into ushers, flower throwers, and "official chaos coordinators." Rory handed me a program and whispered, "Wifey… watch closely. This is how you plan your wedding without losing your mind."
I rolled my eyes. "Rory… I doubt anything today will go as planned, trust me."
Keifer kissed my temple softly. "Wifey… even if it doesn't, I'll be here. Watching your every move, holding your hand, making sure you smile."
The ceremony itself was beautiful. Angelo and Ion exchanged vows, and I swear I teared up at least three times. Keifer squeezed my hand each time I tried to blink back the tears.
"Wifey… you're crying," he murmured.
"I know, Hubby… it's just… beautiful," I whispered back.
In my head:
Jay… yes. I can't wait for our day… but seeing them… love really is everything.
After the ceremony, the reception was a whirlwind. Section E somehow managed to turn the dance floor into a full-on comedy show—Mayo tried to teach Baby Grazel Jay to waltz, Rory challenged Felix to a "dance-off," and C In was spinning Mica like a human top.
Keifer held me close as we watched, whispering, "Wifey… imagine our day. But with less chaos."
I laughed softly, resting my head on his chest. "Hubby… less chaos? That's impossible with Section E."
He smirked. "Then we embrace it, Wifey. Chaos included."
As the night drew to a close, I realized something—seeing Angelo and Ion's wedding made me even more emotional about our own. The love, the chaos, the family… the laughter. I couldn't wait to experience it all myself.
Keifer kissed my temple again. "Wifey… our turn is coming. And I'll make sure it's perfect. With chaos, with love, with us."
I smiled, feeling tears prick my eyes again. "Hubby… I know. And I'm ready… for everything. For us."
In my head:
Jay… perfect. Love is messy, chaotic, emotional… and completely worth it.
Section E cheered, laughed, and argued in the background as we left the venue, hands intertwined, hearts full, already imagining the madness of our own wedding.
