The semester was winding down, and the heat in Manila was becoming unbearable. We were only days away from the end-of-year ceremony, but the "Secret" that we had guarded so carefully was about to go up in flames.
The morning started like any other. I was sitting in the university courtyard with Mica, Freya, and Rakki, reviewing our final surgery scores. I had topped the class, and for a moment, I felt untouchable.
Then, the phones started buzzing. All of them. At once.
"Oh my god," Mica gasped, her eyes going wide as she stared at her screen. "Jay... look at the University Insider blog."
I pulled out my phone. My heart stopped.
There it was. A high-definition photo from our secret anniversary on the museum roof. The quality was too good—someone had used a professional zoom lens. The photo showed Keifer lifting me off my feet, the fairy lights glowing behind us, and his face buried in my neck. But the worst part? The caption:
"The 'Starlight' and the 'Monster': Is our top med student the secret wife of the Watson CEO? Or just his favorite investment?"
The Storm Breaks
The silence in the courtyard was replaced by a wave of whispers. Hundreds of heads turned toward me.
"Is it true, Jay?" a student shouted. "How much did he pay for your grades?" another sneered.Suddenly, Sophia appeared from the crowd, looking like she had just won the lottery. "I told you all! She's not a doctor; she's a trophy! Look at her—the 'Secret Watson Wife.' How does it feel to have the whole school know you're a fraud?"
I stood up, my legs shaking. I wanted to run, but I was surrounded.
The Watson Arrival
The sound of screeching tires echoed from the main gates. Three black SUVs roared onto the campus grass, ignoring the pathways.
The doors flew open. Section E stepped out first. Moya, Kit, Erdix, and the Law Squad formed a human wall around me, pushing the shouting students back.
"Back off!" Moya barked, his usual playful face replaced by a terrifying coldness.
"Anyone who takes another photo is getting sued for privacy infringement by the end of the hour!" Calix shouted, holding up his phone.
Then, the middle car opened.
Keifer stepped out. He wasn't wearing his student clothes anymore. He was wearing a three-piece charcoal suit—the uniform of the man who ran an empire. He walked through the crowd like a king walking through a battlefield. Every student he looked at immediately went silent and looked at the ground.
The Reveal
He stopped right in front of me. He didn't look at the crowd. He didn't look at the cameras. He only looked at his weify.
"Are you okay, honey?" he asked, his voice low and steady.
"Babe, the secret... everyone knows," I whispered, tears blurring my vision.
Keifer turned to face the entire university. He reached out and took my hand, lifting it up so everyone could see the wedding ring I usually kept hidden on my necklace
"Listen carefully," Keifer's voice boomed, amplified by the sudden silence. "Jay is not an 'investment.' She is my wife. We married a year ago in a private ceremony. She chose to keep it a secret because she wanted to earn her place here on her own merit—and her top scores prove that she did."
He narrowed his eyes, his gaze landing directly on Sophia. "Anyone who continues to spread lies about her medical standing will not only answer to my legal team but will find themselves blacklisted from every Watson-owned hospital in this country."
The "Mumma" Moment
Suddenly, two small figures broke through the police line at the edge of the crowd. Keigan and Keiran ran straight to me, hugging my waist.
"Mumma! Are you okay? Why is everyone yelling?" Keigan asked, looking scared.
The crowd gasped again. "Mumma?" someone whispered.
Keifer picked up Keigan, and I held Keiran. We stood there—the Watson family—in the middle of the university campus. The secret was dead, but something better had taken its place.
"Let's go home, weify," Keifer said, his arm wrapping possessively around my shoulders.
"Yes, hubby," I replied, standing tall.
We walked to the SUVs. As we drove away, I looked back and saw Sophia standing alone, her "victory" turned into a total social defeat. The university would never be the same, but as I looked at my husband and the boys, I realized I didn't care about the secret anymore. I was a Watson, and I was exactly where I belonged.
After one year..... ( time really flew fast )
The graduation from the university
The atmosphere at the University was heavy with the scent of flowers and success. After years of balancing surgery labs, law cases, and business mergers, the day of the grand graduation had finally arrived.
The Graduation Seating Chart
As the music began, the families took their places. The division between the "Watsons" and their "Section E" best friends was clear, but the love between them was undeniable.
The "Mumma" Moment
I stood in the hallway with my fellow surgeon graduates—Mica, Freya, Rakki, and C in. We were all adjusted into our robes, looking like a team of superheroes.
"I can't believe we're here," Freya whispered, glancing toward the nursery room where Erdix was watching their baby son. "One year ago, we were just students. Now we're doctors with babies!"
"And look at Mica," I teased. "She's already got that 'future lawyer-doctor' baby on the way."
Suddenly, the doors flew open. Jay-jay, Grace and Denzel's 5-year-old, came running in. "Mumma Jay! Mumma Jay! Daddy says the music is starting! And Grazel is crying because she wants to see you!"
I picked up little Jay-jay and kissed her cheek. "Tell your Daddy we're coming, sweetie."
The Ceremony
As we marched onto the stage, the Watsons stood out in the front row. Keifer sat with Keiran and Keigan. The three brothers looked powerful—the true heirs of the Watson name.
When my name was called—"Jay-jay Watson"—Keifer stood up immediately. He didn't just clap; he looked at me with a pride so deep it brought tears to my eyes. Behind him, Keigan and Keiran were whistling and shouting for their "Mumma."
I walked across the stage, received my diploma, and looked at the crowd. There was Grace holding baby Grazel, and Freya's son being rocked by Erdix. My best friends, my husband, and my family were all there.
The After-Party at the "Black Box"
After the ceremony, we all headed back to the Watson mansion in Tagaytay. The house was filled with the sound of laughter and crying babies—the best kind of chaos
To the graduates!" Keifer announced, raising a glass. "To the wives, the mothers, the doctors, and the friends who made this possible. The Watson family is stronger because of all of you."
I sat on the sofa, tired but happy. Keigan and Keiran were playing with 5-year-old Jay-jay, while Mica and Calix were looking at baby names on a laptop. Freya and Erdix were finally getting their son to sleep, and Grace and Denzel were busy cuddling little Grazel.
Keifer came over and sat beside me, pulling me into the crook of his arm.
"You okay, weify?" he whispered.
"I'm perfect, hubby," I said, leaning my head on his shoulder. "I'm a doctor, the Watson name is clean, and our family is growing. What more could I ask for?"
Keifer kissed my forehead. "Maybe a little brother or sister for Keigan and Keiran soon?".
I laughed, looking at the chaotic, beautiful room. "Let's enjoy the quiet for at least five minutes first!"
