Chapter 90 - Chapter 87 the return

The private jet touched down at NAIA, and as the cabin door opened, the humid, familiar air of the Philippines rushed in. The vacation was a beautiful dream, but coming home felt like stepping into our new reality—one where the Watsons weren't just survivors, but the leading family of Manila.

Waiting on the tarmac was a fleet of black SUVs, the chrome polished to a mirror finish. Section E's security team stood at attention, but at the front of the line were Mica and Calix.

"Welcome back, travelers!" Mica cheered, though she stayed under the shade of a large umbrella held by Calix. Even at 6 weeks pregnant now, she looked radiant, though her hand was protectively over her stomach.

"Did you guys actually relax, or did Keifer just spend the whole time checking the stock market?" Calix joked, shaking Keifer's hand.

"I didn't check it once," Keifer lied smoothly, though he smirked when I gave him a knowing look. He turned to his brothers. "Keigan, Keiran, get the bags. We're heading straight to the Black Box."

The "Black Box" Homecoming

As we drove through the gates of the Tagaytay mansion, the "Black Box" didn't feel like a fortress anymore. It felt like a home.

Grace and Denzel were already there, sitting on the veranda with 5-year-old Jay-jay and baby Grazel. Little Jay-jay came sprinting toward the car the moment we stopped.

"Mumma Jay! Kuya Keifer!" she screamed, nearly tackling me.

Careful, sweetie!" I laughed, picking her up. "I brought you a giant seashell from the island!"

Inside, the house was buzzing. Freya and Erdix were in the living room, their 2-month-old son sleeping peacefully in a high-tech cradle Erdix had probably programmed himself. Rakki and C in were showing off photos from their latest honeymoon trip.

The New Routine

After the initial chaos of the reunion, the house settled into a quiet warmth. Keigan and Keiran headed upstairs to unpack, finally feeling like the masters of their own domain.

I stood in the kitchen, making a pot of coffee, when Keifer walked in. He looked at the scene in the living room—our friends, our family, and the children—and then he looked at me.

"We're back," he said softly, leaning against the counter.

"We're back," I echoed. "Tomorrow I start my first full shift at the Starlight Clinic. And you have that board meeting for the new medical wing."

"It's not going to be like the university, weify," Keifer promised, stepping closer and pulling me into his arms. "No more hiding in libraries. No more looking over our shoulders. If I want to bring you lunch at the clinic and kiss you in front of your nurses, I'm going to do it."

"The nurses will never get any work done if the 'Monster' CEO is hanging around," I teased, tracing the line of his jaw.

A Quiet Realization

As the sun set over the ridge, casting a golden glow over the mansion, I felt a sudden wave of exhaustion—and a strange, fluttering excitement. I looked at Mica, who was snacking on green mangoes, and then at Grace rocking little Grazel.
