Chapter 176 - Chapter 170 first meet

The ICU was no longer a place of clinical terror. It had transformed into the inner sanctum of the Watson Empire. The monitors were still humming, and Jay was still hooked up to several IVs, but the air felt different—it felt like a victory.

POV: Jay (Jasper Jean Mariano)

My body felt like it had been put through a meat grinder and then stitched back together with heavy thread. Every breath was a slow, deliberate effort. But as I turned my head slightly, I saw Keifer. He looked terrible—his hair was a mess, his expensive suit was wrinkled, and his eyes were red—but to me, he had never looked more handsome.

"Hubby," I whispered, my voice sounding like sandpaper. "You look like you've been in a street fight."

"I was," he murmured, kissing the back of my hand. "With the Universe. And I won, because you're still here."

The heavy double doors of the ICU creaked open. Ci n walked in, but he wasn't carrying a clipboard or a syringe. He was pushing a small, clear bassinet decorated with a single pink ribbon. Behind him, the family peered through the glass partition, their faces pressed against the window like kids at a candy store.

The First Meeting: Mother and Star

Ci n carefully lifted the tiny, swaddled bundle. "She's been crying for you, Jay. I think she knows her Mumma is a 'Savage' who doesn't stay down for long."

He placed the baby into my arms. I winced at the shift in weight, but the moment her warmth touched my skin, the pain vanished. Astraea Solene was wrapped in a soft white blanket. She was tiny, her nose a perfect little button, and her hair was a dark, silky halo.

She opened her eyes—those deep, intelligent eyes—and stared at me. She didn't cry. She just watched me, as if she were memorizing my face.

"Oh, Astra..." I sobbed, the tears flowing freely now. "Hi, my little star. I'm your Mumma."

Keifer leaned over us, his massive frame creating a protective shadow over the bed. He placed one hand on my shoulder and used a single finger to stroke Astraea's cheek. She immediately turned her head and tried to suck on his finger.

She's hungry, hubby," I laughed through my tears. "She's already making demands."

The "Chaotic" Blessing

"Is it safe to come in?!" Percy (Blue Eyes) shouted from the doorway.

"If you're quiet!" Ci n warned, but he was smiling.

The room was suddenly filled with the people who had helped us survive the last nine months.

Alexander scrambled onto the bed, being incredibly careful not to touch my stitches. "See, Mumma? I told you she was a ninja! Look at her hands! She's ready for a sword!"

Ma (Jeena) and Pa Pa (Jasper) stood at the foot of the bed, crying quietly. "She's the image of you, Jay," Ma whispered.

Aries (Horoscope) waved a small piece of rose quartz near the baby. "Her aura is stabilizing! The moon is in the house of joy!"

Keiran and Keigan were beaming. "Mumma, we already picked out her first security team," Keiran joked, though we all knew he was serious.

Section E stood at the back, a wall of black suits and softened expressions. Erdix, Rory, Denzel, and Emman all looked like they had just won a war. Grandpa David stood with them, leaning on his cane, a rare smile on his face.

For a moment, the room went quiet. I looked at the small locket Ma had given me, which was sitting on the bedside table. I looked at Astraea, then at the empty space beside the bed where I felt a strange, warm presence.

"She's here too, isn't she?" I whispered to Keifer.

Keifer looked at the photo of Aurora that Alexander had placed on the monitor. "Yeah," he said, his voice thick. "I think the twins are finally together in this room. One watching, and one living."

Pa Pa (Jasper) stepped forward and placed a hand on Astraea's head. "Welcome home, Astraea Solene Watson. You have a sister in the stars and a family on earth that will never let you fall."

POV: Keifer (Mark Keifer Watson)

I looked at the scene before me. My wifey, battered but beautiful, holding our daughter. My son, leaning against them. My brothers, my in-laws, and my loyal Section E surrounding us.

The "Monster" in me finally went to sleep. I didn't need him right now. The fortress was secure.

"Alright, everyone out," I commanded, though there was no bite in my voice. "The Queen needs to sleep, and the Princess needs to eat. Ci n, take them to the lounge and feed them that 7-foot macaroon tower before Mayo and Kit eat it all."

As they all filtered out, whispering and laughing, I sat back down and pulled the chair closer. I watched Jay nurse the baby, her movements slow and maternal.

"We did it, hubby," she whispered, her eyes drifting shut.

"We did," I replied, kissing her temple. "Go to sleep, Jay. I'm right here. I'm not moving for the next hundred years."

As the sun set on the first day of Astraea's life, the Black Box was no longer a fortress of secrets. It was a home. The Star had arrived, the Queen had survived, and the Monster had finally found his peace
