The man didn't appear suddenly.
It was as if the place itself allowed him to exist.
He was tall,
his clothes were simple,
his eyes were deep, like gateways.
He said quietly,
"A good question… but it's late."
Kayotsu jumped up immediately:
"Who are you?!"
The man smiled:
"I am the Guardian of the Threshold."
He paused for a moment, then added:
"And you… have crossed a boundary that should not be reached by one who doesn't know his origin."
Kayotsu said angrily:
"If you know something, speak!"
The Guardian took a step closer:
"Your power… is not yours alone."
Kayotsu froze.
"You carry the remnants of a cosmic will. Something that should have disappeared."
He asked him in a low voice:
"Do you want power… or truth?"
He didn't hesitate:
"Both."
The Guardian smiled faintly:
"Then… come."
