Chapter 3 - Surprised change

Two days later, Robert woke up on his bed in his room. His eyes felt heavy, and he felt a little bit dizzy. Then he felt someone beside his bed, and he turned to look and saw it was his mother. She sat on a chair close to his bed and had laid her head on it as she was asleep. Upon seeing this, Robert was surprised, and then he remembered what had occurred.

Now I remember. I got hit by a beam of light from that strange crystal and then felt something flowing in my body. But wait a minute, why does it feel like I slept too long?

He looked around his room and tried waking up his mom.

"Mom, Mom, wake up."

He called out to her, and she immediately woke. Her beautiful long black hair was a bit uncombed and scattered. Upon seeing Robert was awake, she immediately hugged him, with a few tears in her eyes.

"Oh, Robert, I'm so glad you are finally awake and you are not hurt. You got me and your father so worried when we saw you in that state."

She sobbed a little and wiped her tears from her beautiful sparkling blue eyes. She was a very beautiful woman, fair-skinned with an elegantly shaped face and bright red lips.

"Well, Mom, I'm okay now. Your son is fine and alright, and nothing bad has happened to me. Come to think of it, Mom, how many days have I been asleep?"

He asked her, waiting for an answer.

"Well, Robert, you have been asleep for two good days. We thought you had fallen into a coma."

She spoke feeling emotional, and Robert shouted in utter disbelief about what he had just heard.

"What?! Wait a minute, Mom, you mean I have been asleep for two days? Oh man, I missed school for two days!"

He said regretfully and lamented.

"Don't worry about that, Robert. I took a leave for you and told them you were ill, so I got that fixed."

She said, and this surprised Robert, who thought of her as a typical mom who was good at that kind of motherly care for her children.

"Well, thanks, Mom, for it. I'm really grateful for your help," he thanked her with respect.

"Well, it's what a mother would do for her son, so don't get worked up over it. I have to call your father and brothers now that you are awake."

She got up and moved to his room door and called out to the others.

"Honey, Robert is finally awake! You should come see him!"

She called out, and a masculine voice responded from the upper floor of the house.

"Really? My boy is finally awake? Great, I'm coming right now, darling!"

The masculine voice said happily.

"Sammy! Elena!" she called out, and the voices of a boy and a girl were heard.

"Yes, Mom?"

"You both can come and see your big brother now," she said with a smile on her face. Then she walked back to her seat, and a man walked in. He had short black hair that reached his shoulders and brown eyes, with a well-defined body and broad shoulders. He wore an ash-colored T-shirt and a pair of black jeans and walked toward Robert. Then his two siblings ran in. The boy was taller and older than the girl, and she was about eight years old. The older one had black hair that curled backward and a pair of bright brown eyes, and the girl had jet-black hair that fell to her shoulders, bright blue eyes, and a perfect set of milk-white teeth.

"Oh, my boy, how are you feeling now? I hope you are feeling much better and you aren't hurt anywhere, because you gave me and your mum a heart attack."

His father sat on the side of his bed and asked how he was feeling.

"Well, Dad, as you can see, I'm alright and okay, and I'm not hurt. I know I may have made you guys a little scared, but as you can see, I'm all good, so there is no need for you all to be too worried."

Robert said with a bright smile.

"Yo, big bro! We are glad and also relieved at the same time that you're alright and glad you are up," the boy called to him and said as he folded his arms and smiled, happy at his brother's recovery.

"Hey, Sammy, thanks anyway, because now I'm okay and strong and not a weakling."

He said jokingly, and everyone laughed. Then the little girl climbed onto Robert's bed and hugged him tightly.

"Big brother, I'm glad you're okay and fine, because when I saw you hadn't woken up for two days, I thought you were dead."

She said while being somber.

"WHAT?!" everyone said with surprise.

"Well, Elena, I wasn't dead, number one, and I was just unconscious. Don't think to that extent, okay, because I'm alright."

He told her.

"Okay, big brother. I have heard your words. What made you pass out like that?"

The little girl asked curiously.

"Well, it was that goddamn crystal from space—" and he paused, thinking about the crystal. Everyone looked at him in surprise.

"Dad, the crystal?" he asked his father.

"What crystal are you talking about? Or have you lost your memory? And as for the little crater in the yard, we are going to fill that with sand because I had no idea how that crater formed," he said with a stern expression on his face.

"What?"

Robert was filled with shock, as they didn't even see the crystal.

"Dear, I hope the fall didn't distort your memories. Well, now that you are up, you will have to clean yourself up and change into new clothes, and we will have to excuse you," his mother said, and everyone began to leave.

"Okay, so, Robert, meet me in the study room after you're done so we can talk about what happened to you and why you passed out," his father told him.

Then his father and mother walked out together as he held his wife by her waist.

"Okay, big bro, I've got an assignment to do, so I will be going. After you're done, could you help me with a project, please?" Sammy told Robert.

"Don't worry, Sammy. I've got your back, and you know the bro code, right, don't you?"

Robert told Sammy and winked at him.

"Sure thing, big bro." Sammy walked out. Then Robert turned to his little sister, who wasn't leaving.

"So, you aren't leaving, are you, Elena?" Robert asked her.

"Well, nope, I wanna stay around you because you were asleep for two days, so I wanna spend some time with you," she said, smiling.

"Well, if you say so, I'm good with it," Robert told her, and he got up from his bed. He pulled off his T-shirt, which was already soaked with sweat, and as he removed his shirt—

"Big brother, when did you start a workout routine?" she asked with surprise.

"I don't get what you are saying, little sis. I have never had a workout routine before," Robert said in confusion at her question.

"Then if so, how come you have abs and a huge chest, and you look more muscular? And what's that strange tattoo on your chest?" she asked while pointing at his body, and this startled him.

He placed his hand on his chest and ran it across to his abs and found what she said was true. Then he rushed to his room's large mirror. Upon seeing himself in the mirror, he was at a loss for words and was dumbfounded, as he couldn't believe his eyes.
