Rosie stood by the door, her eyes on the two cars approaching the house.
Parking, Karlye and David came out of the first one. But Rosie's eyes were fixed on the red sports car behind them.
The door opened and he walked out, there eyes met, and a smile appeared on his lips.
He gently waved at her; Rosie smiled and waved back.
David smirked watching Arthur pull out flowers and gifts from his car then walk up to Rosie.
"These are for you " he passed the flowers to her.
Rosie took them her cheeks blushing, thanking him.
The door behind them opened and Andriana walked out with Mira.
"Oh you guys finally arrived and right on time. Dinner is ready " said Mira.
"Good evening, thank you for inviting me " Arthur said to Andriana. And passed her the gifts he had come with.
"Oh are these mine ...so I don't get any flowers ?" she jokingly said noticing the flowers her sister held.
"Oh, I got you the strawberries you love " he said pointing at one package he had passed to her.
Andriana beamed thanking him.
Arthur had got Mira something too, which left both women pleased.
Mira noticed the two men still at the car watching them.
"No flowers, no gifts, no nothing. Just two grown useless men coming to eat our food and stress us " she let out.
Karlye and David didn't respond.
Rosie led Arthur inside and Andriana followed.
Mira stayed back and told the two to hurry in.
After dinner Arthur and Rosie excused themselves.
Andriana wanted to say something but Mira stopped her, "he came here to see her give them some space " she told her.
Rosie and Arthur walked in silence reaching the waterfall right behind the house.
"It's beautiful .. isn't it " she commented as they stepped closer to it.
He nodded taking in the view.
"Thank you for the flowers. I loved them. " Rosie,suddenly said.
"Mmm, I really wanted to see you " he replied.
"I am fine as you can see" she said.
He paused and gazed at her , "I know you keep saying that but are you really okay?"
She looked up at him and he stared back, like he was really waiting for her truthful reply.
Rosie looked away, "I said I was okay, so why do you keep asking me "
"Because I know that okay isn't really sincere" he replied.
"Huh?'"
"I believe everyone's attention was on your elder sister cause unlike you, her condition is more delicate so naturally she would be the centre, and I understand that but to me you're more important. That's why I keep asking if you're really alright
Arthur moved closer but she paced back , he sighed.
"I really wanted to see with my eyes if you're okay. And you look physically fine but your voice every time you say you're fine says otherwise" he added.
Rosie blinked with an awkward smirk, "What are you saying ".
Arthur moved closer to her, "Rosie, it's alright you can tell me. I really want to be there for you ".
"You have only known me a few months that doesn't mean you know me that well " She blinked trying to hide her sadness.
"But I do. Yes, I have known you for a few months but I can say with confidence that I do know a few things about you now " he said.
She scoffed turning away.
"Your favourite colour is yellow, because it reminds you of sunflowers. The first flowers your sister ever gave you, you have a wheat allergy and love chocolate smoothies. You hate the rain ,i think its remind you of something unpleasant. You love taking afternoon naps and sometimes sneak out during physical education to take them"
"Huh...how do you know that ?"
"Cause I always keep watch for you , why do you think you have never been caught " he answered.
"I just thought I was good at sneaking away or hiding " she murmured.
He chuckled," Not from me "
She bit her lower lip as tears formed in her eyes
"Why are you doing this to me, I said I was fine " She sniffed
"Then why are you crying ?" he muttered closing the space between them.
"It was scary..." she mumbled." The sound of bullets everywhere. It still wakes me up sometimes "
His hand took hers , she breathed it was warm.
" I really thought we were going to die " her trembling voice let out.
"I am sorry you had to go through that " he said to her.
She looked up, her tear-stained face coming into view. Her eyes gazed into his , "And you know what came to my mind as we ran to safety ?".
He shook his head gently wiping her tears.
"Tell me "
"You .." she let out.
He frowned," Me?".
She nodded, "I don't know why but all I could think of was .....I was going to die without seeing you again"
Avoiding his gaze, Rosie turned away "Even when I got to safety, all I wanted to do was call you and tell you how scared I was. It made me happy when you actually reached out ".
"I had a talk with my sister and it made me realise something." She stopped.
"Rosie ' he called as he turned her to face him.
"I..I..." She stammered again.
He smiled, "Look at me Rosie "Slowly, she raised her head.
"You thinking about me in such a moment ...."
She cut him off, "It was so foolish of me to do so ..I mean we were in danger and all I could think of was how I was going to die without telling you that ..I like you ....".
She paused meeting his gaze. He chuckled.
"Can you say it again " he let out.
She covered her face in embarrassment while shaking her head.
"Then should I say it" he bent closer to her covered face.
"Can you please look at me as I say it "
She peeked through her fingers to see his smiling face. Gently, he pulled her hands away to see her eyes gazing back at him, his head leaned forward softly bumping into hers.
"I like you so much, Rosie," he stated.
"You do?" She blinked,
He chuckled nodding, "I thought I made it pretty obvious since the first day "
"Says the guy who went and dated my classmate, a crazy bully at that "she sniffed
His hand moved touching her cheek, his fingers were soft and warm as they caressed her skin.
"Can't defend myself there ... I just wanted to get your attention and the other guys said I should do that so you could notice me " he muttered.
"That's a silly solution ....but it did work for a while until she started bullying me " she grumbled.
"It's all my fault am sorry. I broke up with her the moment I found out " he said.
She sighed," I know but that made it worse, but let's not talk about that now. I dont want to think about her "
"I agree, I want to enjoy this moment. You just said you liked me " he smiled.
"Oh, I did " she avoided his gaze.
Arthur laughed pulling her in for another soft hug.
"I know we just said not to talk about it but did you really do that to her and the others?" He asked.
Rosie blinked not saying anything.
"I saw the video and I was ...." She pulled away before he could finish and rushed off towards the house.
"I think we should head back now , my sister might start to worry " she said.
"Rosie ...hi....I am sorry " he called to her but she didnt stop running off.
Arthur chuckled running after her.
