Chapter 12 - Chapter 11: At the Air-baptismday

The airvehicles rode for some time in the thick-trafficked street, and then AarryAir saw those ahead all swerving either left or right, and riding to line up in rows and columns of numerous airvehicles on both sides. When it was the turn of their aerocar, he saw it first come and stop at a good distance of the glowing grey gates of a long porch where was found numerous air-men and air-women and air-boys and air-girls, before the aerocar swerved and rode along a long line of airvehicles with the air-people either entering or exiting them and flying and gliding all along the air-lines of air-people which were amidst the air-lines of airvehicles. Warder-dad Airion parked at a next empty spot on an air-line of airvehicles, as all the succeeding airvehicles parked also along the airvehicle air-line.

"Ouverite te aero-veituro!" Warder-dad Airion ordered the aerocar, and its doors rose up, and they all exited the aerocar. The other Nestland Airway families also exited their airvehicles, and all the Nestland Airwayers aggrouped, and they flew and glided with other air-people along an air-line of air-people till they reached the grey gates and entered them. They flew and glided along the sun-filled porch whose floor was white wood, and after emerged out of it into a vast, circular platform. The platform was also full alike with air-people flying and gliding in all directions.

AarryAir saw the far end of the platform which was the wall and numerous windows and doors of a seven-storied septagonal building, and he stared up as always, and saw the very vast notice board on its top on which was written "AirSanctuarium: the Air-believers and Air-magic-practicers' Air-Sanctuary of Aamsang air-hamlet".

They all flew and glided ahead to the centralmost and largest double doors, and entered it into another platform which was smaller than the one outside. In here, the crowd was thickest with a chaos of noise and activity and flying and gliding, and they advanced ahead with difficulty.

"Of course, air-people always numerous on days of the air-sacraments!" AarryAir heard Mr Airmanie say.

"Well, as so!" Mr Gasmanie said. "Though they know not that an AirSaviour and AirSaviouress are to be air-baptized and air-confirmed today."

"And shall soon know so, and shall be more rowdy." Mr Wingmanie said.

"And the air-sanctuary shall be more chaotic." Added Mr Patagiummanie.

They reached before two smaller double doors on each side of one another, and AarryAir as usual stared at the signpost on their tops, and on the one on the top of the right double doors was written "Masculus AirSanctuarium", while on the one on the top of the left double doors was written "Femella AirSanctuarium". The air-people, mostly parents accompanying their children, were entering the doors on both sides.

"Here we are then!" Mr Airmanie said. "We the males can proceed to the males' air-sanctuary, while the females go for their females' air-sanctuary."

"Yes, we should." Mr Gasmanie said as there was acquiescence from everyone, and they started separating into two groups before the respective air-sanctuaries.

"Come and stand before me AarryAir." Warder-dad Airion said. "You shall precede us into the air-sanctuary."

"Yes warder-dad Airion." AarryAir said as he moved to place himself before his warder-dad who had Airian and Airien at his sides. They were in front of the men and boys.

AarryAir watched warderess-mum Arletta tell AarrietAir to stand before her, which AarrietAir did.

"You should all remember," Mr Airmanie recalled to everyone as he lowered his voice so as to be unheard by the other air-people, "we should all strive to be by all sides of AarryAir and AarrietAir when in our respective air-sanctuaries, for when they are proclaimed as an AirSaviour and AirSaviouress, know that a commotion shall surely commence to see them."

Everyone assented to this too.

"And remember again," Mr Airmanie continued, "we shall only surround them during the air-baptism and air-confirmation to ensure that it is done without difficulty, for after these are through on them, we shall have to let the AirSaviour and AirSaviouress go away and show themselves to the airers and aireresses and air-landers and air-landeresses and air-worlders and air-worlderesses, and to Airia and its AirLandia and AirWorldia as a new AirSaviour and AirSaviouress."

Everyone assented to this.

"We will let them go on their own, and do on their own," Mr Airmanie continued, "and we will NOT go after them to ward or watch over them as we did on them their whole lives."

Everyone assented again.

"We will have to let them go on freely and without any encumbrance on our part," Mr Gasmanie said, "for it is a beginning of how they shall live their lives from henceforth as they shall shoulder their AirSaviour and AirSaviouress duties and responsibilities without us being a cumbersome to these."

"We shall only ward them and watch over them as from henceforth with limitations," Mr Onehumanairmanie added, "and without too much exertions."

"As limited as can be possible and shall be suitable as I and Arletta were told this nine years ago that it shall be so as from their eleventh year, and we had agreed, and still agree to it." Warder-dad Airion concurred.

"I think all has been said and we can now go into our air-sanctuaries . . ." Mr Airmanie said, and everyone assented as all looked at each other in concurrence. "AarrietAir, Arletta, Airwomania dear, girls and women, see you later!"

And the fathers and boys and mothers and girls bid to soon to each other, and then took to their respective air-sanctuaries.

"AarryAir, you can go now." Mr Airmanie said to him.

"Yes Mr Airmanie." AarryAir said, as he flew to the double doors before him, and entered them into the familiar open-air arena-like area, which was filled to its fullest with air-men and air-boys occupying all seats and stands and open space above. AarryAir saw that as always, it was calmer here in the air-sanctuary than outside as the noise was subdued into whispers, as a great voice was instead heard shouting from deep below, "Come, Come, Come! Come and Get Yourselves Air-Baptized O Ye Little Air-Children!" which they all knew was from the air-baptizer, and it continued, "Come, Come, Come! Come and Get Yourselves Air-Baptized Or the Anti-Air will Come at You!" and the voice shouted and shouted and shouted. A stairway immediately descended before AarryAir, and it too was full, as such that he could not easily proceed.

"Please make way!" Mr Airmanie shouted. "Make way Misters! We have an air-boy here to be air-baptized!"

"An air-boy to be air-baptized!" The men and boys said shifting aside, and AarryAir proceeded down the stairs with his warder-dad, his warder-brothers, and the other dads and boys following behind.

AarryAir emerged out of the throng and found himself behind a group of boys standing on the stairs of a pulpit who were close to his age, and saw many other boys extracting themselves from the crowd and moving to the pulpit. As he was above them, he saw they stood surrounding the air-baptizer — an extremely tall, ageing, white-haired, air-man who was in all-white, wrecked, big, and strong-looking feathers and plumes and wings and patagia, and his body emitted a white air-aureola of air-magic as he was so an air-magician. Before him on the pulpit was a whirlwind of tiny, white bubbles which whirled up and down, and AarryAir felt it from where he was. The air-baptizer kept on crying and crying and crying, "Come, Come, Come! Come and Get Yourselves Air-Baptized!"

"Come, Come, Come! Come and Get Yourselves Air-Baptized O Ye Little Air-Children!"

"Come and Get Air-Baptized and Allied to the Air!"

"Come and Get Air-Baptized and Allied to the Air against the Anti-Air!"

"Come and get air-baptized for your protection and salvation!"

"Come and get air-baptized to be protected and saved!"

The air-baptizer cried out as he stood with his back facing AarryAir, and as AarryAir started to land down, the air-baptizer suddenly swung and faced him, and stared at him for a second, and then pointed at him, and screamed. "This is an AirSaviour! This is an AirSaviour! This is an AirSaviour!"

And then a resounding and echoing noise began about the place.

The air-baptizer gave out a hand and seized AarryAir by the arm and pulled him to him and shouted. "An AirSaviour! An AirSaviour! An AirSaviour!"

AarryAir then felt behind him his warder-dad and Airian and Airien and the dads and boys spread out to encircle and protect him as they pushed farthest the air-children to be air-baptized, and took position around the pulpit's edges to protect him from the crowd threatening forwards.

"This is an AirSaviour! This is an AirSaviour! This is an AirSaviour!" The air-baptizer continued crying, ignoring all and everyone and focusing on AarryAir as he stood AarryAir on the floor of the pulpit before him, and AarryAir felt the whirlwind stronger and saw it whirled in the same place as its bubbles spiralled all along it. The air-baptizer then shifted him before the whirlwind and facing him, and said. "The AirSaviour shall be air-baptized!" He then ordered AarryAir. "AirSaviour, undress yourself!"

AarryAir then quickly undressed himself as his warder-dad took his clothes and shoes, and remained he in briefs as he fully felt the whirlwind.

"AirSaviour, wings and patagia inside!" The air-baptizer ordered again, and AarryAir instantly drew back his wings and patagia. "No feathers and plumes out, and no transparentizing yourself until we have finished with the air-baptism and air-confirmation!"

"Yes." AarryAir answered as he inwardly instructed himself not to draw forth feathers and plumes and wings and patagia or become transparent.

"Good." The air-baptizer said.

AarryAir then immediately felt an invisible force take hold of him and freeze him, as he no longer heard the echoes, and he instead heard a voice speak as if it came from the whirlwind. "YOU THE AIRSAVIOUR ARE AIR-BAPTIZED IN THE AIR!" And as the voice spoke, the force plunged him into the whirlwind, and as he was in the whirlwind, he felt a cold as the airs and the bubbles washed over him. He felt the force extract him out of the whirlwind, and the voice speak again. "YOU THE AIRSAVIOUR ARE AIR-BAPTIZED IN THE AIR!" And as the voice spoke again, the force replunged him into the whirlwind, and after extracted him out of it, and the voice spoke again. "YOU THE AIRSAVIOUR ARE AIR-BAPTIZED IN THE AIR!" And as the voice spoke once more, the force replunged him into the whirlwind, and after extracted him out of it.

And as AarryAir was out of the airs, him and everyone in the air-sanctuary heard a thundering voice from above, and they all stared up at the open-air, and felt a strong and shivering whirlwind descend, and stop above AarryAir; and all felt it gather up, and then they could all see it, and all saw it as a clear, transparent, white-and-silvery-lit, massive, and meshy air-mass, consisting of tiny air-dusts intermixed with a mass of innumerable, branching, long and thread-like filaments which were connected end-to-end; and all knew it was the Air; and it then descended upon AarryAir and lighted upon him, and the thundering voice above growled. "THIS IS AN ACCEPTED AIRSAVIOUR WHO IS AIR-BAPTIZED IN I AND WITH WHOM I ALLY!" And AarryAir felt the Air immediately disappear and its light was no more, and he felt the force free him, and he heard the echoes again which were loudest.

"Here you are an AirSaviour, air-baptized as an AirSaviour." The air-baptizer told to AarryAir.

AarryAir was feeling cold, and the coldest he had ever felt in his life as he slightly shivered.

"The AirSaviour has been air-baptized!" The air-baptizer cried in proclamation as he turned and spoke to the men and boys.

AarryAir heard the air-baptizer's voice ring strangely in his ears.

"The AirSaviour has been air-baptized!" All the men and boys then shouted as they struggled to see and push past warder-dad Airion and the dads and boys who were an encircling barrier blocking all access to AarryAir.
